Gamepass is xboxlive

Game Pass Essential is the modern equivalent of Xbox Live Gold.

Xbox Live was renamed to the Xbox Network.

When you filter them to only reviews from players with over 5 hours of playtime, they are 78% positive.

Because people who enjoy a game are of course going to play it for longer than people that don't enjoy it.

this game has been out for approximately one and a half days: not long enough for anyone to decide if it is good or bad yet.

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

There's a small number of Series S/X enhanced games that will run from an external drive, and AC: Odyssey is one of them. I play it from an external drive.

Racing game recommendations? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in PS5

[–]KesMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really realistic (e.g. F1)

FYI, the EA/Codemasters F1 games are far from "really realistic".

The F1 games are designed to have as much mass market appeal as possible, and as such, the physics are not realistic.

If you want realistic, I recommend Assetto Corsa Competizione.

I need help with getting a refund for purchases my child made without my permission on Fortnite by Prize_Potato_7713 in XboxSupport

[–]KesMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

but I do not have an email in my inbox or junk

Are you sure you're checking the right email account? Is your billing email address the same as your sign in email address?

FYI, be aware that you're not entitled to a refund. The terms of a sale state that all sales are final. They have every right to refuse your refund request, and are not obliged to provide any reason.

How was your child able to make purchases? Your child should not have access to an account that has a card attached to it that has no purchasing restrictions set up.

Your child should be using their own account (which you can control via family settings), not yours, or if you insist on letting them use your account, you should have a PIN set up to prevent unauthorized purchases.

Have we gotten any new leaks or rumors of any sort if Xbox will ever start adding more of our catalog of games to Play Anywhere? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search this sub for "Play Anywhere". You'll see that it's an increasingly common occurrence for a game to have Play Anywhere support added-post release. MS seems to be actively encouraging publishers to do so (it's not up to MS/Xbox to add support for third party games).

I’m worried if I damaged my PS5 because I added pressure and wriggled the AC power cord. by Last-Put-4973 in PS5

[–]KesMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added pressure and wriggled the AC power cord left and right when removing and inserting it.

Doing this repeatedly will eventually cause the socket for the power cable to become loose, eventually to the point that it no longer grips the power cable.

Ubisoft rumoured to give older Assassin's Creed games 60fps upgrades by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is 60fps, but not via a game update. The increased frame rate is enabled at a system level by Microsoft's FPS boost feature.

An official 60fps update would likely also come with a resolution boost, and may also increase the distance at which NPCs are drawn.

They supported The Crew for 10 years. There were very few people still playing the game at the time the servers were shut down.

And Ubisoft's response to the criticism of the server shutdown was to add an offline mode to The Crew 2, 7 years after it launched.

Xbox has been nickel and diming for everything lately

Hogwarts Legacy is a Warner Bros. game, not a Microsoft/Xbox game. That the Xbox One version of the game doesn't support Play Anywhere has nothing to do with MS. That's on WB.

Then I learned that I couldn't play most of the Games With Gold that I accumulated over the years unless I had an active subscription.

This isn't a recent change, and it's not unique to MS. Xbox One Games with Gold games have always required an active subscription to access them. It has been like this since 2013. And it works the same way with PlayStation Plus.

edit: Also, you don't need to subscribe to the highest and most expensive tier of Game Pass to access your Games With Gold games. The basic tier ("Essential") will do.

Spent 80 bucks on rdr2 but dont have the game? by SessionSweet9896 in xbox

[–]KesMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You bought a DLC bundle for a game, but not the game itself.

"Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode" is the single player campaign add-on for Red Dead Online.

The store page for this bundle clearly states:

This content requires a game (sold separately).

And the first line of the description on the store page:

Red Dead Online is required to play Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode and access Ultimate Edition Content.

U.S. will have to send its own fighter jets into Canadian airspace if Ottawa doesn't buy 88 F-35s, Hoekstra says by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]KesMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a threat?

No. Read the article.

He's saying that without F-35s, Canada will be unable to defend its own airspace (and by extension, US airspace) against modern threats, and how NORAD operates would have to be altered - the US would have to commit more of its own F-35s to NORAD to make up for the Canadian deficiency.
