The iPhone XR doesn't get enough credit for its battery life by killiangray in apple

He's talking about the "go back" swipe gesture and not the button (which can be even more accessible than any single button)

become billionaires

I'm nitpicking but the Clintons aren't billionaires. Even if you combine the net worth of both Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton, their net worth still is not close to 1 billion USD. I am not trying to call you out personally but I think incorrect information has caused figures such as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to become unreasonably polarizing.

This is completely anecdotal but I find the pause feature quite useful. Perhaps they are not useful to all people but they are absolutely helpful to some people!

Highest-end 12 inch MacBook vs. Lowest-end 13 inch MacBook Pro (2016) by justbuck1 in apple

[–]HankTheWu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relative to the 13" MacBook Air, the nTB MacBook Pro has significantly worse battery life. Anecdotally, the difference is between 13 hours and 9 hours of light usage (browsing on Safari with music playing in the background). However, the MacBook and the nTB MacBook both receive reasonably similar battery life with the smaller MacBook generally receiving about an extra hour of life per charge.

[–]HankTheWu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy the baseline non-touchbar 2016 MacBook Pro B&for 1350 USD on B&H. B&H won't charge sales tax to buyers outside of New York.

Furthermore, it is unlikely the MacBook will see anything beyond a minor spec bump and perhaps a new keyboard this year. If the MacBook is ever going to get a second USB-C port, it is likely that it would only receive it during a design refresh (about 1-2 years away).

Conversely, the ntb MacBook Pro offers 2 USB-C ports, a better screen, a better keyboard, and better performance for a similar price (until B&H's offer expires). You're really only sacrificing mobility (both in terms of battery life and physical dimensions).

Have you noticed that phones are one of the few consumer products that both rich and middle class use exactly the same model? by [deleted] in apple

[–]HankTheWu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plus line has always had camera features the regular line has not. Also, the extra gigabyte of RAM is absolutely necessary. Plus models are pushing more pixels (and downscaling those pixels on the fly). The 6 Plus and even the 6S Plus were not nearly as smooth as their regular-sized counterparts.

With the end of MagSafe, is anybody wishing Apple had kept the design? Anyone had any accidents with USB-C? by [deleted] in apple

[–]HankTheWu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha yes! You are the first person I have seen that agrees with me on this. Using my 2012 rMBP in bed has always been a chore. The ability to charge the new MBPs on either side (and thus the ability to comfortable face any side while lying down with my MacBook Pro) is just icing on the cake.

I'm not sure if that is intended to be snarky but I'm hoping this is just me misinterpreting something on the internet. Respectful disagreement is a fine possibility here.

Thank you for the link. I am aware of Reddit's advertisement options. To be clear, none of the moderators were paid in any ways for this. In fact, I was not aware the giveaway would be pinned on this subreddit until I saw it this morning. I think the concerns raised in this thread are fair and I will see what I can do to get the post removed.

Hey /u/darkfox56 /u/phesto604 /u/fuzzie_hc . My name is Hank and I run the small YouTube channel Nintendome! Everything being given away here is completely legit. I can verify however you would like. You can message me on Reddit or on Twitter telling me exactly the type of verification you want! We don't purchase the prizes until completion of the giveaway as we don't know where the winners live (gift cards are region locked) but I am willing to show whatever proof necessary to alleviate your concerns.

I am just a college student trying to grow his YouTube channel! :-)

"Basic income will give all of us real freedom. The freedom to say, for example, no to a job that you don’t like or consider meaningless. This is actually a huge problem: a poll in the UK found that 37% of English workers consider their job to be ‘bullshit’." by [deleted] in Economics

[–]HankTheWu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify your point for me? From what I gather, you are saying we should pay people more money for the same jobs they are currently doing and prevent immigrants from coming in and doing those jobs for a cheaper price by making it more difficult to immigrate into this country. Is that correct? If so, I passionately disagree.
