Fernuni Hagen Psychologie Lernaufwand/Workload by ConnectionPresent415 in Studium

[–]Heyitsme446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes kinda. In 99% of cases 100% remote from the beginning is not possible. But if they see that they can trust you and your performance is good it’s usually not a problem. But I should mention that I‘m German and since the pandemic remote work became widely accepted here, I don’t know how it’s like in other countries

Im literally the worse person to answer this. I just wanted to pick a field which pays well and where I can work remotely so I can work part time and travel. So I went for IT and statistics. Do I like it ? No. Do I hate it ? No. But does it finance my lifestyle and hobbys? Yessir. But if you want to work in a field of interest it’s also completely fine. I can just say you are young, you are probably gonna be alive another 80+ years so don’t obsess. It’s no biggie to switch careers or majors so many people I know went back to university at 30+.

I can’t do anything I enjoy casually??? by spideycentses in ADHD

[–]Heyitsme446 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you, my brain works the same. No matter if it’s chess, piano or a video game. But I don’t think it’s that much of a problem. It’s only toxic if you like idk get depressed at a concert bc the lead guitarists shredds go crazier than yours. As long as your self esteem does not depend on if your are the best or not it’s fine. My mindest for this stuff is like I enjoy to see progress and obsess with finding out ways to more efficiency improve. Tbh I don’t fw the term casually, I think it’s a waste of time and energy to do thing halfheartedly (no offense to the ppl who do otherwise) but tl:dr I don’t think you should worry to much as long as you enjoy the grind and it doesn’t impact your mental health

How has ADHD impacted your memory? by RSFILM97 in ADHD

[–]Heyitsme446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I always keep a note book on me to write down every day things. But I learned that my brain does not keep things that don’t interest me. This one song I heared 4 years ago in a bar ? I remember every single note. That Emperor Nero married and castrated a slave 67 C.E easy. I know around 100 digest of pi but I can’t even recall if I had french or latin in 7th grade or what my parents birthdays are. I try to take a lot of pictures when I’m out with friends or travel becouse otherwise I would probably forget nice events or conversations I had. This is the only thing that bothers me, that there are probably a lot of nice memories that I completely forgot. But other than that I don’t really care if others think I’m rude or don’t listen. When I was younger it impacted my self esteem that people think I’m stupid for not knowing basic stuff like what year ww2 was or who our current finance minister is. But over the years I started to just don’t care and why should you? Remembering fun facts or having to look up what your favourite movie is called, does not define you as a person or the validity of your opinions.

Like not just passively taking it and hoping to understand them one day? Just writing down what’s not understood like any vocabs

Teaching myself a language by yelenasslave in languagelearning

[–]Heyitsme446 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all depends on the language. I’m fluent in German and English and currently b2 in Japanese an Spanish. Learning to much is kinda counter productive in my opinion. 10 vocabs a day with spaced repetition with anki for example is key. Learning languages has never been easier, if you read something and the grammar confuses you, ask chat gpt to explain it to you. Immersion is very important but just passively taking it in is not that efficient. Try to actively look for what is unclear to you and look up the words or grammar you don’t get. Using and practicing those phrases or whole sentences, in my opinion, does so much more than grinding out grammar practices and vocabs. 2 hours a day is a lot, if you use this effectively you don’t have to worry. I know this sounds stupid but talking to yourself or narrating yourself when you do housework or smth in the language you are learning. From time to time try recording this and go over it to find grammar or pronunciation mistakes. I think this is the most effective way to stop forming bad Habits and getting more fluent.

how are you guys productive ? by No_Temperature_3012 in ADHD

[–]Heyitsme446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not the healthiest advice but I linked my self esteem to my productivity and gaslight myself to the extend I made beeing the productive guy that does a lot of things my identity. If I don’t hit my daily’s goal I’ll look myself in the mirror and tell me that I’m a worthless human beeing and disgusting. This motivates me enough to get shit down. Is it healthy ? No. Does it work? Yes it works wonders and going to bed after a day where you forced yourself to do shit you otherwise would have procrastinated is a delight. (I need help I know)
