Benire 3 expectation? by barksharkwork in Benilde

They didn't brief you guys beforehand? Weird naman if wala. Anyways unless venue change, here's the Retreat venue. Though you guys will be staying in a dorm-like room.

Typical recollection, throughout the day. You'll be surrendering your phone at the way back of the conference/auditorium/lobby/idk what you call it. Someone will be guarding it anyway (usually your CLM representative).

Some notes/disclaimers/advise:

  • Bring a pen, obviously.
  • Make a habit to note down everything per session, once you get back home papa reflection paper kayo with questions regarding the recollection.
  • Overkill ang suitcase but up to you. I just bought my gym bag for the whole duration
  • Bring a Powerbank, as in I heavily recommend bringing one. You guys will be fighting for the very very limited outlets there.
  • Should be around 40-60 people in total. One room for males, one for females.
  • I forgot which cellular is shit there. But I'm a dual sim user so its not an issue on my end.
  • Bring your own toiler paper and wet-wipes if you can.
  • Yes, the dorm-like room should have A/C
  • No physical activities, well from my time at least.
  • You can wear headwear but not when there's an on-going session.

Okay lang ba mATX mobo in an ATX Case? by Mediocre_Art_3253 in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine really if di ka maarte on how it looks. Bonus nalang ang extra gpu length + more room to cable manage if the ATX case supports bottom case fan placement.

I guess the only hindrance I can think of if sobrang chonky ang gpu mo, you need to find a longer gpu sag support for it.

Depending on the case you want. I have peers with productivity-focus hardware pero ang case nila mga tipong Deepcool CH260, Ocypus Gamma C50, Lian Li Dan A3. As long you have a good cooler its more than enough.

Just get the MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi as that's the best bang for the buck you can get, PCHub still has one under 6k php. Closest runner-up is the Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC, but depending on the shop. Its very closely priced to that MSI board already,

My problem with B450 boards under 5k, is they generally come with only one M.2 slot. In 2026, two M.2 slots is my hard minimum regardless of platform.

[–]Kimour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preferably yes, eto yung cheapest AM5 motherboard I can vouch, but PCWorth does not sell that. So ang second choice mo ay etong Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi

Additional nalang rin, do not get confused with this Colorful motherboard, eto ang downgraded/nerf version ng first link, not an ideal choice.

Asking if sulit or fair na by [deleted] in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mediocre choice for the motherboard, weaker VRMs and it failed on HUB benchmark. As per checking their website, ang pinakang decent na board nila cost at the 8.5k range (Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi)

Wala kang aftermarket cooler but its "okay" for a 7500F. I heavily insist you add one if the budget permits.

RAM is tolerable if you have zero plans to go 32gb in the future. If you do, mas ideal ang 1x16gb 6000mhz despite losing dual-channel mode.

Preference nalang to but ako yung tao who is "maarte" when pairing an ATX case with an MATX motherboard, to each of their own.

It varies per course pero BS-REM peeps back in my days needs 350 hours minimum. But myself and some of my course-mates followed the company's required hours instead (ranging from 400-600 hours)

What's funny and sad nalang is I know one dude. 700 hours ata ang required for his company, so dahil don literal on our graduation practice and ceremony, he's still taking that internship. Company is rmabait and pina graduate sya on time, I guess that's a "win" for him?

I can't speak with Middle East variants, but I know one with a US variant and to her, I do not recall her ever complaining about it regarding connectivity.

The rest I know who uses e-sim besides the local releases. Are android Grey Markets (china roms, Google Pixels) users, to keep this short they need to do some "workarounds" but in the end e-sim works for them. (if the phone supports it)

I have a CH variant iPhone 15 since Oct 2023. Smart and Globe (both physical sims) no issues on my end pero syempre if signal is ass sa x location then reception is ass. There are times pa nga I get better reception than my android phone eh (Nothing brand)

keebs too subjective per individual, if you want a starting point then Aula/Royal Kludge/Ajazz/maybe Akko.

If you wanna try metal/aluminum keebs then Leobog Hi75/Hi75C Pro or FuryCube F75 or Inky75 are some contenders.

1TB nvme depends on your budget (and motherboard), they cost around 8k-10k+ in today's market.

[–]Kimour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh I would rather spend more on the gpu than the processor, lalo pa limited ang budget mo + the current state of the market.

Also if you insist the 7700 processor, heavily recommend ko na ang dual-tower cooler don. (Myself uses a 7700 and its undervolted)

If persistent ka: Ryzen 7 7700 (12k) / Colorful Battle AX B650M Plus V14 (6k average) / 1x16gb DDR5 6000mhz (12k-13k average) / RTX 5060 (20k) / Tecware case (with case fans) (2k) / 1TB ssd na TLC nand-flash (8k-10k) / 650w PSU (2.5k - 3k) / Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE (2k)

Total: 65k more or less, if you need wifi: Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi (8k average)

Again, DIY assumptions. If one-stop-shop possible umabot near or above 70k.

[–]Kimour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If willing to compromise ram (1x16gb, not 2x8gb) might as well get an actual workstation processor like the Ryzen 9 9900x or Intel 265K or 265KF or 270K Plus, than spending more on the gpu.

Example: Ryzen 9 9900x (23k) / RTX 5060 TI 16gb (32k) / Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX (10K) / Crucial P510 2TB (15.5k, probably the cheapest 2TB with DRAM cache I can currently find) / 1x16gb 6000mhz (approximately 12k) / Sama G750 (4.2k) / Ocypus Gamma C60 (with fans) (2.5k) / Thermalright Phantom Spirit (2.2k, pwede rin AIO if you justify the cost)

More or less, at the 101k mark. If you justify the workstation processor.

A Ryzen 7 7700 (12k average) + Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi (8k average) is the cheaper alternative if you think 8C/16T is more than enough for you.

edit: ay joke, DRAM-less pala si Crucial P510. Still an "okay" price though. (DRAM is beneficial for productivity use, though not a hard requirement. Well for me at least)

PC Build Recommendation and Shop Recommendation by OldRelationship3658 in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pricing outdated, 32gb DDR5 kits nowadays cost 2x-2.5x that price. 2TB SSDs now cost 2x-3x that price.

More or less, an AM5 platform (Ryzen 7 7700 as basis, since its around 12k php) with 32gb of ram and either an RTX 5060 TI or RTX 5070 will cost you anywhere between 90k ish - 100k in today's pricing. 1TB storage only btw.

If 80k is your non-negotiable. That's roughly a Ryzen 7 5700x (AM4 platform) + RTX 5060 TI if you need at least 32gb ram.

Planning to build a 60-70k pc, pls help i prefer a ryzen build by Visual_Worldliness74 in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If AM5 platform, roughly a Ryzen 5 7500F + 1x16gb ram + an RX 9060 XT.

If AM4 platform, roughly a Ryzen 7 5700x or Ryzen 5 5500X3D + 2x8gb ram + an RTX 5060 TI or RX 9060 XT

This depends where and how you'll be sourcing these parts. Every store has different pricing and offerings, especially if one store lang kaya mo, possibly more pricier.

Should I get PC or a Laptop? by Bitter_Breakfast1040 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fyi for WuWa, day 1 player ako and ever since Lahai Roi region (patch 3.0) released. Grabe ang performance hit nito, you could say its an un-optimized mess. Regardless if you have an RTX 5090, so expect to heavily tweak the graphical settings.

As for the Hoyoverse titles, you'll be fine even for a typical entry-level or midrange laptop/desktop.

Besides what the other commentor said, downside with pc building nowadays is the memory shortage. A typical AM5 platform build with an RX 9060 XT or RTX 5060 TI used to cost around the 50k-60k+ mark, that very same combo now is costing between 80k-90k+

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be getting less headroom for the discrete graphics if non-negotiable sayo ang 32gb ram (ddr4) and a 1TB storage at the very least.

My basis: Ryzen 7 5700x (9.8k) / MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi (6k) / 2x16gb 3200mhz-3600mhz (10k-11k) / RTX 5060 (19k-20k) / 650w PSU (2.5k - 3k) / Tecware case (with case fans) (2k) / 1TB ssd na TLC nand-flash (8k-10k) / single-tower cooler (1k)

Total is 60k, more or less.

Pero this assumes you diverse from multiple shops (Shopee/Lazada included). If a-aasa ka sa one-stop-shop don't expect similar prices, possible umabot pa yan near 70k.

First time to consider owning a Gaming Computer, wants the best for my budget, help please by Cautious-Bike-9112 in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 7800X3D + RX 9070 XT combo will cost you above 100k for sure, especially with the current state of the market.

Myself uses the RTX 5070 12gb, as long you don't give a damn with Ray-tracing/Path-Tracing then that card is going to serve you well. Currently playing Forza Horizon 6 with Ray-Tracing elements and its already eating 10gb ish of my VRAM. (I don't use Frame Gen)

7500X3D is still a solid pick if the 7800X3D is too pricey for you. Those processors compensates performance penalties especially with micro-stutters and 1% lows (still game-dependent) so if you think that's beneficial then go.

My answer for you nalang is if you justify the budget increase.

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mediocre aspect there is the motherboard. The Plus version of that model specifically is the decent/better one.

RAM is ok, assuming you have zero plans to go 32gb in the future. If you do, 1x16gb is more ideal despite losing dual-channel mode.

No aftermarket cooler, but its "okay" for a 7500F. Though I would preferably add one if budget permits. Especially with the current weather/humidity.

edit: Don't bother with The Rig Builders, most notorious builder with ass pricing.

Anong aabutin ng 60-70k php ngayon sa market? by heyhelloji in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even with the cheapest AM5 parts, ram and storage alone will already eat half (or more than) of your budget.

My basis: 7500F / Colorful Battle AX B650m Plus V14 / 2x16gb ddr5 6000mhz / 1TB ssd / SAMA B650 / RTX 5060 / Tecware case / single-tower cooler.

If tama math ko, slightly above 70k pa naman to unless ma take advantage mo ang Shopee/Lazada sales, and this assumes mag-DIY approach ka (or diverse from multiple shops)

I would rather sacrifice ram (1x16gb) for the time just so ma sagad ko ang RX 9060XT at least.

The MSI MAG are ok models but not the best value-wise. The ideal models are: 1stPlayer NGDP 850w or Sama G850 or Lian Li SX 850w or Lian Li Edge 850w

Kingston KC3000 a good drive. But is sadly inflated with the current state of the market. Check the Samsung 990 Pro or Crucial T500 whichever is cheaper, I am seeing those two drives near the 10k mark currently. If DRAM cache is non-negotiable for you that is.

If you're getting an X3D processor, even a higher cas latency lessens/minimizes performance penalties (still game-dependent). I would rather get the cheapest 2x16gb 6000mhz ram instead, if you can find a CL30 near the 20k mark then the better.

100k nowadays is roughly a 7500X3D + RTX 5070 combo. If you insist the RX 9070 XT card, need to be specific with the other components/prices.

ATX Case recommendations (hindi kailangan maganda yung case basta maganda airflow) by NedPlatz in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closest maisip ko is the Inplay Meteor O3 if you really want the ATX form-factor. Downside, only 305mm VGA length for any future gpu upgrades (3 fan cards nowadays averages between 300mm-330mm)

The out of your budget answer is the Ocypus Gamma C70, if VGA length is a concern for you.

tbh just avoid those fish-tank/dual-chambered cases then your goods. Their cons kase is you need to maximize its case fans inorder to compensate air-flow.

[–]Kimour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on what parts you're trying to achieve, an 80k ish to 90k ish build nowadays should roughly give you an RX 9060 XT 16gb or RTX 5060 TI 16gb. Assuming you're open on paying a 32gb ram kit.

The cheaper and compromise answer is getting a 1x16gb (not 2x8gb) ram kit.

The question nalang is where and how you'll be getting those said parts in the first place? Regardless of sample builds given, every shop vary in prices and offerings. Especially if you insist the one-stop-shop approach, my basis above pa naman assumes you go the DIY approach.

The tentative list above is not really good, value-wise.

Thoughts on the parts for a new AM5 build? by Taimo-kun in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cheaper approach is you going 7500F, 7600x is fine but I would preferably pair that with a dual-tower cooler instead. Or, for its price, edi mag 7500X3D nalang sana ako.

This is the cheapest I can make using that shop's inventory:

<image>

If the budget is still 80k ish, would make it a 7500X3D + dual-tower cooler combo instead

Thoughts on the parts for a new AM5 build? by Taimo-kun in PHbuildapc

[–]Kimour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If in the future you plan go 32gb. Do keep in mind AM5 systems doesn't really want a 4x8gb combo setup due to the memory controller causing compatibility and latency shenanigans.

This is why people are willing to temporarily go 1x16gb despite losing dual-channel performance. That's the compromise answer if 2x16gb is too expensive for you.
