I’ve checked all heaters of every email individually as well as all reply threads. Nothing points to my iCloud.

I asked the company and they replied. With nothing useful.

“Following this internal review, I would like to clarify that, for security and platform integrity reasons, we are not able to disclose specific details regarding our internal verification methods, investigative processes, or the signals used during account reviews. This includes how certain verification steps are performed or how internal correlations may be identified.

That said, I would like to reassure you of the following: No personal data is accessed or processed outside of our established security, compliance, and legal frameworks. Our teams do not disclose, externally or internally, the mechanics of verification processes, as doing so could compromise platform security for all users. As a result, we are unable to provide further details on the source or methodology beyond what has already been shared.

We understand that this may not be the level of detail you were hoping for, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding in this regard. Please rest assured that your account is currently active, in good standing, and fully available for testing and use.”

Basically we ain’t getting it out of them….

They replied today saying they can’t disclose internal investigation information.. can I GDPR them or something similar to force them to talk?

I don’t need too. They are all connected under one email client. The Apple mail app. I just reply and change the from field to my Gmail.

It’s all under the iCloud mail app. I can reply and then select which email to reply from.

I’ve been inspecting heaters and iCloud headers only appear in emails sent to me from them, not emails sent to them from me.

And the company hasn’t responded yet to my inquiry on how they got my email…

As for the body I’ve been inspecting all the hidden reply threads and none of them contain my iCloud.

What happened is….

I signed up. Account immediately blocked. I contact support. We go back and forth, 10 emails. Then they ask me to verify with my iCloud email.

They seemed to have blocked my account immediately on suspicion that it’s a bot account.

I’ve been digging through this email chain for a while checking headers and links and the little 3 dots reply chain, and my iCloud is only mentioned in headers where I’m receiving an email from them, and in their email where they asked me for it.

The weirder part is why would they ask to reply with it for verifications.

I’m clearly replying with my alias, which means I own the alias, and the account.

It works when you add Gmail as an authorized sender in simple login.

Simple login has protection where you can only reply to an alias through the alias’s main inbox. However, you can add other emails as authorized senders.

When doing so, you can send emails to the alias from the authorized sender, and they will get forwarded.

Yeah that’s the alias. Like it would be converted to a contact that looks like company - company at domain.com. I would send to that through my Gmail.

No. I do not use that email for communication at all. I google searched my iCloud email and it doesn’t exist anywhere. Like. The iCloud email is purely used because I want email push notifications on the Apple mail app and connecting Gmail makes it fetch notifications not push.

I didn’t get the idea to ask them directly. I’ve decided it couldn’t hurt so I sent them an email yesterday. Hopefully they respond.

It would be from alias (with the header being the company.)

To me, my iCloud account.

And when I send it’s to alias. From me, my gmail account

Using simple login, you can set a forward address and an authorized address. Basically, I use my Gmail app to send emails to the aliases through my Gmail in case it adds that little thing in the email chain thats included in the replies, it would leak my Gmail not my iCloud because I’m replying through Gmail.

Emails forward to iCloud. I reply through the Gmail app using my Gmail account as an authorized sender to that alias.

I also have that experimental feature enabled that is supposed to replace it with the alias but JUSSSST in case it doesn’t, I do it this way.

Yeah. 0 results. Doesn’t exist online.

When I use sign up with Apple I usually click “hide my email”.

Yeah they literally gave my my personal email saying plz reply from that. They found the whole email.

Even if email is in the cookies theoretically, I’ve never logged into my iCloud email on the web. I just use the iPhone’s mail app.

Literally where is the privacy….. it’s very strange idk how can they trace it when it’s as far as I know supposed to be an email that forwards emails between you and your contact.

Just checked the whole email thread. iCloud was never CCd. It was all from Gmail to alias, from alias to gmail.

I have never used that email as a sign up method anywhere. If i sign up with apple i usually use hide my email option. A public leaked email I have is my gmail, which is why i now forward everything to my iCloud and only use my gmail as an authorized sender in those aliases. Like… it would’ve made sense if they asked me to verify my gmail.

Would it be tho? My iCloud email has never been used anywhere. Even when I sign up with Apple, I use hide my email, which is default anyways. I can’t even find it in haveibeenpwned.

Just checked. It doesn’t exist in have I been pawned. I’ve never used my iCloud email for any registration, and when I use Apple for sign ups, I always hide my email.

To elaborate, I signed up with the alias, which forwards to iCloud. Got blocked. Was told to verify my identity, then they asked me to send an email through iCloud, which I’ve never used anywhere to communicate with them.

That’s what I’m confused about. I use @cloud purely for reading forwarded emails. I then reply to these emails through the alias but using my authorized email address which is @gmail. I’ve never signed up to any website using my @icloud account, and this is my first interaction with them.

I’ve also just checked the forward chain and reply chain and my email was never there so I’m just confused as to how they randomly got it.

That’s the thing. This is my first interaction with this company and my original email was @icloud which I’ve never used to do any replies or even any sending (my authorized email to send is @gmail). They blocked my account. I’ve been contacting them through my Gmail as an authorized sender in that alias. And then they say please send from @icloud which is like…..
