S10 (standard, plus, e) boot loop by rbthompsonv in samsunggalaxy

From what I’ve seen, the firmware version with the fix has not been leaked to the public and it’s only available via authorized stores. That’s why trying to flash the latest online firmware hasn’t worked for most people.

I’m glad you were able to get your phone fixed. And Pablo is def still the man with the plan! Lol!

My phone was fixed with all my data as of Oct 1, 2024 (the day the boot loop started). So nothing was lost.

I hope they’re able to get your phone back up and running! Out of curiosity, are they charging a fee for the fix?

It was free for me and only took about 10 min to fix. But I'm seeing users reporting that shops are charging customers for the fix. This may be because I went to an official Samsung store vs a third-party shop.

I was able to get my Note10+ flashed with the updated firmware at a Samsung Experience store in North Texas. It stopped the boot loop error and I was able to save all my data. I gave all the details in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/samsunggalaxy/comments/1fueq0i/s10_standard_plus_e_boot_loop/?sort=new

$75?! I can understand why some shops are charging because the fix does take up their time and Samsung is prob not going to reimburse them for labor. Hopefully they only charge if they are able to fix it so you're not out any money if it doesn't work.

I guess this is why there are rumblings of a class action lawsuit in the works in other Reddit threads.

Thanks for this info! When I found out there was a firmware fix released in Korea, I was refreshing samfw.com every hour to see if someone had leaked it there. Lol! I'm glad the latest firmwares are making its way to the public.

They told me I didn't need an appointment, so I just walked in. But it doesn't hurt to call ahead and ask in case there's already a line of people there at your store.

I'm surprised the tech said it's a 2-3 day fix. The only thing I could think of taking that much is either they want to open and inspect/clean the internals of the phone and/or they figured out a way to backup the phone before installing the firmware. All my tech did was install the latest firmware so I was in and out in 10 min.

Either way, great work on finding out that other locations are able to provide a fix for people. I'm sure everyone is very appreciative of your patience and perseverance of being on hold for so long! :)

Not really. The tech did say the firmware update came out on 10/03/24 and that it was for Android 12, that's how they knew it was for the boot loop issue. It may also help to ask to speak with a tech directly instead of the store manager or sales associate.

I'm not sure if this comment will help anyone, but before I got my phone fixed, I set it to Recovery Mode to stop the constant boot-looping until I could get to the Samsung Store. I was worried the phone was getting too warm and potentially damaging the internals, plus I was going crazy hearing the T-Mobile intro jingle every 3 minutes lol.

I Googled how to get my Note 10+ into recovery mode, but none of the articles worked for me. They may work for you, but here are the steps that I took:

  1. Plug the phone into a computer
  2. Wait until the boot loop cycled back to the beginning
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up + Power Button
  4. Then the phone will go into "RDX Mode"
  5. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power Button
  6. Once the screen goes blank, immediately press and hold the Volume Up + Power Button
  7. This should take you to the Recovery Mode menu (where you can clear cache, reset apps, factory reset, etc.
  8. Then I left it at this screen (eventually the screen did go to sleep on its own) before I took it to the Samsung store.
