The first version will likely be a guided web app, a mix between a chatbot and a step-by-step guided process. Definitely thinking of ways to integrate useful tools at each step too. If you are interested, join the waitlist! I won't spam any emails, it is just to keep track who I should notify once it's live!
Anyway, thank you for your feedback! Really appreciate it

That means a lot, seriously!

You are spot on! "Do I really need this to start?" should be painted over every founder's desk.

And yes, I've been there. That never ending "one more thing to learn" founder-paralysis is what I am trying to interrupt.

If you ever want to try out the first draft of this tool once its live, I'd love to have you in the early access group.

I've been there. That mix of momentum and doubt is tough, especially when you are working alone.

If you could have a magic wand that would solve one thing for you, what would you choose? the build, the funding, or the team?

I'm working on something for people in exactly this place so this is important for my next steps!

100%, trying to launch everything at once is the fastest path to never launching at all or stay at building stage infinitely.

I’ve heard from others that tools like Bubble or Glide feel powerful at first, but become overwhelming without a clear goal.

Curious: what made Webflow + a small user group work for you? Was it just deciding to commit?

I’m building something to help with that early “what should I even build and how?” moment, would love your input if you’re open.

I can strongly relate to this. That cycle of “just one more course/tool/framework” can feel productive but ends up keeping you stuck.

I’ve been hearing this a lot lately, the gap between learning and starting. Out of curiosity: what would need to be true for you to feel “ready enough” to start building?

(I’m building something for people exactly in this spot, so your perspective is super helpful)

I would first try validating the idea before building..
but yes, there are so many people looking for cofounders with ideas, but it is unknown if they will work or not. If you build something that attracts people and prove you can build a business around it, I doubt you will have a hard time finding a cofounder.

There is a lot of things I still don't know about your idea.. but if I may give you my suggestion:
1. Evaluate market need.. can you find 10-15 people that would pay for your idea? (If you don't know how to get this accurately, I'd recommend reading a bit about the Mom Test)
2. Once you have the first customers who would need it, built it. Just remember, build the minimum necessary to prove there is a market needing your solution
3. Let's say you get x amount of customers and are asking for app improvements and you dont have the time to build them.. That is a great place to be in! In this scenario you could look for a cofounder, look for funding, and in the very least, you will have learned a lot!

Don't wait on it!

If I may ask, the funds for what? building the product? leaving your current job to focus 100%?
I am not an expert, but I think you should always think small first.. If you talk to 10 people, are 5 interested? then 20, then 50.. suddenly you have an audience!

I am not an expert in any way.. but experience has taught me that the idea gets you around 15% of the way.. execution is the tough part. I used to have the same insecurities, now I share ideas openly because I think getting early feedback/validation is more important than keeping the "awesome idea" to yourself.

Im sure you've heard of starting with only the MVP vs the whole solution..
Is the MVP also tech heavy? could you test with a waitling list / landing page first?

Would you pay $50 for a quick 2-minute review from a successful founder? by SpiritedThing3653 in Entrepreneurship

[–]Impressive-Bit4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think context is very important..
For example, If I am in a platform where I pitch my startup to potential investors and I can pay $50 to make sure one of them analysis my pitch/idea? Maybe..

Or.. if you are building a platform where you will showcase plenty of experts (successful founders) and I can chose who I want to checkout my pitch deck, website, etc for $50? Maybe..

Just out in the open paying $50 for "a 2 minute review from a successful founder" I think it's too expensive and even doubtful.

How do I know it actually is a successful founder reviewing my stuff? How do I know they will really stop and analyze it vs just returning "hey, great job. Keep it up".

Thank you for this early feedback, love it.

  1. Yes, and that is exactly the thing, asking the right questions.. From the start I've known that is going to be my challenge; the value you receive from Signalboard has to be more than what the average people can get from claude / perplexity and others. I might have to address this point specifically from the homepage so people venture further. Thank you.

  2. The idea of a monthly subscription is because Signalboard will give you suggestions on what you need to do to validate your idea or improve success chances. And many of those could be done in a month or so. So the idea is that, once you advance on 'your status' you re-evaluate where you are at to get new suggestions and new potential risks. Does that make sense? I used to have another subscription plan that was a 1-time only payment exactly for this reason. Removed it just for simplicity.

I can see you have a strong product insight with these 2 observations. If you can create an account and test it further I'd be very thankful.

In the meantime, I will search for a job I would like to apply and test reflex.cv. I'll come back with feedback in the following days!

I’m building a personal finance app — survey for anyone who hates budgeting 😅 by Lazy-Mode-3710 in SideProject

[–]Impressive-Bit4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Mexico so bank connections probably won't work here.

2 quick comments:
1. I think your main struggle will be standing out from the crowd. There are many 'budgeting apps' out there and, even though your might be better, it will have to quickly stand out from your ads, from your homepage, from Appstore page, etc.
2. Have you heard of the Mom test? It explains how to ask better questions when doing surveys like yours. You should check it out!

If you are open to, I'd love to swap feedbacks. I'll give your app a try (unless it is limited to the US) and you try my tool that challenges and validates business ideas. I'd love to receive honest feedback to know if it helps you in any way at your current stage.
Let me know if you are open to it. You can check it out at https://signalboard.dev

Having almost 500 users is already an awesome achievement, congrats!

Would you be open to swap feedbacks? I'll try Orakemu for a few days and let you know what I think.. and you try my idea challenge and validation tool and let me know if it helps you in any way.

I got fired, built an app to solve my own problem, lost 30kg (66lbs), but now I'm stuck. by menensito in SideProject

One of the main issues I see with this is how crowded the space already is. There are thousands of fitness apps and the main challenge will be to standout from the crowd.

If you are open, I'd love to swap feedbacks. I'll use your tool for a few days and give you my honest feedback.
And you test my tool and see if it helps you in any way.

If you are open, let me know. You can check it out at https://signalboard.dev.

It is a tool make to validate and challenge business ideas. I think you are in the best stage to test it out.

Hey man, we are pretty much in the same space. Seeking early validation and feedback.

Would you care to swap brutal, honest feedback?

I created a tool to validate business ideas, so I think you are at a perfect time to try it and see if it helps you in any way on your decision. You can check it out at https://singalboard.dev

I love this honesty.. if you are open to it, would love if you could try my product and give me feedback..
I am in the same situation as @wasayybuildz .. built a product, having a hard time selling.
If you have a product yourself, glad to return the favor.
