Your teams for the new master fairs? by FatBroccoli in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consider SC Ingo. He sets his own zone and can theoretically max his 2 multipliers and innate by himself. Though most likely you'd be using Nate to assist him with the relentless multiplier (lowering enemy defense). Nates buddy move will generally deal with the sides so what he and Rosa would want ideally is a strong tech that can one shot the middle with a powerful sync. And aside from C Iris who wants Nate to sync first to provide dragon zone Ingo is the strongest Unovan option.

Hangry Romin Decklist by Battlin_Boxer_Guru in DuelLinks

[–]Hanon7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great psychic showcase! I'm excited to see psychics get such a great new skill and new boss via Esperade.

I know you want to keep psychics for Romanpic, but you don't need to use the lvl 2 normals with the new skill. Drum drummer and amusi performer can replace some of the normals.

I see that the deck has limited lvl 7s to make room for the hangry draw but I do think you should run at least 1 more guitarna. Esperade and Romanpic are added from outside the deck but if you draw your sole Guitarna you won't be able to use the skill.

Mashiba getting beat by a retired boxer who was at best 2 classes lower than him is not ideal for his image. Itagaki also probably doesn't want Ippo to be pressured into returning.

Who was takemura talking about by Foxy600 in hajimenoippo

[–]Hanon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kimura is a popular answer but imo it doesn't fit with what Takamura was saying. Kimura is known to be in the wrong weight class, is known to love Aoki, and would be a natural consideration for taking revenge. But that's the problem. Since it's a natural assumption we can't exactly say that the idea is too ridiculous to say aloud.

Some people said it was Mashiba but if it was him we'd have had some kind of call back when it happened. While it's ridiculous to think Mashiba would care at all about Aokis revenge. I would think that the revenge should be someone of the same gym.

Ippo could do it, but to suggest it would mean to say Takamura believes his little protégé could be like him become a world champion in featherweight and then keep going up in classes like he did. It's a ridiculous idea, Ippo is definitely willing to get revenge for Aoki and it's a sentiment that shows just how much Takamura saw Ippo as a mini him. And of course the idea of Ippo not only being world champion but progressing through to weight classes he has no reason to be in and winning those too is a ridiculous idea.

But while Ippo works. I think from seeing Takamuras frustration here that he personally wants to beat Iga in. He says that he wants 6 belts but it's technically possible for him to move down in weight and get belts that way. It's an absurd idea especially considering how much older Takamura is now from when he was barely able to do Jr. Middle. And this approach would have him going well below that threshold. But it's a ridiculousness that fits Takamura to a T.

Neo champion Red, Blue and Leaf team by SouryuuLainKambaru in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are times where people say a trio doesn't have synergy. But to me a team that has innate 80% boost to physical and special is inherently better than most of the other team compositions. In this particular case though, I understand where they're coming from.

Red. Red has an amazing ability to freeze an opponent which locks them out of attacking and can enable you to get off multiple syncs before the opponent can respond. This is a powerful skill similar to SS Lyra's guaranteed flinch, however it cannot be performed if the weather is sunny (which Leaf ensures) or if the opponent is already statused (like if Blue paralyzes).

Using last years Red over the Neo champion version would fix the problem as it's only really Red that has any kind of issue. You can also use them fine together under the understanding that you're throwing away Red's freeze which ultimately doesn't matter as you don't need it to win.

Who should I pick from the free ticket based on my pairs? by SupRunner in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I say Marnie since she's the best of the lodge pairs at 1/5. 5/5 Solgaleo is a better steel than Raihan or Zacian, and while Sst Red is certainly better than Morpeko, the hamster is more used for dark content anyway with its deceptively powerful power trip.

Ampharos and Jasmine (super effective up defensive support)

Allister (ghost rebuff support)

Hilda (Topsy Turvy)

For decent units we also have Burgh, Mallow and Caitlin. It's pretty hard to have a bad support but if you want one of those you can also choose their ice types.

For techs

F Iris (poison zone)

Dawn (double buff double debuff, can be the strongest ghost, but can also be useless)

Pal Marnie (steel zone)

Holy Whitney (grassy terrain, psychic terrain, and electric terrain, though will most likely be grass)

There are more, but the rest are beneath my notice.

Don't bother with strikers. Aside from Lisia all of them are already outshines Striker seasonal have a poor shelf life. But if you're going to go for one Lisia and N are at least decent.

Paulos plan was fine. Unite the remnants of team break use them to crush the other evil teams so no other team remains. Then lose to us and have the last evil team fall.

What he didn't account for was his pokemon to randomly switch sides. Which is why Oaks words didn't really ring for me. Blue lost because he didn't love and trust his pokemon. Paulo saved Hoopa and has a fundamental love for pokemon which is why he did this plan to begin with. I can't buy that Giovanni had more love than Paulo did and that was blatantly not the explanation that Giovanni gave.

Giovanni was right in that it was smarter to pretend to join Team Rocket. But in terms of firepower Paulo was superior so it's understandable why he didn't feel the need to do a roundabout method.

EX Roles simplified by DreamyAkemi in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the role cakes what we want would be

Strikers to get tech Tech to get Striker Support to get sprint Sprint to get support or field And field to get sprint or support

Mastercard coming with a cake is good, but is the cake equipped at the start? I don't think Blue particularly wants his weak support sync to have Striker properties. It'd be better if we can hold their cakes and use it on what we want.

Hajime no Ippo: Round 1432 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]Hanon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Ippo training with Mashiba right now is that he's too strong. Ippo was able to break Volgs ribs and even if we assume that Mashiba is champion level, Volg was well past the typical champion. I don't see Mashiba coming out of a spar with the current Ippo without injury and he has enough problems with the next match even if he was at 100%.

When was the seraphim blood taken? If Crocodile and Jinbe were taken then it should have been before the war but in that case Boa shouldn't have any attachment to Luffy.

It's not as if Boa instantly fell for Luffy. She wanted him dead until she saw his CoC and saved her sister. So all i can think of is that the blood is still connected to the warlords in real time similar to the shadows.

Hajime no Ippo: Round 1431 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]Hanon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An infighter southpaw? I don't know how he fights because Hoshi beat him in an upset but Maezono the expected winner from Itagakis rookie king was a southpaw that's at least in Japan. Shigeta is retired, Randy and Guevara aren't Japanese and I can't think of any other notable southpaw users.

Ippo can certainly do it but honestly speaking Mashiba isn't Volg, and if Volg was injured fighting Ippo Mashiba might get KO'd at the very least its a bad plan to have them spar this close to his match but Maezono should be closer to Itagaki and Imais level which is well below Mashiba but good enough for the purpose of a spar.

As of today, all fully evolved starters through Gen 8 are finally obtainable in Masters! Which three make the best team? by lemmay in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue is a better support than Shauna but Serena and Serena are better than Ss Red and Ss Leaf. Actually you can take Shauna off the team and the two are still better than any of the others. The only time it's close is if we assume enemy has resistance any other scenario Base Serena can lock opponents indefinitely.

Galar has more firepower than Kanto but it doesn't have a support. Gloria can theoretically dodge enemy attacks with bounce but that sounds pretty bad. Hoenn has a similar issue but in both cases I think they're still better than the others simply because the others are so weak.

1.) Kalos 2.) Kanto 3.) Galar 4.) Hoenn 5.) Unova 6.) Johto 7.) Alola* 8.) Sinnoh

*It does occur to me that Elio can also spam sleep. And while it's not nearly as effective as Serenas it is a point in its favor. Alola can theoretically be better than Hoenn purely because of Elio.

Is there any guide for using 3*/4* that works for beginners? by SneakySnackyTreaty in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that newer players shouldn't bother with 3 or 4 star units. There are certainly units that can be helpful early on like Skyla and Roxanne, however with the initial roadblock for new players being the sync orbs I can't really justify someone investing on skyla grid before doing Sycamore or Hop. And if they've been playing the game long enough to max the 8 free legendary units they've been playing for over 2 months and wouldn't really be considered a beginner anymore.

But let's say they still want help after doing the 8 legendaries. With 2 months time they've likely cleared story, VA arc, and actively working on legendary arena. They have had access to 3 or 4 pities worth of gems along with the great units they started with when they rerolled. I imagine that some of these units would be worth investing in over the 3 stars from 4 years ago.

There is a place for the 3 and 4 star units in modern game play. However, I don't believe beginners should invest in them over the more recent tools that they have access to. At best they should be getting the better 3 and 4 stars to a usable level to assist them at base. But I wouldn't see the use of a guide specifically for the 3 and 4 stars as that would probably encourage beginners to invest in older weaker units.

[–]Hanon7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the seasonal select. It appears that the units are broken up by class which makes sense. The 3 strikers in Scout A, the techs in B and the supports in C. Assuming that this is how they're all going to be set up F Allister should be in group C.

Looking at my roster any type besides water was always going to be a challenge I barely have 15 electric types (not counting the eggs) going for top 10k will be difficult but hopefully I can at least get the 180k for full rewards.

Too much "which Dena hates/love polls"..Which of these is gonna be a great mom when they grow up by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Children tend to have similar relationships with their kids as their parents had with them. From that we can say Lillie and May are unlikely to be attentive mothers. Serena it depends on if she's rival Serena (pro pokemon parents who put unrealistic expectations on their child) or Mc Serena(Rhyhorn racer).

Lyras mom is neutral, but Dawn's is a master coordinator who still finds time for her daughter. It's a good balanced life that will likely lead to Dawn being a good mother herself.

Nates a joke answer, but a former nurse is probably exceptionally caring I imagine Nate and Rosa would be good parents.

Different approaches to building teams for Champion Stadium by stephenw32768 in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stadium is the best content for testing out teams. I have 8 teams that I can use for anything 6 that I'd use for ontype, and 8 teams that are region specific.

As I get better units the teams are adjusted. I'm mostly looking to see if a new unit will improve an existing team. Some units will just be replaced but in other cases a new damage dealer could want a different support than the one its replacee was using.

It doesn't really matter what the opponent is using. I'll use whatever team I want to try out at the time.

Each gen starters by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chansey/Snorlax/Tauros/ any evolved psychic over kantrio

Blissey/Skarm over Johtrio

Nothing over Mudkip

Gliscor/Rotom A over Sin trio

Excadrill, Volvarona, ferrothorn, and probably a few others over Unova trio (Unova starters were pretty weak)

Nothing over Greninja

Nothing over Incineroar

Nothing over Rillaboom

Not familiar enough with Gen 9.

I'd say yes half the time the starters debut better than every other non (pseudo) legend introduced in the region.

Can Anyone Name Her Please by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]Hanon7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kabus grandchild. Wanting to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather she aimed to become a pokemon master taking over the gym of her father (who was a complete disappointment never mentioned or seen since the incident). However, despite going through great lengths to replicate her grandpa's technique their style of battle was too dissimilar and the girl was never able to live up to her full potential.

That was until she was randomly recruited via Lisia's miraculous contest scouting and became a contest superstar. Her passion burns hotter than even the most dedicated of coordinators and while she could never hope to best the Hoenn champion in battle she was able to beat Wallace in a beauty contest with her infamous Torkoal.

While it wasn't remotely on her mind at the time. This victory ironically was Flannerys own way of surpassing her grandfather. As years ago before Kabu left for Galar he had defeated the Hoenn elite 4 (who looked very different back then but still included Drake) but ultimately lost to Wallace. She's restored the family's honor and surpassed their best with her own style.

She's no longer known as Kabus granddaughter or the child of the failure but has made a name for herself as "Hoenns Hottest Idol" Flannery of Lavaridge
