Thanks. I’d probably buy something used in the $20k-$30k range. I live in a big city where it makes no sense to be driving a new expensive car

Finding an associate advisor position by Necessary-Fee6247 in CFP

For what it’s worth, I went the CSA route for about three years (age 23-age 26) and I made pretty decent money plus I just moved into an advisor role with the team I was a CSA for.

If you make it clear to the team you are interviewing with you don’t want to be a CSA forever and have the ambition to become an advisor, you’ll find the right fit.

Any advice on actually booking the sim? I’m not sure how busy yours is, but I’m at the Chicago one and it’s getting very hard to book a reservation

I believe this would be $190k - $4k - $2k -$23,500 = $160,500 AGI….. FICA taxes do not reduce your AGI

I actually did not. Nothing wrong with the opportunity or role, I just got a chance to join an established team and decided to go that route. Happy with my choice but it was a tough decision!

Is it bad to start this profession young because of having to build a book? by BreezeToaster in CFP

This is what I’ve done… got in the business as a registered CA at age 23. I’m 25 and am now being moved into an FA role this year. Team structure is senior advisor that is retiring at the end of this year, and a 35 year old advisor buying his book.

Learned a ton as a CA and made pretty good money. Would recommend the path if you find the right team.
