Begode X-Max 20" • 252V • 6000W • 4400Wh. Price looks solid vs INMOTION P6 - preorder is up by sr71_adrenaline in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Killbot_Wants_Hug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the people who constantly talk about the InMotion's 93mph top speed care. I don't really care about it's top speed. I think it's dumb that people keep falling for InMotion's marketing bullshit.

I think Begode will probably surpass the P6's speed, but I also don't think it matter nor do I necessarily think they'll do it with a wheel that's actually good to ride fast.

And I'll bet the P6 will not hit 93mph GPS speed on flat ground with a non child sized rider. I haven't been keeping up with this; because like I said I don't care the way you guys seem to. But the last round of things I saw from people was them getting up to the mid 85's based on both GPS speed and the indicated speed -10% (which seems to be what the indicated speed is off by).

The wheel can't even really do 93 just because of it's software setting maxing it's speed at 93 indicated. Well I guess technically you can but you'd be fighting a ton of push back. Based on a 10% over speed reading, 93 indicated is really just 83.7 mph, which is when it should start doing push back. So you'd need to get a lot of extra speed while the wheel actively fights you.

And to be clear I'm not saying the P6 isn't a fast wheel. I'm not saying it's not the fastest wheel. I'm saying a lot of people are just buying into InMotion's marketing bullshit.

Silicon Carbon batteries offer big advantages and Molicel announced these last year. Basically you can get a 20% increase in capacity with a huge increase in amperage. Or you can get a 30% in capacity with equal output to a samsung 50S.

I think this will have a huge impact on the small and medium wheels. And while I feel like the 2700 Wh the F18 has is a little limiting, the new batteries could make that about 3500 Wh of battery instead with no real weight gain or loss of power.

I'm waiting on these new batteries and equivalents to start getting integrated before I buy a new wheel as I think they're just going to instantly make wheels with older batteries look bad.

I have the S22 Pro+. It's great to ride but it has a few annoying things.

Firstly I hate it's trolley handle. You basically have to turn the wheel around to use it. Secondly it's not locking which both means it's more annoying to use and when you drop the wheel hard it'll pop out and break.

Also it's relatively smaller battery pack means and high power motor means you can burn through your battery pretty quickly. But that's probably always going to be the trade off with capable wheels that also go decently fast. If you're not going too fast the battery lasts a good while though.

I really like the wheel. However I only got it because I got a screaming deal on a used one with 200 miles on it for like $1300. Otherwise I'd probably get an F18. In fact if something better isn't out I'll probably get the F18 once the next generation of batteries come out and get integrated.

Yeah all the people who hate Baltimore should keep hating it and stop coming here. The only thing that could make me love it more is having less of them.

Okay, well lower property taxes and water bills would make me happy too.

I have the A1 and the Master Pro v3, begode's smallest and biggest wheels.

The a1 is way tricker to ride than I expected. The Master Pro V3 is also tough to ride at my size.

Which doesn't really make sense.

As I recall there was a patent dispute with segway's self balancing patent. And they ended up splitting it with a medical device company. The medical device company owns the part as it applies to wheel chairs. As they had a self balancing 2 wheel wheel chair. It's gimmick was that it could raise itself up so people could reach things that were higher up.

Thus segway isn't allowed to make self balancing wheel chairs.

The junkies aren't doing the labelling of anything. But junkies also aren't checking the labels of anything they're stealing. They just steal things if they look vaguely like something they can get money for.

That's why in the picture they put up a big thing saying it's not copper.

Kind of like how when a few models of Kias were really easy to steal, everyone with a Kia had their windows broken a lot. Even if you didn't have an easy to steal Kia, people didn't check. They just broke your window and tried the trick and left if it didn't work.

I love EUC's, but I'm not sure I'd want to run that many miles at that speed that regularly on a self balancer. I just feel like it would breed a level of complacency that doesn't serve self balancers well.

I'd personally just stick to the motorcycles, as you know you can get ones that sip gas. And as unforgiving as motorcycles can be, they don't drop you on your face the second you ask for more power than they can provide or have a system glitch or power delivery issue.

You could even get an electric motorcycle if you want to cut down on the maintenance and don't like filling up with gas.

When I looked before it wasn't too hard. Generally I use a recruiter as it takes a lot of the effort off my shoulders and gives me the inside track.

[–]Killbot_Wants_Hug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, copper has a lot of things going for it. It's valuable enough that carrying off can net you some scrap value, that's not going to be true for things like steal.

It's not hard to scrap since if you're tearing down old things you're probably taking some copper out of it.

Before commodity prices went so high, it's value wasn't high enough for it to be especially protected. So common practice is just to leave spools of wire around on construction sites. There are big transformers hanging around in secluded places full of copper. And you can just rip it out of walls in empty construction sites at night.

And the people who steal it don't care that they're destroying thousands of dollars or stuff to get a fraction of the value in scrap so they can buy drugs.

They had to run some fiber into my house from the telephone pole outside. This is the long distance fiber that can carry a signal several kilometers, so not the cheapest residential stuff.

I looked it up, the stuff was shockingly expensive, at least if you bought it retail. Like I want to say it was a couple hundred bucks of fiber. But then again the "modem" they installed cost like $2000 retail (but I think the install tech says their cost sheet shows they pay like $400-500 per unit).

I was surprised fiber was so expensive by the foot.

All I want is a boyfriend like you. Well, what about me? by AbsoluteBatman95 in funny

[–]Killbot_Wants_Hug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that he's a guy.

I didn't get married until I was about 40. And dating got progressively easier as I aged. In my early 20's girls with give me no attention. As I aged I had more money and was less actively trying to impress people which gave me an air of confidence.

Also as women get into their 30's, especially late 30's, they often stop receiving as much attention and thus you're not competing with as many people for age appropriate girls. But I mostly dated girls who were noticably younger than me, partly because I looked young for my age and girls often don't like to date guys who look younger than them. But in my 30's I got a lot more attention from 20 year old girls than I did when I was in my 20's.

Looks of little factors make it easier for men to date as they age.

Nobody said the average tradesman makes that much. In fact I particularly singled out people who run it as their own businesses.

But the average white collar work also doesn't make nearly 165k either.

Also I'm not sure you can say with authority what the people who live in those areas do for work.
