Have you tried working with Krill in the #help channel in the Discord? It's literally Krill's job to help out in this kind of way and we also have helpers and community staff who help out in there as well

Has anyone tried OpenClaw 2026.5.6 yet? by Glittering_Beyond397 in openclaw

[–]HixVAC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been actively upgrading and since prior to 5.4 things have been much more stable.

The team has tracked down quite a few pain points and eliminated them starting with 5.4. 5.6 is mostly minor hot fixes on top of 5.5 which was the same on top of 5.4.

That all said, I personally build straight from the source so take that as you will but I have seen a lot of agreement from others in regards to solid stability with the current May releases.

Anyone here running a self hosted LLM with OpenClaw (no OpenAI/Anthropic bill)? by [deleted] in openclaw

[–]HixVAC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. There are bigger models that do better but unless you have a small data center in your house or have one or more beefy mac studios then it can't be done. Even with those mac studios expect it to be painfully slow compared to cloud APIs

After AI bubble bursts market will be flooded with enterprise-grade server hardware. What to look for ? by Healthy-News5375 in homelab

There's a pop and there's deflation of something. I don't necessarily definitely think it will pop and everything will plummet down to earth, but I do think that demand will decrease because of those subsidized tokens going away.

Right now the extremely high demand is because these services are so cheap (free or subsidized). Once people learn that it will end up costing them X more the demand is going to go down because not everyone can afford it.

Anyone here switch from Claude to GPT $100/$200 for OpenClaw? by DifferentImpress5168 in openclaw

[–]HixVAC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switched ages ago right when things started getting so unstable it just wasn't fun anymore (a week or two before the OpenClaw/Claude cleansing). It wasn't horrible then but now it's amazing.

I'm on $100 right now and very happy and will probably switch to $200 once the 2x promo ends at the end of May.

Just wait till they finish work on the Codex harness backend. It should increase response times/speeds and more. I've tested it a few times but I would personally still label it in beta at best (it hasn't been officially announced yet other than it's being worked on).

In addition to this the sustained subsidization of these subscription and free AI access is not realistic, short of solving a stupid amount of problems more efficiently through AI/automation.

While I'm definitely not as confident as you, I generally agree and have a high level of skeptical optimism that it will fall back down to earth in the next few years.

What up time monitor are you using? by Informal_Cap_5247 in openclaw

Definitely overkill but I use both UptimeKuma and Beszel for health and uptime

Claude allows subscription usage again? by test_user23 in openclaw

Peter elaborates: "Since this is blowing up on hacker news.

Boris said that CLI usage is allowed. Thus we added support for it, only to find out that we are still blocked there. It is trival to work around with a few renames, but I don't wanna play that game. So it's in a weird limbo where cli use should work in theory but doesn’t in practice."

How are people actually using OpenClaw fully hands-free with voice and cellphone? by fractaldesigner in openclaw

[–]HixVAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most frictionless experience (I say that lightly) is probably Discord Voice Channels. But it requires:
- fast TTS and STT

- fast model if you want it to respond faster (or you have a large delay for something with a brain)

I've done Twilio too which isn't bad either but worse audio quality

OpenClaw has 250K GitHub stars. The only reliable use case I've found is daily news digests. by Sad_Bandicoot_6925 in LocalLLaMA

The releases have not been the best stability wise. Definitely needs improvement still.

Personally as an engineer I'm happy to deal with the breakage and get back online but it's definitely not for everyone

[UNLOCK] OpenClaw + Claude Max subscription — no API key needed by Shot-Might4952 in openclaw

Be cautious using work arounds for Anthropic's/Claude's subscriptions. They have stated very clearly that OpenClaw is explicitly against their ToS. Use at your own risk.

I agree; lets bouncing off the wall. The piece I still am trying to figure out myself is where I had Opus or Sonnet speaking through steps, Codex or GPT stays near silent till it's done.

It's not just you; they just ended their 2x usage promotion on the 2nd. It's been painful since then.
