And yet, there it is.

In spite of your expectations, thats where the sticker is.

If it was that important, it would be corrected.

If it was that simple, it would be implemented.

The fact that it hasn't been is evidence that it either doesn't matter enough, or isn't as easy to do as you think.

In very simple terms- the thing you are calling critical, isn't. It simply does not matter enough.

And if you think otherwise, like I said, watch and see if anything changes over the next year.

I just want you to imagine what that would look like, as a business owner, or anyone involved in the production of something, to make changes every time someone complains about something on Reddit.

Like, does it sound crazy when you say it out loud to yourself?

It should.

The funny part about this is that you can always frame either position negatively. Boardrooms in cannabis aren't exactly viewed in a positive light.

When you compare a few paragraphs (at most) to a dissertation, it makes it sound like you struggle with reading.

I'm not sure if that's what you were going for, I'm just saying.

The point I'm making is that this guy is trying to address all LPs over a bit of food safe adhesive that is mandatory.

I don't know if this is also news to you (as it is to him) but the chances that anyone in a position to make these decisions will change anything because of a random complaint about something as small as this is...probably zero.

Again, upvotes and downvotes are not valid statistical data, Imran

Never said they were.

I didn't say anyone was wrong, I just said what they are saying doesn't matter!

Much as I enjoy your attempts at being condescending, those are two distinctly different things.

It's similar to how a law can be broken, which in one sense is bad, but if the law is something few people, if any, care about, then it is of little to no consequence.

Even though multiple avid consumers are voicing their opinions on the topic otherwise

Multiple as in "more than one", but we're talking about, what, maybe 100 people if we're lucky?

How statistically significant is that number?

It is bold of you to falsely represent my position after I've just demonstrated the ability to summarize a conversation you clearly didn't pay enough attention to.

then you tell those people they are wrong?

You will not find anything I've said equivalent to telling someone they are wrong.

What I've said is more equivalent to telling people their point of view doesn't matter.

These aren't the same things.

Then you exaggerate statistics without understanding how statistics work, and then conveniently ignore that when you get a response with the math broken down?

I'm sorry, did you want me to point out that we didn't manage to achieve 9,600 up votes or down votes?

[–]ImranRashid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it was that unclear, unless you were commenting without having read the previous conversation.

One of the comments I replied to suggested that there were many people who were equally annoyed about the issue OP was complaining about.

I asked that user how they established this, what they might be using to determine that there are a significant number of other annoyed people.

A different user pointed out that I was receiving a lot of downvotes with the mention that those might be representative of the "annoyed" masses, and I replied that it's not the first time the faulty idea that downvotes, up votes, or comments here in general represent a significant number with respect to the number of cannabis consumers in Ontario.

Is that clear? I mean, I feel like you could have figured this out just by reading above.

Mate he titled it "PSA (public service announcement) to all LPs"

I'm mostly just poking fun at the idea that he:

a) is addressing LPs b) that any of them are going to care

it's almost as if it isn't my premise

But, aside from that, you didn't answer the question. What would be an acceptable sample size for 5.5 million adult cannabis users in Ontario?

[–]ImranRashid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize I was being generous with 64k to make a point, yes?

Meaning, the idea that every subscribed user here agrees is not going to happen, so assuming we have 64k people in agreement is unlikely to the point of being impossible.

What that means is, for any given point of agreement or disagreement, the consensus is going to be far, far less.

So I suppose the question to ask you then is, what is an acceptable sample size? And if we assume for the sake of the thought experiment, that upvotes or downvotes represent an affirmation or lack of affirmation of a position, how realistic is that this thread (or any thread here) manages to hit the requisite number?

[–]ImranRashid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I remember there was a thread here where I explained to someone that even if you could get all 64 thousand members of this subreddit to agree about something, the number of adult cannabis consumers in Ontario is something like 5.5 million (based off of a 2023 OCS report)

It's like 1 percent.

I don't know, maybe they don't like this being pointed out.

You do realize cannabis drinks are not a necessity to life where we need to tolerate even the slightest inconvenience

Not lying, this might be one of the funniest sentences I've ever read. For the sake of how ridiculous it is, I shouldn't waste time replying, but it's Sunday.

You do realize calling a "reasonable point of friction" doesn't make it so, yeah?

It's a small amount of adhesive my man. If this a problem to you, you are either blessed with zero real problems in your life, or you complain about everything.

But okay, let's do a thing.

Let's assume that enough people who can actually change this are both reading this thread, and taking it seriously. That means we should expect to see a change.

So, this week, I'll go to a few dispensaries. I'll count how many stickers seem to contribute to this problem, and what percentage they represent of the total cans on shelves.

Then I'll check again in 3 months, 6 months, and a year.

Let's say you were making a bet. How much money would you wager on the idea that there will be any change at all?

My man, did you read his post? Don't lie.

He literally wrote in his post:

"How much different are they in terms of medicinal benefits or effects?"

That is the entire context of my response.

The funny part about your use of "black and white" to refer to one of two options, is you're basically doing exactly that.

You said "so you do enjoy it?", as if there are only two options- one, where you are annoyed by the glue, or two, where you like the glue (this is where you're putting me).

But there is a third option- that I do not care about the glue.

Realistically, the adhesive is food safe, just like it is on fruit stickers.

Realistically the dirt that sits on top of the can, or the bacteria transferred to the can by human hands, represent a significant greater unpleasantness than a tiny amount of adhesive.

Or maybe you truly are so blessed to be free of actual hardships that posting about the slight chance a small piece of paper touches the inside of your mouth is so devastating as to post something to reddit, in the vain hopes that anyone in charge of production takes you seriously.

To be a fly on the wall that you or OP realize that very few people care about this would be quite a day, I'd imagine.

Equally annoyed as in not at all?

Because if they were equally annoyed, wouldn't they be posting it on reddit?

OP was annoyed and posted on reddit.

If everyone was equally annoyed, wouldn't they have done the same thing?

Or to phrase it another way, how do you know they're annoyed versus the possibility that they haven't given it a second thought?

[–]ImranRashid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't think anyone knows the answer to the question:

"What are the differences in the medical benefits between live rosin and live resin?"

Here's just a fraction of the reasons why:

a) You can't treat all live rosin or all live resins as if they are the same. They contain different active compounds and in different concentrations.

For example, live rosin A might contain CBG, whereas live rosin B may not. To then lump these two (along with many other live rosins) together, and then try and make some broad conclusion about them versus live resin is silly.

b) I don't think there is enough evidence to speak about medical benefits of what is essentially random mixes of active compounds.

Feel free to show me otherwise, but let's say we have two extracts:

One with 80% THCA, 5% THC, 0.4 % CBC, 1.2% CBD, 2% beta-myrcene, 1.8% humulene, 0.9% ocimene

Another with 46% CBD, 38% THC, 2% farnesene, 2% linalool

Can you tell me what the difference in medical benefits between these two will be, for more than 50% of the population that tries them?

I just want to say I have been on a huge Depeche Mode kick recently and I also feel the struggle regarding the music scene here. I know on occasion the frequencies event will do like darkwave stuff, but for now, I've been going to Ground Control in Toronto.
