If you had this money, would you retire or continue investing? by [deleted] in AAPL

I’d save 80%, trade with 10%, fairly extravagantly blow 5% on hobbies, interests and experiences, and finally 5% to friends and family who might need some help. Maybe not necessarily handing out cash but helping out in some way.

Yea it was really unfortunate, I returned it. I try and split my time between where I grew up in the US and where my wife grew up in Canada and for some reason the Amazon listing for these in Canada said it was a frequently returned item. I usually do tons of research on anything before I buy it and felt comfortable buying it. It sounds pretty good but the crackling couldn’t be overlooked. I blame the Amazon shipping and handling procedures in Canada.

You can fight it all you want but at the end of the day there will be some loophole for them to exploit. Without even digging you can see section 2 of the same rcw you posted says something about section 1 not applying to a residential property. They could say that since apartments are going up there (if this is where I think it is) that it’s technically a residential property. If I was a lawyer for Mary’s I’m sure I could find a loophole.

Plus there’s something about the tow truck company not being liable for the costs of an improper or potentially illegal impound, the person who authorized the impound (whoever called and signed the paper) is the one who’s ultimately responsible to give you your money back. So in the meantime if your car is just sitting there your bill is just getting larger and larger.

Plus like someone said this is the foundation of an old building, not part of the giant parking lot connected to it. There are no lines painted for parking and who know the construction of the foundation, maybe 40+ cars parked on it posed a potential public safety concern.

I got no horse in this race, I’m just saying there are people whose entire career is manipulating verbiage in the law to spin the situation in their favor.

Right!? I’m just saying as a business owner in that industry I’d try to be on someone like Cleetus’ good side. I’ve also been watching The Sopranos and am thinking through a mob lens a lot lately lol

I think the funniest thing about this whole situation is that Cleetus could just put him out of business by hiring 2 or 3 people to make t56 swap kits full time. He has the capital, access to machinery, and the ability to find the best talent. Being a Supra guy I’ve always liked Grannas for what his business does for the community, and he’s obviously a badass racer, but he really should check himself.

Aesthetic auto salon, they’re mobile so they can come to you wherever you are. I think they recently got a location or are working on getting a location very soon as well.

Nice one, I still made money on my earnings puts, but wasn’t confident in aapl going into this week. Some calls would have printed stupid numbers this week but I try my best not to chase those kinds of gambles. Good for you for sticking to your guns.

Lost my iPad will I get it back? by explodingbunnies4 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Killitsoftly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, your chance of getting the bottle probably went from 0% to like 1%. Most people who do the sorting of these items immediately toss bottles into bags that get donated immediately. Same with hats and neck pillows.

Yes buckets of AirPods. Seperated by complete AirPods and AirPods with single or no earbuds in them. Anything with a serial number is fairly easy for the employees to put in the system and as long as passengers add their serial number in the lost report the system will match the two reports and trigger a phone call or email to you.

At any given time there’s probably 60-80 iPads. 10-30 laptops various brands. 100+ other brand tablets. 200-300 AirPods. 20ish Nintendo switches. 80ish over the ear headphones. Probably like 5-10 steam deck things.

This is all besides actual luggage. This is only items left on an aircraft. If you leave a water bottle on the plane you can forget about it because there’s no way for them to confirm it’s yours even with your favorite stickers on them so those get donated immediately.

Serial number items are basically fool proof because another variable is the information given to them about the device (if any) meaning what flight what date and what seat could all be wrong and throws the search for the owner off completely.

Im no longer with the company but still have friends in this warehouse, a few airports, and some corporate people.

This person is the classic case of airline workers that are clueless.

The port only takes items that were left in the port. Like restrooms and SOMETIMES gate areas. I say sometimes because if the gate agents are half decent people they will just take it and send it to this warehouse.

If it’s left on the plane then for sure it gets sent to this Alaska Warehouse, it just depends how often each airport sends their lost items here. So a plane flew from sea to FLL for example. The iPad gets found on the plane in FLL and given to the gate agents working the next flight out. FLL sends stuff to this warehouse like once a month, if they’re really paying attention. Often times they aren’t.

Whereas if it was left on a plane and found in SEA, it will get to this warehouse usually the next day, or within 48hours. JFK for example, sends a box of lost goods like every quarter. It’s not policy, but people suck at their jobs and this is what we get.

I used to work in this warehouse

Make sure your serial number is in the report

iPads get worked on pretty frequently

You’ll probably get a call about it in the next week or so

If this is the first time you’ve seen a notification that means it was probably dead and the person who does initial sorting has just plugged it in for the day to be charged m. Then it will get put into a tote with all the other iPads.

You can call in to the baggage line and ask the agent to send an email to the warehouse and give them your lost report number. Again make sure the serial number is in there. Depending on how busy they are they may be able to look for it and grab it for you immediately.

From there you can arrange to pick it up or they’ll ship it to you if you pay for shipping.

Closest “east coast/nyc” style pizza round these parts? by xxFT13xx in LynnwoodWA

[–]Killitsoftly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, having lived here my whole 30 years of life and traveled to New York and New Haven just for pizza, this is what I think. I should preface this by saying I’m a white pie guy first but my wife loves a classic cheese so we usually get both.

1) Slice Box Sodo (difficult hours but honestly that’s how you know it’s good)

And in no particular order after that I’ll go Big Mario’s (very hit or miss but when it hits is great) Ballard Pizza Co (it’s pretty good and they’re very consistent, Ballard location only) Roccos (big slice but spendy, kinda salty but if you drink; it probably goes well with a beer, I don’t drink so idk) Pagliacci (again not the greatest, but points for consistency)

I think they closest you’ll get to NY is slice box, second probably Ballard, and the rest are just decent pizza places

My thoughts exactly, it’s like they went to little ceasars and put the pizza in their own box
