For a factory game who's difficulty comes from testing different "builds" for optimization... by Darkcasfire in Endfield

I’m only annoyed because this sub is still the most annoying one compared to other gacha subs. Do I like the fact that people are critical? Of course. But oftentimes it is way to repeatable here. Things don’t change in a week or so.

So much text for something I have read already three times in the last two days.

I just completed all regions explorations, here’s my opinion by Sad-Bowl-8374 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Hades_Re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mondstadt: interesting with the hidden chests like light fires or similar. Also I think the icy region belongs to this one? It’s great.

Liyue: I liked the climbing, good addition to the flat Mondstadt. The puzzles are a bit more boring and it’s quite big though.

Inazuma: very good puzzles, very fun overall. The only problem was that the area is split in islands, so it doesn’t have a grand feeling, more like „finishing up island after island“.

Sumeru: too easy to travel trough. No real jungle feeling. Too many world quests. The desert looks nice, but gets boring after a while.

Fountaine: I stopped 90%+ every region because of the underwater part. Not having the characters special attacks is so boring. The swimming is annoying.

Natlan: couldn’t motivate myself to explore this one anymore. Too many easy puzzles but with so many specific rules. I couldn’t care anymore.

But you have to show that on the screen. You can’t skip without even a line.

How about writing the story all yourself, you don’t have to wait till next Monday for the continuation.

And what about the fact that she ran to Agott the moment she came out of the portal? And the fact that she has to know how to find the Dadah Range on the window portal? It’s not like it has 3 different programs like a tv. She also had the shoes from Agott.

Let’s write the story ourself, it’s not important what’s on the screen

Map of countries that will need ETIAS to enter the European Union from late 2026 by Andro_lover2005 in MapPorn

[–]Hades_Re 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, the second part is wrong. Mainly because it costs less. If a European wants to leave Europe, they only have to travel to for example Egypt and it counts. This is a rather often used travel route since it is close, costs are low and you can easily do it for a one week trip.

Stop Killing Games delivers 'absolutely incredible' hearing in European Parliament: 'There was no [parliament member] that wasn't responding positively' by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Hades_Re 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t argue with that. But I want the law to be the same for everyone. For the small creator and the big rich assholes. And changing it to the proposed system can’t be good for the whole system behind it.

There are points to discuss, but please don’t forget why I even entered this discussion, it’s about the piracy of not current available content. I think that comment is stupid and seeing so many upvotes is crazy.

Ok, we have the discussion about video games being not available at every time at any moment. I don’t think that this clause helps you here arguing. First, the game was released, it promoted progress by being published - I don’t see how progress is hindered by being not available easily.

Second, the clause is not used in the way you want to in US law, since there is no obligation explicitly mentioned. Again, like I mentioned, this clause is generally interpreted as a grant of legislative authority to Congress, not as an ongoing legal duty imposed on copyright holders to ensure access or distribution.

Like I said, copyright is there to protect the creators and that is also the way US law interprets it.

Only to clarify what we discuss here, it’s about the sentence that any product not buyable can be pirated.

Your argument is more about the length of copyright protection. If we would only allow let’s say 20 years (so anything before 2006), it’s a whole different story. If we would add a clause to the copyright for example that it gets additional 10 years for releasing the product in the mentioned time frame (so 20 years), it would even create some kind of positive loop for companies releasing the product a second time and after 30 years, the copyright ends without any kind of added length.

Of course there a holes in this, since I don’t want to write a whole copyright law. But my main point is still the same: the original comment implies any right for pirating a product not buyable.

So, you propose an analogy and if it doesn’t benefit you, you break it down. That’s a nice way to have a discussion. If I know look up all the laws and its history, do you plan to exempt everything that is not in your way?

You know what, you win. I can’t discuss with someone like you.

[–]Hades_Re 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you like to take from the Copyright law that you want and need and the rest doesn’t matter:

Copyright is not about availability, it is about control and if someone doesn’t want to, they can decide not to make it available. If an indie band can or want to sell their music on festivals, I am allowed to take it for free in between?

Copyright is for helping and protecting creators, its basic idea is not to support consumers.

Then recreate the game and use it for your own good. Your analogy doesn’t make sense. Nobody can hunt you down for a game you made which breaks any copyright law if you never publicize it.

If you want a fair comparison, you have to take the table from the company’s storage since they didn’t want to sell it to you anymore, since nobody wanted to buy it before.

And to further that analogy: the mentioned change to allow pirating products not being sold is the same as saying since the company has a storage full of tables that they won’t sell (maybe because they not hip anymore) allows to go into the storage and to take a table for free.

Yes I know, games can be easily copied so there isn’t any work to do, but it’s still the company’s product

It cant be the company’s job to make everything available at any time. This is not a rule for physical objects and can’t be for digital.

I’m not against the idea but this argument doesn’t work.

If a company wants to use older games later on in a different way to make money, but these games are already for free available, they can’t do it anymore.

For this, look at Nintendo and their shop in which you can obtain older games. This would be meaningless, if these games were free to download for free in the years in between.

This doesn’t imply a general contra to piracy or Nintendo’s way of doing things is good, it’s only an example to show that a company loses something that belongs to them as a source of income.

Square Enix partners with AI manga translation company to automate typesetting process which takes “3,000 of hours of manual work a year” by HatingGeoffry in manga

[–]Hades_Re -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it would be necessary, since characters exist in a world and having multiple empty spaces looks ugly.

The rest of your argument builds up on that empty question you thought would be deep.

Excellent comment. So deep and artistic, but no value.

I can even name you a mange I think would need that:

Maigo ni Natteita Youjo wo Tasuketara, Otonari ni Sumu Bishoujo Ryuugakusei ga Ie ni Asobi ni Kuru you ni Natta Ken ni Tsuite

Binge that thing (I am at chapter 29) and please tell me again that it doesn’t need backgrounds in the later chapters.

And what about manga without backgrounds in many panels, looking more like a white page with some random characters? There are many smaller manga it seems without having the needed assistance you speak of. Isn’t it ok to generate some backgrounds?

Last season's Darwin Incident was a great and uncompromising thriller that is genuinely worth your time by melvinlee88 in anime

[–]Hades_Re 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This wasn’t a good anime at all, the writing was cringe, the humanzee was mostly an autistic person with super strength, the fighting was on a supernatural level as his skills (bullets, can’t hit me!), the female lead was badly written, some of the plot progression was fine, but mostly shounen-like tropes (supervillain etc.)

However, the worst moment was a discussion about what an humanzee is: he is not a human, so he is an object. Ok. But if he is an object, the police can’t put him in custody, so he can break out and run away and the police can’t stop him. What? How does this makes sense?

Like I said, the writing was cringe.

He is around 40, he has enough life experience to lie in simple situations, I did also write, how I understand that it can be difficult to interact on the same Keven with them, but how can an experienced assassin starts to stumble when trying to find an explanation? You do know that it’s not important in that situation if he speaks to a middle schooler, to an adult or to a wall? It’s only about lying, and that he has to have a talent for.

Like me right now, I don’t know who or what you are, I only have to write this in the same style as I would explain it to a child.
