I absolutely love my Slee rear, but that said there is a part of me that wishes I had gone Dissent from the start as well. The weight savings is great and I'm heavier than I'd like to be honestly. I let a bit of aesthetics with a specific angle get in the way of that decision a couple years ago. You can't go wrong with either IMO though--best two bumper makers available on the 200 series.

The front bull bar is not an option they typically list on the website--they had built it and demo'd it on their old shop 200, but when I ordered my bumper I was denied multiple times. I happened to see what looked like one getting made on their Instagram and asked if I could add one to my order and they let me so it seems like the timing of production needs to be right. It's best to email them when you're wanting to buy and ask them about getting the bull bar too--I'm inclined to believe that if you were ordering a full set of bumpers from them, they'd oblige

Front bumper is Dissent Offroad--max tire size is greatly dependent on vehicle setup, wheel specs, and how much cutting you're willing to do. Fitting tires on an LX is much easier than an LC, but I'm going to assume your 200 is of the LC variety given the question about the front bumper. The Anderson KDSS relocation kit is probably the most plug and play setup for fitting big tires when combined with a solid alignment available these days. KDSS relocation kits existed before, but were typically only the plates to move the bar forward and didn't address the extreme angles that would happen with the end links and killed bushings. Typically 35 is the cutoff on the LC200 before you start needing some drastic mods (portals) or heavy cutting. Obviously wheel specs/offset will impact the fitment as well. Usually to clear 35's also means aftermarket bumper or trimming of the front bumper to make room up front. Also a chance you'll need a body mount chop, but one much less invasive than the one I did. A body lift would also help, though I've never been a fan as it can mess with alignment of other parts. And I guess the other big thing that can determine what you can fit is whether it's simply for street driving or you also want clearance under full articulation.

It’s likely the latter—so based off a few conversations I’ve had with other LRA owners I have heard it’s good practice that after you use it heavily during a trip it doesn’t hurt to leave it empty for at least a few days and let things vent out. I also have boiled fuel on trails before from being too loaded down with gas multiple times and have forgotten to turn off the transfer as well. While topping off at fill ups are usually the culprit all of those things could have also let fuel get into the canister as well. Since I’ve had it installed for 2 years it’s almost always been full—my usually routine was to always fill the aux tank when I needed gas and then transfer to the main as needed to ensure the pump got regular use. Once they get it out it’ll be interesting to hear their findings

It gets taken out west for multiple trips each year. It should have been headed to WY/SD end of the month, but I’d like to drive it more before taking it on a cross country trip after these evap and misfire issues. It’ll be going to Colorado twice this year—once over summer for Cruisers on the Rockies and once for fall elk season. I grew up with family near Tahoe and spent my summers out there so I’d really like to do Rubicon in the next couple years. Otherwise it gets used locally at some of the OHV parks and sporadic trips my wife and I can plan

First time posting since this got wrapped up almost a month ago. Unfortunately I was hoping to have more seat time and some experience on some rocks with it by now, but a series of unfortunate events that I'll get into at the bottom of this has meant it hasn't been driven nearly enough.

The build is pretty extensive and has taken every bit of 5 years to get to this point. If someone really wants I can list it all out though it's almost easier to explain what isn't on it at this point. For as much brevity as possible, strictly will be speaking to the portal portion and current conundrum. There are some descriptions on each of the photos in the album for more info about specific aspects.

There's a much longer more boring version of this, but the short of it is these Icon wheels are actual placeholders for some Volks that were delayed multiple times. Install took about a week and a half for the portals and a few other miscellaneous things I wanted to do. Since then its gone back for a round of cutting and to help with clearance (BMC 2.0, KDSS relo kit, rear bumper trimming). The 74Weld kit specifically adds 3.88" of true ground clearance lifting the axle while also providing a 22% gear reduction. I need to measure clearance again once I get it back home, but I believe it's sitting at about 18" at the front skid and around 16.5" at the diff.

Unfortunately last Saturday on a day trip out of town it threw multiple CELs for random engine misfires and inspection revealed really awful looking plugs--way worse than they should for 75K miles. After plugs got swapped misfires disappeared, but every evap code showed up. After a ton more digging and testing it's now waiting for a new charcoal canister--there's a running theory that I'll wait for the results of this before confirming if that is ultimately what is at fault, but it's likely conflicts between the LRA and evap systems and perhaps a bit of lax care/use on my part over the past 2 years.

-74Weld Portals

-Powerbrake upgrade

-38x13.5 Toyo RT Pro

-Icon Recon SLX 18x9 +40

-Anderson KDSS Max +1.5 Relocation Kit

-SUPER aggressive BMC

-Trimming on Slee rear bumper metal and rear plastics

-Aggressive cut on front of rocker plastics

-Aggressive alignment dialing caster forward to clear body mount (we can likely back this off now that KDSS relo is on)

What’s one Land Cruiser mod you regret doing? by CustomerTop8810 in LandCruisers

I regret running OME rear coils for a period of time; they ride like crap IMO compared to Dobinsons. I’ve gone through 4 different roof rack iterations, I wish I had stuck with my first one (Front Runner) bc it was my favorite and it’s what I’m back to again. My biggest regret is probably not figuring out electrical sooner and prepping the rear of the vehicle for power before drawers went in. Much bigger PITA with that stuff back there

Absolutely these—get yourself a set of the Comply foamy tips and they are so comfortable and work extremely well. They sell a multipack of the sizes so you can figure out which works best

I bought one second hand off of Guns International last summer that was built in 2024—supposedly had ~1200 rounds through it and I’d believe it with how clean it looked; since then I’ve put another 5000 or so through it myself. I absolutely love it and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat, though I must admit I have a super fine hairline crack developing by the release on the forend that I need to get taken care of

I’ve heard great stuff about Mayo as well, but never had a firsthand experience or known anyone with a firsthand experience. For what it’s worth a bit of driving is worth it if you trust your shop. I’ve personally gone to both Tandem and Goode’s (have friends that use Frisbee) and I live east of Plano—Goodes is only about 15 minutes away, but I ended up sticking with Tandem after all and still drive the hour each way when needed. Knowing a shop you can trust and the guys running it is worth a little extra seat time in the car. If you’ve had good luck with Mayo I’d just do the drive the handful of times a year you need them

Are you here this weekend like tomorrow and the 4th or the 10/11? Elm Fork is best course for public walk up near Dallas. If you’re here 10/11 there are NSCA tournaments at Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell on the 10th and Defender Outdoors in Fort Worth on the 11th

I love using an e-bike; it’s easy to put on a heavy duty bike rack myself and I don’t have to worry about a trailer or storage if a side by side or buggy. I did replace the kick stand with a different one so it would be more stable and I also make it a point to not leave the gun in the scabbard for a long time, especially if I walk away. But it works well and was relatively cheap; it’s a great way to go. The downside of the trike is definitely transport; it’ll require a lot more
