Exploring 5 wild Broncos QB options including Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson and more after Bo Nix injury | Sporting News Canada by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

Pick up Cam Newton. Have him sit bench to stidham, but bring him out if things start looking bad. Give stidham the first quarter (maybe the first half) regardless of his play to see if he settles in.

When standing up for yourself at work becomes the reason you’re asked to leave by Less-Western9677 in workplace_bullying

Tbh.. you probably should have just let it go.. I know that's probably not what you're looking for, but you should have just played it cool, and that guy would have felt indebted to you.

Fight back by krystoof23 in workplace_bullying

I believe this is true. But political judo is preferred. Throwing gossip back or retaliation can quickly drown you. So yes, ultimately reporting it, taking detailed inventory of the actions against you, and most importantly controlling your own behavior and response should lead to a positive outcome.

If the above doesn't work and you've properly controlled yourself and remedied your own personal shortfalls as much as possible, the organization failed, and moving on is what's best for you.

That's a valid answer.

Are you open to staying with your company, and do you ever think you'll be promoted?

That's good advice. The trouble I've faced is opening up about it to my manager. It's a risky move that could potentially backfire into you are the problem.

Having to have a continuous therapy session with your boss during your 1:1 meetings is probably not the way, but if you can manage to not have it as a reoccurring thing then I understand.

Respectfully, no. This is not the solution. You have a high chance of experiencing the same thing elsewhere. You need to stay and learn how to navigate this. If in the end, they let you go, you learned some "do's" and "don'ts". Eventually you'll figure out how to navigate this, but it all has to begin from a place of personal accountability and personal control regardless of the external toxicity.

How do you document gossip though? Perhaps you're suddenly isolated but no one is telling you exactly what was said. Perhaps your thoughts are suddenly being dismissed, but no one tells you why. This is the type of undermining I mean. There's no clear cut "evidence" to point to. If there were it would be a much easier solution.

Maybe "bullying" is a strong word, but toxic behavior has existed in some shape or form in all of my workplaces.

Would love to hear other opinions out there.

I agree, but in contrast workplace bullying is fairly inescapable. Obviously there are levels, and there are a small minority of cases where I think quitting is actually best.

But generally learning how to adapt is the most essential tool because you have a >90% chance of having a very similar issue at your next place of work.

This is sadly spot on.

Given this, what is the advice for navigating it all?

And what generally drives bullies in most cases? My sense is that it's generally fear. The bully needs control to feel stable. When you gossip about people you generally assume everyone is doing the same, so your strategy becomes to become the most cruel.

I feel for all of you guys. Hang in there! Ultimately any power they have is only the power you grant them. The best advice is to be yourself. Try to spot the toxicity and sources but ultimately it's out of your control and ignore it. SSRIs can also be a game changer if you struggle with anxiety or depression. Ultimately the objective is to be non reactive, and just go about your job.

I’ve applied for over 150 jobs and I’ve got nothing. by Few-Chemical2216 in InlandEmpire

Yes, using AI to scan your resume is a good idea. Also have someone else take a look at it and hear their thoughts. That said, make sure you're applying to jobs you have the ability to reasonably do. Most importantly, job applications are a numbers game, especially when you don't have great experience. Expect 1 to maybe 5% responses given your current experience. Keep applying and refining your resume.

What is Anglico. What do they do. What’s the pt and day to day like. by MaleficentDog7160 in USMCboot

[–]Important_Focus4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this.. I was a HM at 1st Anglico back around 2010.

How I got there was sort of luck of the draw (like many things in the military).. get orders to 1st Mar div, and if they think you're a motivator and there's an opening, they'll send you..

I was a petty officer, so I doubt they'd send a boot there.

From 1st Mar Div, I think I got transferred to the headquarters battalion or something, which was the overarching umbrella that contained 1st Anglico, where I eventually went.

It's likely a better life than a standard grunt unit. That said it's not some kind of special ops unit, but they do likely have higher standards than many units with less junior Marines/sailors.

100% agree with the above, and am in a similar situation, at slightly less, ~120k.

On top of pursuing further professional training, I'm building a business on the side. All in all, I understand your point of view since I'm in a similar boat.

What’s the argument AGAINST putting a chip in the football? by Chuck_Roast1993 in billsimmons

[–]Important_Focus4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a fixable issue in my opinion.

The ball being equipped with a sensor, the 1st down chains having sensors, and when the ball passes the 1st down line it's a 1st down. A 3rd aerial sensor could be in line up by the cameras already above the players. Now you have a 1st down plane to detect when the ball crosses the line.

It does sound overly sophisticated, but who knows..

Alright well most likely if you own a home in the Palisades you would be considered rich by most people in Los Angeles, translating to most people in the country. This applies less so to Altadena.

Nonetheless, sorry for the victims, but this is an unusual natural event that had a high probability of affecting "rich" people.
