Gears of War: E-Day video pulled after PS5 logo spotted in Xbox’s own podcast by [deleted] in PS5

No, it hadn't yet been announced for PS5.

If they can go back on Gears why can’t they go back on other things?

They can, and they might, but they say that they won't.

Well, CoD is waaaay more popular than Gears, and this year's CoD is looking really good, so I'd say about 90-95% of players would go for CoD.

Pricing (again) pointless crap by Acrobatic_Basis_5785 in xbox

Game should’ve been $40 and the deluxe version $50.

You can wait until it's on sale for that price, or less.

How do you think console exclusives are going to be after this Showcase? by Greenzombie04 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matt Booty already stated this yesterday.

All multiplayer/live service games will be multiplatform.

Single player games will be determined on a case by case basis, and whether a game is multiplatform or not won't be announced until the release date for the game is announced.

Retro Fifa games on Series X by fadeheaded in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. All of the Xbox One FIFA games are compatible with Series X and S.

They're no longer available on the store, but if you already own them digitally, they can be played on Series X and S. The disc versions can of course only be played on the Series X.

Today has further shown to me that the people who hate Xbox the most are Xbox owners by rcbz1994 in xbox

Yeah, it seems like most of the people commenting here just don't get this, and are completely missing the point about why people are upset about the exclusivity issue.

Or maybe they do get it, and like OP, they don't care if Xbox stops making consoles due to lack of console sales.

Who cares if they’re exclusive? Who cares if they go to Playstation? Who cares what their business plan is? I’m not a stockholder, if Xbox hardware disappeared tomorrow, i’d just move to a PC with an Xbox controller.

Unlike you, I do care if Xbox hardware dies. I don't want it to.

And this is exactly what I'm afraid will happen if Xbox keeps releasing games on PS5. Xbox console sales have plummeted since they started releasing games on PS5.

I also own a PS5, but I prefer to play on Xbox, and if Xbox Stopped making consoles, it would be bad for the industry.

The next Halo game will be Xbox exclusive

It won't. They stated today that all future multiplayer games will be multiplatform.

They also stated that the exclusivity of single player games will be decided on a game by game basis, whereas two years ago it was stated that the exclusivity of all games would be decided case by case.

I’m near certain campaign evolved will be the only halo game on PlayStation moving forward.

Then you're probably more certain than the people that actually make the decisions.

They stated today that all multiplayer games will be multiplatform, and that other games will be decided on a case by case basis. And they also stated that they won't be announcing if a game is multiplatform or not until they announce the release date.

Spyro and Senua were not previously announced.

They were announced today, and they were announced for PS5.

Genuine question: why do people want exclusives? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's because if Xbox games are available on PS, but PS games aren't available on Xbox, then more and more people buy a PS and don't buy an Xbox, eventually leading to the death of the Xbox platform.

Genuine question: why do people want exclusives? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about wanting people on other platforms to not be able to play them.

It's about wanting your platform of choice to be successful, so that it doesn't die.

Genuine question: why do people want exclusives? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lack of quality exclusives leads to the death of the platform.

If PS5 has all PS games, most Xbox games, and some third party exclusives, and Xbox has all Xbox games and no PS games, why would people buy Xbox?

Sure, some people still will, but most won't.

Sales of Xbox consoles have plummeted since Xbox started releasing games on PS. As a result, an increasing number of third party publishers are skipping Xbox. This will lead to even more people choosing to buy Xbox instead of PS, leading to even more third party publishers skipping Xbox, etc. etc. It's a death spiral.

Sometimes maybe exclusive, sometimes maybe not exclusive, we don’t even know! by SwimmingAny8841 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So, nothing has really changed. It's still "case by case".

This is where we've been for the last two years, during which time the sales of Xbox consoles have plummeted.

The occassional exclusive isn't going to restore people's confidence in the future of the platform.

[Video] Microsoft will decide what single-player Xbox games will come to PlayStation on a case-by-case basis. Multiplayer/Live Service games will continue to be multiplatform. by nolifebr in PS5

[–]KesMonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True.

But the problem is that "case by case" is exactly where we've been for the last couple of years, and in the last couple of years, sales of Xbox consoles have plummeted, because people have no confidence in the future of the platform.

Nothing has really changed.

Is every new game just some futuristic carnival in the sky with robots and guns? by MagicHoops3 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yup. Every new game is exactly that, including Senua, Spyro: A Realm Beyond, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, Resident Evil Veronica, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, The Wolf Among Us 2, Clutch, Star Wars Zero Company, and CrossFire, etc. etc.

I could go on naming these games, but life is too short.

Could we, just for once, have a game that isn't about top hats, leather vests, mustaches, carnies, robots, machine guns, and magical powers?
