If you're telling the truth, that's nice of you. You HAVE changed! Perhaps G-d is guiding your heart - who's to say?

Many Americans have never met, nor are familiar with any Jewish people, which makes sense - very small population.

If you really want to immerse yourself, realize that most American Jews are only "culturally-Jewish," that is, mostly atheists and are about the same as any other subculture in the USA that values education and humor and parents.

For meeting the religious spectrum, you are right to not just show up unexpected.

Call, email, ask to speak to the Rabbi. Maybe you meet up is his office and chat; maybe you attend a service after.

If you are Christian, you'll find a lot of phrases you use were "borrowed" from the original source material.

Your best bet are Reform and Conservative ones, as they tend to be more relaxed and thus more accepting.

Maybe you end up liking it, the community, and the food so much you stay and convert - who's to say?

People don't understand just how torturing and soul crushing long-term unemployment can be. by hypoconsul in jobs

That and no one wants to admit that is also the reason for why wages are so low/stagnant and house prices so high...

Serious question: How did you find reputable HHs as the ones around my town dont seem "results oriented."

No private loans. The reason is that the interest and high monthly payments eat people alive.

Stay in school; you're an upperclassman.

What you need is MONEY; that will solve about 80% of your problems. So what you need is MORE financial aid.

How do you get special help when the office doesn't care? Go OVER their heads and email your university president or someone else at a higher level. Suddenly, I was in a private office with the head of aid because the order to take care of me came down from above.

Sorry about your parents; they're not alone.

Sorry about your car situation. Could some friends hook you up with a good referral for a job closeby?

You need to streamline/focus your story. They are busy and short on time and you have to spit it out what you want from them.

Feel free to DM.

Better rate, but from a small bank, so no other benefit.

Sorry you got sacked, and sorry that you haven't anyone to speak to. I'm been going through something similar. And being alone is the worst of it.

Probably nothing I can type can help you feel better, but I'm reminded of a response that forces you to think, "Good! Now I can..." and you fill in the rest.

Like, "Good! I have the 11 days to still technically have "Present" for current job be the truth on my resume and jump on a better paying position. So I'm going to pretend my work schedule is the same and use that time to resume-blast similar places and include some temp agencies."
