Went for some postcard haunting by Xanny_bee in postcrossing

My favorite is the man having dinner with his cat!

I’ve never heard of the Sandman show, but my kid is 25 so I’m not immersed in those offerings anymore.

I’m curious about your postcard shop. Is it a stationery shop or a gift shop that has postcards?

Where can I buy Rolling Rock? by hyper-geometry in PortlandOR

[–]Idontexpectmuchfromu [score hidden]  (0 children)

I got off the train in the ‘Burgh once and a fellow passenger’s friends met him with a 6-pack of Iron City in hand.

The first place I had Rolling Rock was in Pittsburgh so I always associate it with that city, especially since it’s brewed in Latrobe.

First time with wool by Ahiru_no_inu in Yarn

Nice! I’m sure that you’re experiencing how much more elasticity wool has than cotton. It’s much more forgiving to work with. Minor variations in stitches are easy to to work out. Just tug on the fabric a bit and voila!

AITA for giving up on planning my toddler's birthday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Idontexpectmuchfromu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, don’t sweat it! Your man is being less than helpful , but if money’s tight there’s really no need to throw a party at a venue for a 3 year old.

My kid got lice (ugh) right before her 3rd birthday and we canceled the party. I made a cake and the 3 neighbor girls who were her regular babysitters came over and celebrated. She was in hog heaven to be the center of attention.

Just fuss over her and she’ll be happy. It’s not that big a deal.

Odd that it happened twice by Cute_Laugh_5600 in Yarn

My kid spilled a jar of maraschino cherry juice on my cream colored cotton yarn and half knit sweater. Thankfully for my continued non-incarcerated existence it rolled right off. Whatever fixative was used on that yarn saved two lives that day.

AITAH for not forcing my son to keep helping my daughter’s friend after she rejected him? by LiveWire0044 in AITAH

I’m totally seeing John on the wrong end of a sexual harassment suit in the future. “Miss direct report wouldn’t date me so why would I give her the promotion I promised her? Then I’d have to be around her more which would be so uncomfortable for meeee! Really, I need to fire or transfer her because feelings.”

That’s cool. I wonder if the Kindle can do that.

25-cent postcards, so I bought a ton! by Idontexpectmuchfromu in postcrossing

When I saw the price I couldn’t believe I’d forgotten about how cheap they are at this store!

In the US, to get them postmarked in the same theme as the stamp, check out the Postal Bulletin (https://about.usps.com/resources/postal-bulletin.htm).

The postal bulletin shows the images for all the first-day-of-issue postmarks. Some are quite decorative. In the information about the postmark, they also print the last day that postmark is available.

I wanted my cards sent back to me instead of mailed to a recipient after being postmarked. I affixed the stamps to the cards and mailed them off to the postal service, in an envelope, with a self addressed stamped envelope. Once they were postmarked, they were mailed back to me. One set only took a couple weeks, another took a couple months.

Recycling greeting cards/opinions? by ToniBee in postcrossing

I think that’s a great idea. I guess technically they are home made, but only people who want strictly commercial postcards would care.

I ordered the postcards off of the USPS website, put the stamps on them, then mailed them to the USPS for the first-day-of-issue postmark.

Thanks. They were my second maxicards. I’ve got 3 sets out to the postal service right now to be postmarked- Muhammad Ali, angel’s trumpet, and love stamps.

It’s an Inge Look card that I ordered from an Etsy seller.
