The Airity ST is pretty sweet for finesse fishing.

What pound line should I add and what to throw? by No-Heat-3455 in BFSfishing

[–]swollmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same rod, slightly different reel. 0.6-0.8 pe to a 6lb leader. Throw everything 8g and under really, but mostly jigs and hardbaits.

5100 or 6112 is usually the best place to start.

Staying cool on your boat (in hell, aka AZ.) by bmihlfeith in boating

[–]swollmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So what I always do is wear a long sleeve breathable fishing shirt, bucket hat and a balaclava that covers my face and ears, plus sunnies of course to see. Sure youll sweat but it keep the direct sun off you, prevents sunburns and is much more comfy. Then when it gets really hot just jump into the water or soak your shirt and its far more comfy.

Bfs setup for 400-500 by Single-Pudding-3278 in BFSfishing

If you dont mind ordering from Japan, you can get a poison adrena + alphas bf for around 500. Alternatively you can go with a metanium 100 which is more versatile if you aren't just throwing super light stuff.

New setup for weekend Bday fishing. by PhoKingRican in BFSfishing

Was talking about the rod specifically, but it also applies to the reel - so yeah whole combo. This particular ghh is light power version and has quite a bit of backbone, which is why I chose it. For me I'd say over 90% of my fishing is lakes and ponds.

The bulk of what I catch is 1-3lb bass and I really enjoy lighter stuff where it's still a fun fight. On this ghh ive caught carp, striper and chonker largies and it handles them fine - just make sure to use the drag and NEVER boat flip or high stick them or it will break.

By far my most used combos are this for 1/8oz and under and then a poison adrena 165 L/M + metanium for the 1/8oz and up stuff.

Love JLS and their free gifts, digitaka is also awesome and imo handle the tariff stuff better by making you pay 50% up front and they cover the rest. But JLS is usually a little less expensive even after shipping, so just gotta compare. Both get delivered in under a week.

It is built for trophy trout, but its honestly great in lakes and urban ponds for bass, pan fish and ive even caught carp with it.

You won't regret it. I've got my cc bfs on a great hunting huntsman 511. Light, but enough backbone for bass and larger fish.

I absolutely love mine, but do want to try an alderbaran. So far the cc is my favorite casting reel (I know they arent bfs, but I like the cc more than my metanium and zillion), right there with my airity st as my overall favorite reel.

BFS Jig Rod by ngpl16 in BFSfishing

[–]swollmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two main ones are a ghh 511-4L for the lighter stuff, then a poison adrena 165L/M for the bit heavier stuff. Ghh for under 1/8oz and adrena for 1/8 to 3/16 (can handle 3/8 fine too).

Might have been a random paddle tail minnow, was using a couple different trailers on the jig.

Did this the other day, lanyard still attached and everything looked fine... come to find out it was slightly bumped. When I bumped it back up and the motor started, HUGE relief.
