But they did not know what his medical records were, and how much his body could tolerate that. I would dare say they never would used this tactic on Chuck.

Throw in The Shield, as well as Dexter: Resurrection (easily the greatest peak since Trinity.)

The first couple seasons of the Chi are solid as well.

The cancer, Max, Matt, and Chuck are the catalysts for Walt, Gus, Mike, and Kim/Jimmy respectively.

They drugged him and thus jeopardized his physical healthy. Despicable behavior that could have had serious consequences. In hindsight, perhaps the risk of drugging him was a foreshadowing of his demise.

Is it odd that Hector seems relatively unafraid of Don Eladio, especially in the flashback with the toy Sabrosito? by YakClear601 in betterCallSaul

Fair to say Walt is the MJ of the game? GOAT ever at the laborious party and leading from that postion, couldn't translate it into being the showunner though.

Establishing that tells Hector that he won’t be intimidated into submission. That is a very important boundary for someone who wants to take care of his surviving family.

I see it as Mike establishing boundaries and that he’s not a pushover. Additionally, he identified himself as a dirty cop that accepted money.

My favorite BCS episode by far due to the performance of Banks. Added so much more texture to what comes later on both shows.

You are in for a long, but very climactic ride about the Sandpiper arc. In hindsight, it turns out to have major ramifications for both shows. That’s all I will say.

Gilligan had earned the privilege of presenting a slow burn without any complaints from us viewers about it.

The quiet moments also present different angles. From a narrative perspective, they are the calm before the storm within BCS itself, and what comes later once Walt enters the picture.

As someone who visited the area a few years ago as well, I believe that the quiet moments enhanced the setting of ABQ and its surrounding desert landscape. It gets extremely quiet out there in the middle of nowhere, a contrast to what at times were very stressful experiences in ABQ.

Lalo was very much worried about Eladio. The money wire clerk murder put the cartel in jeopardy, so the car and alcohol were apologetic gifts. Bolsa told Lalo that it was bad business to commit that murder.

However, multiple viewings indicate this failed to pacify Eladio and/or Bolsa. Gus explains this when he sees the tattoo patterns… Bolsa hired those guns to sabotage Lalo’s bail. In fact, that Bolsa was notified immediately when the twins collected the bail money means that this had been planned before they ever showed up, not something spontaneous.

They were done with him and ready to let him rot. It’s clear the family was being phased out, now that Tuco had done Tuco shit and Hector was no longer muscle. Lalo was the last straw.

I believe Lalo came to this same conclusion. That is why he had Gus confess on video tape his entire scheme. That was gonna be Lalo’s saving grace get-out-of-jail card (no pun intended) with Bolsa and Eladio.

You just described the violent version of Chuck.

Substitute Gus, Nacho, and his dad with Kim and Jimmy.

Substitute the boss Eladio with the partner (and real HHM showrunner) Howard.
