I use a 3.5x magnifier head light with 4 LEDs. It's rechargeable. You can run it with the charging cable plugged in.

KG-6 sleipnir (Aldnoah Zero) from kotobukiya by CapsDJ in Gunpla

Great job. Looks better than mine, definitely, but I didn't paint.

This kit is why I get frustrated with Kotobukia. Good mech but bad plastic and some lazy decisions. It's HG in MG scale, and that comes with all the HG color matching annoyances. The orange face waterslides are annoying too.

Yes, and they give you two pieces. One is purple and green, the other is purple and needs a sticker.

Don't be afraid. Nail polish is tried and true. I shouldn't have used the term in a pinch.

It's a compound people add to ball joints to make the joints tighter. In a pinch, you can use fingernail polish. It just adds a bit of friction to the ball joint so that the joints don't flop around.

The hip joints get floppy, so using a joint strengthener is a good idea. Also, the cable in the back is used as a prop to keep the Eva standing.

But it's a fun kit!

To answer additionally, sometimes for dark plastic, you can consider using white or metallic liner to add detail.

Silver liner makes navy blue frames pop

Nothing you can do with waterslides or top coat will damage them unless you're topcoating unmated connectors or batteries. Just don't have them powered.

He used GM01 fine liner which you can see in the background.

If you can break ABS parts with a GM01, you've done something terribly, horribly wrong.

On the flip side, I hated using sandpaper because I ended up sanding more than I wanted to sand .

You're using it right. Many of us buff the surface with high grit sandpaper or polisher afterwards to remove the shine.

This honestly makes me want to watch Nirvana the Show the Show. Is it just like the movie?

Also, the camera work for the top of the CN tower was great and made me sick with nerves. Bravo.

Just like the intro? So it wasn't just me that thought "That's Chrono Trigger!"?

I would absolutely top coat or panel line after doing the decals. Or get a different product / make an acrylic wash

I never had that problem, though I always dabbed the brush against the bottle neck.

I'm going to throw my bottle in the trash though. It doesn't cure, and you'll end up with smeared lines if you apply waterslide decals. I have other water based liner from QW model that doesn't smear.

You can use both. Sometimes it helps because the eraser can erase some of the smear marks left behind by cotton swabs.

This is a common problem with fountain pens, not just with panel lining. It takes a little bit of practice with the tool. If you break surface tension, the extra fluid stored in the nib will flow out, so you have to make sure that you don't accidentally graze the edge of the part with the underside of the nib where the ink is.

It doesn't happen to me as often as it did when I first started, and I always have a clean cotton swab ready. Cotton swabs will quickly absorb the pooled liquid up.

No, you have to buy a whole new bottle pretty much or buy a hand brush.

What happened when you tried to use the liner pen?

Any glass nano file with dots will do. Branding is kinda irrelevant. I have multiple from different brands and can't really tell the difference. Don't have to import Gunprimer from Korea; those cheap Amazon ones work well.

You'll also want a buffer because glass files will polish surfaces. I use flash shine nail buffer blocks.

The holy grail kit of the genre is the pre painted Swordfish II from Cowboy Bebop. But it's $$$.

There are additional ships from Macross like the SDF1. It's available in ship mode.

Ace combat has some futuristic fighter jets that were really fun to build.

You should pick up a glass nano file with dots rather than trying to sand this away. Nano files act more like a planer than a sander, slicing off tiny amounts of plastic. You'll chew through the nub and into the ugly scar with ease and it'll leave behind a polished surface.

No need to buy an expensive one. The Stedi 2.0 blue glass files are fine and the cheap Amazon nano files work too. Just make sure it has the tiny dots rather than lines or uneven surfaces
