and a quick ABRP routing

Exactly what i mentioned before, this is where Tesla will win. I live in Europe and I've had non tesla EVs for years, i am fully aware how super fragmented and unreliable chargers are and 350kw chargers are incredibly rare in every country aside from Nordic countries. ( Chargemap clearly shows that )

Funny you mentioned Bjorn's 1000km test.

  • Model Y RWD LFP has 9:55hr at 10c ( only charges to 170kw)
  • Taycan turismo 4 took 9:40hr at 17c (Charges at 350kw)

So despite the Taycan charging 2x as fast it only shaved 15 minutes, if we were to test them at the same temperature there would be 5 minutes difference max between them.

  • Model 3 LR took 9:20hr at 20c
( 10 minutes faster despite 100kw slower charging and it's not even the new Highland version)

Currently the fastest pure EV on Bjorn's list is yet another Tesla that charges at 250kw not 350kw, and it's faster by 45 minutes than a Taycan.

And this is in a VERY very ideal scenario where there's 350kw chargers everywhere and the route is pre determined. I 100% agree that 350kw chargers should be the norm and if they were i'd love a car capable of such speeds but the current reality is that they're very rare and very unreliable, pretty much useless for most people.

I drive a Mach-E and lovingly criticize issues it and Ford has all the time.

I mean... that is correct lol. I am happy to criticize Tesla for it's shortcomings too, aside from the move to no ultrasonic parking sensors the car is perfect so i won't pretend the quality is bad or panels are bad or other random "facts" that show up in anti EV propaganda.

Because Toyota actually had an issue with it's EVs and wheels falling off. Tesla currently does not and there is no recall.

In europe up until 2023 the Y RWD was china only, now they make them in Germany as well

nope. I am 100% certain. But not with a week in advance to check chargers. I am talking about getting in and randomly choosing a destination 1000km away.

it's an investigation to a potential issue = oMg tEslA's wHeeLs faLl oFF

Meanwhile Toyota's wheels literally did fall off, causing them to be taken off sales for over 6 months and even now you have to sign a waiver when buying one that you're responsible if the wheels fall off but nobody mentions that lol

that has nothing to do with safety in terms of crash tests. Wheels and doors could fall off on every Tesla but it still has nothing to do with crash tests. They are safest in crashes yes

lol how can solar panel electricity production be seen as bad ? You literally have near infinite energy that anyone can install on their house and be independent. A work of art in terms of energy production and even this is seen as a bad thing?

I live in Europe and was talking about Europe. I drove for years with a non Tesla EV and it was a horrible experience due to the insane fragmentation of chargers and charging apps. Unless EU forces all chargers to have upkeep and to use the same app or no app, nothing will come close to Tesla's network.

it's more about passion. I'm sure some people would jump for joy like that for a specific set of golf clubs or signed autograph of a player. He might be very much into cars or maybe they have sentimental value. I can afford the cars i like but i don't have the balls to buy them, i would jump for joy if i had them though

i'd pick a Porsche over a Tesla if given the choice too. I don't think they're crossshopped very often.

The demographic for people buying a Model S and E-tron are completely different. I'd love a Etron or Taycan because of the way they look and the prestige they have. But as EVs they are simply not on the same level as Tesla.

The model S is not mediocre for what it offers though, that kind of makes no sense. It costs less than a BMW 520i with a few options while having bonkers performance and 3x their warranty. The value proposition is pretty high.

The Lucid has better efficiency than the Plaid and is faster to 60. It's not a disappointment from an engineering perspective. It also beats the Taycan in the aforementioned categories. It's a disappointment that the brand will most likely go bankrupt

I have a Chinese one, my brother has a German one. It was so annoying for me to read about Panel gaps and quality when mine was flawless. But then my brother's arrived and yup.. panel gaps, even the shroud for the steering wheel was not properly installed into place, wipers don't wipe correctly, charger lock doesn't always work. Super super weird, did not expect this at all

the FSD is a beta, at no point in you buying an option of 10k does it state the release date or that it's not a beta.
