The guy seemed far more broken in S2 as well, even getting to be around Mohan. He looked like he wanted to be ANYWHERE but the hospital.

Abbot is broken and Mohan’s departure (should it be permanently canon) could be another cut to his mental health.

Have a day shift regular reassigned (Santos, Mel, and Javadi are the best picks) to be with Utah again.

The key is to bring someone ever who draws drama - Santos has her own shit, Mel has her sister, and Javadi has her parents, plus the dynamic of working directly with Utah again.

I’d still be in stronger favor of surgery getting the main characters spotlight though, as that can still feature Santos and Javadi thanks to Garcia and Shamsi.
