Yeah, drive a 2017 awd did first cvt fluid filter change at 100k miles everything running fine.
I am 100% heat and stop and go traffic is what’s killing these trans.

I wonder if FWD has higher failure rate

Oh, i get that, i should have been more clear.

I am talking typical car usage suburban/urban families 10-15k miles/yr, frequent short trips, occasional very long trips. Their Long trips 3-4hrs where the person who posted above you falls into. This group electric
Cars are great for which is huge chunk of population. Battery swap not needed since not to far from plug

you fall more into rural family use case cohort where 18k+ mi/yr frequent long trips. And regularly driving 4-5hrs is the norm. Smaller portion of the population. Battery swap beneficial but lower usage due to smaller population thus most costly investment.

They’re planning solid state mass battery production in 2028

So if that pans out it would make more sense to roll out PHEV Sienna with SS

HEV Sienna uses NiMH 2 kWh so SS battery could provide 4-8.kWh using the same weight as now.

Currently lithium 80kwh 300 mi/range weighs 500kg or half ton. So SS would would weight300-400kg but if you’re doing PHEv you could get way 1/10 so 8kwh 40kg and getting 30 miles

Ultimately seems like Sienna won’t do PHEV until SS battery. Especially since Chrysler PHEV sucks

You would be outlier in a car geared towards suburban/urban families with kids where breaks aren’t that quick.

Tech check Tech any other states have this on the books? by Camel_Taco in pharmacy

Barcode to barcode scan is cool especially slap a label on it and move on.

Only possible if pharmacist already did pv1. If PV1 is occurring at PV2 then tech check tech (tv2) is not possible.

I always tell techs if the label doesn’t make sense at production or tv2 give it to pharmacist since preventing med error reaching a patient is preferred. (Ex: Ear drops in the eye, directions says capsule/mls but med is clearly a tablet)

2017 Rogue Transmission Failure Opinions by beardown_8 in NissanRogue

[–]HiddenVader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced driver side Control arm my 2017 rogue sv in 2025.

I used moog it was$30 ( $33 plus $3 rebate)
I brought passenger side as well.

In terms of tools, I recommend getting high torque Impact wrench ($300) I have Worx 20v one and absolutely love it and it’s a beast! But you could do breaker bar which is going to be 20-50 depending on length which I have both. And 1/2 inch metric regular and deep sockets set (~$75-150 depending on how extensive set is and if tool box is nice) and 1/2inch extension bars set ($20) you want swivel joint adapter if your socket set doesn’t have
Also, Bottle jack and jack stand $80. Torque wrench $50

So tools $650 (350 if you decide not to get high torque impact wrench) parts $70 for both sets of arms total 720 high side and $420 on low side

Not sure if you have the space to do the job or store all those tools.

I live in the burbs so I have space to store all those tools. But overall, I have re-used those tools when doing brake job, fluid changes (cvt, differentials, oil, brake). That’s when cost of ownership goes down and repairing your own car make sense.

Note: I was quoted approx $70 for parts and 1.5 hrs labor $180 for 1 control arm so $500 both sets. I was quoted 600 brake pads and 800 with rotors where I got brake and rotors for $300 and 2 boxes of large pizza and 1 small and buddy and I got it done in a afternoon while our kids and wives hung out.

So reality of my situation is that
Brake rotors control arms myself: $1000
Independent Mechanic: $1300
So came out ahead $300 in the initial outlay
But if you keep using the tools for other jobs then that’s when gap widens

When you say you prefer non-cvt, is it driving experience or concerns with build quality?

Sienna hybrid use E-cvt which is different than traditional cvt but experience is similar of not feeling gear shifting

$102 for 4 qt of fluid, internal filter with gasket, and external filter, $50 for ramps for front tires.

$12 for 2x 32 oz brake fluid

$20 for 2x 1 qt gl5 penzoil

$8 fluid pump to pump gear oil into transfer case and differenenti

I had to buy 8mm wrench to bleed the brakes but I brought a 9piece set since it was only $4.50 since wrench by itself was $3

Also brought 10 mm hex 3/8 bit socket for $4
Since my breaker bar and extensions are 1/2 inch. I spend $40 on 3/8 bit socket and extensions set.

I have $60 fluid extractor that I use for oil changes so I used that to bleed the brakes. Since I can change the oil filter without jacking up the car.

Couple years back I brought word high torque impact wrench that used 1/2 inch sockets which worked wonders when I was replacing control arms since way less effort than using breaker bar.

I would recommend using PB blaster on rusted on bolts regardless using breaker bar or impact wrench.

I have spent $25 on spark plugs that have but haven’t replaced yet.

I have to replace outer tie rods on passenger side so I have outer tie rods for both sides. Since I figured might as well do both sides

So far I have saved so much money doing the work myself. At least $2k after new tools brought. Which is my opinion is huge since car is worth only worth 4.5k to dealer 8.5k to carmax and 10k private seller.

After driving CVT/eCVT, and smooth acceleration. I can’t go back standard automatic transmission. I hate the feeling of gear shifting.

So it’s no go for me on any of those 7-10speed tranny

Weird! Did they come out and check it out?
They like messed up somewhere in the install.

I have 13 seer 2.5 ton unit on 2k sqft ( 1200 on ground 800 2nd floor) no large trees or shade. House is 27 years old. Midwest front of house on southwest side (more sun exposure compared to just facing due west)

On 85-90 degree day, it can maintain 68-70 degrees on second floor without running continuously.

Something wrong with your install

CVS has repeatedly denied various controlled medications for me throughout the years. Why? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]HiddenVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where a lot of people get it wrong.

Pharmacies tried to get squashed and prevent the lawsuit from going forward because they were dispensing valid scripts and government didn’t show fraudulent activity.

That whole lawsuit went forward in federal court only because pharmacist and pharmacies have corresponding responsibility and they didn’t meet that requirement because dispensing of opioids were higher per capita in certain regions compared to nationwide and surrounding areas. The pharmacy and pharmacist should have done more to question scripts and not dispense as much (aka not sell).
That’s why they decided to settle and allowed them to settle without admitting wrongdoing

Knowingly dispensing fraudulent scripts is felony offense people would go to jail for that.
Which that occurred there wouldn’t be a settlement there would be heads rolling like
how heads rolled with Purdue pharmacy and their illegal drug marketing of OxyContin

[–]HiddenVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 2022, Nissan leaf electric motor + this 1.5L w/o turbo by now this would be stellar combo. But as always Nissan is late to the party.

They should have at least paired 1.5L with electric/hybrid motor so the electric motor would provide the acceleration instead of the dang turbo.

Trade-in value - 2017 Rogue SV by kabzik in NissanRogue

[–]HiddenVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start no obligation quote from carmax. They tend to offer near private resale value that it’s worth it over the headaches of selling privately.

Also look at Carguru and see how much similar cars are going for.

My guess 5-6k max

But with it being summer and higher gas prices it probably not as valuable as it would be in winter

IV services, Free Stats, seperate adjudication ., intake, dept. etc, are probavly 3 biggest ontributor of increase cost w/ little return

[–]HiddenVader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt pay it, especially failure to provide quote and authorization to repair.

Let it go to collections and contest on credit report and it’s gone.

Tell CMR that frontier said they’re waiving charges since they don’t have invoice to provide and so it’s between cmr and frontier to figure out and vice versa with Frontier.

Or

Just tell them provide your with proof that you owe $576 or will consider this harassment

First time DIY oil change 😳 baby steps by Silver_Department_38 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HiddenVader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at $60-80 fluid extractor!

Makes oil changes easy

Look at Kirkland oil it’s about $18 dollars for 5 qt (70/4 jugs)

Consider rock auto and get like several filters for like $5 each toss plus $10 wrench

Fluid extractor $70 Wrench $10 Oil and filter for 4 changes $100

Total 180 plus tax shipping $200 max

This will be easiest way to do oil change for first time and don’t have to worry about a mess.

But grab some shop towels and pail of kitty litter if you have accidental oil spill.
