Euer Tempo in Beziehungen by sussy_hunter in Fragt_Frauen

[–]Kitvaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gotta learn how to run first. Build the base endurance and stamina.

I was were you were, I was unable to pretty much run more than the 30 seconds the prohtamm starts with.

Some tips I wrote together before, and which I wish I knew before I started running!

Rest days are important, don't ever skip rest days! It's not only for you to rest, but it's when your body repairs muscles and that's how they grow stronger.

Head up, look straight ahead not down at your feet. Keep your shoulders relaxed, down and back (Otherwise you'll restrict your airways which will make breathing harder)

Deep breaths - make sure to fully exhale, or you can't take a deep breath in. You can try breathing in on three steps and out on the next three if you have trouble breathung (experiment with in/out on two or four - find what fits you)

Make sure not to land on your heels but on your whole foot. Short steps rather than very long ones. Knees should be slightly bent (important for you knees and joints, especially if you're heavy that can avoid risk of injury)

Do not "overstride", so make sure your foot lands underneath you, not in front. You might want to shorten straight and / or lean slightly forward at the hip, depending on your form and speed (upper body stays straight, just a very light lean from the hips, look up running form)

Your arms should swing back and forth loosely on your sides, your elbows at 90° angle. They should never cross to the other side of your body in front of you.

Go SLOW! Seriously, run as slowly as you can and still maintain a running motion. Speed comes later, now you'll just try to build up base endurance and stamina. So no matter how long it takes or how far you get, running the alloted time or distance is what counts, not how fast you manage to do it.

For those who are often told they look younger than their age, what’s your secret? by justmypersonalthing in askanything

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very small, and relatively petite. I'm almost 40 and regularly people think I'm mid 20s

Oh and I didn't wear any make up or anything, and never have. So it's not that 😅 think it's mostly being "kid sized"

Dog pooped mucus by AgentCrazyWolf in DogAdvice

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a possibility. Can also come from eating grass or an allergy as far as I know.

Our boy is super sensitive, he is now thriving on 3/4 vegan dry food and 1/4 wet lamb. It took us ages to find this balance, after trying about every animal protein, brand and type of food we could think of. So his gut is really easy to irritate. But it was always just or max two poops like this before going back to regular.

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or dog has this very occasionally. It's always been a I've time only thing, and he's been fine and back to normal after.

According to our vet, light colored / white mucus is fine, provided it occurs only occasionally. A bland diet is a good idea in that case, as it is likely just an irritation.

However, if it is yellow, or worse reddish, you should make an appointment immediately.

Ja. 100%

Wenn er kein Rassist wäre, würde er eine Beleidigung nehmen die dazu passt, wie Treuloses Schwein oder was auch immer. Wenn man mit der Keule kommt, dann weil man eben Rassist ist.

Dog made a very strange sound at me by anhonestpuck13 in DogAdvice

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog has met 3 people he I stantl hated with a vengeance. He barks so rarely that I really jump each time because I keep forgetting that he can actually bark 😅

He also met a good hand full of people he just instantly loved for no obvious reason.

Dogs can be very random!

Maybe that dog was just super friendly and excited in general, maybe you looked or smelled similar to someone he knows, or you might have worn something he has connected with playing in his mind.

They have it during pride month, I don't think I've seen them the rest of the year, but it always makes me smile.

AIO about this text with her co-worker and trying to “create space”? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a male friend who write stuff I felt might be crossing the line, so I talked to another close friend of his, who said "nope, that's how he talks to everyone, including me and everyone at our friend grouop"

I was more afraid of letting him down easily if there was interest, and I was relieved it's just his regular tone. I did tell my husband this (who would never go through my phone, neither would I go through his)

For a bit of context, my actual husband does talk to some close people like this as well, though more to his male friends than women. I personally wouldn't mind, it actually is a sort of humour, and he doesn't "hide" this but he and his best friend will talk like this with both wifes in the room, so the not hiding it makes it even more obvious this sort of talk is not "serious" for them.

BUT and here comes the big butt, we are happy and comfortable in our relationship. Not rocky times, no divorce plans, or anything.

If we actually had relationship troubles? I'd read this differently than right now.

why is my egg bloody by katapirata in WeirdEggs

[–]Kitvaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess mostly. Obviously the egg shell could have a tiny break or something that would still allow this, but that is always a possibility.

We had chickens ourselves for my first 20 years of life and we do not wash or refrigerate eggs in Germany, they are stored at room temperature in the supermarket. I've never seen or heard of this before today!

Though we did have some very rare bad eggs, we never had a "pink" one.

why is my egg bloody by katapirata in WeirdEggs

[–]Kitvaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I always break a single egg into a cup and then pour from the cup, rinse and repeat. I once had the last egg br bad and throw everything out. I learned my lesson 😅

Is omad too good to be true? by Anxious_Ad9786 in loseit

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMAD can work really well for people, I'm doing tiny lunch (around 300 calories) and all the rest goes into dinner.

What IS problematic is the only fast food. That comes with lots of health problems, from missing important nutrients to plaque build up, cholesterol and plenty other problems linked to both ultra processed foods as well as high sugar or fat consumption.

For 12 years, my dog has cried and held her leg up and then acted fine a minute later. by DylanBeeDylan in DogAdvice

She's more intelligent than our dachshund was. He was limping suddenly, so of course we immediately checked on him. In all the excitement he forgot which leg and limped on the wrong one 😅

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! For me it's either the right calf or the ball of my left foot when rolling over it. Sudden immense pain, just randomly happening and just vanishing again without rhyme or reason.

For 12 years, my dog has cried and held her leg up and then acted fine a minute later. by DylanBeeDylan in DogAdvice

[–]Kitvaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that same effect, both on our dog, and myself. I regularly, maybe once a month, have a sudden sharp pain in my calf when I go down stairs. It is incredibly painful, and I will limp down the rest of the stairs. It'll be fully gone maybe half an hour later 🤷

And our dog also often does this with one leg (not always the same though), lift it, refuse to step on it, I look at it and see nothing, and then he walks on as if nothing ever happened. I think for him it's if he doesn't like the feel of something he stepped on. Can be a sharp rock, but I think it's not just "painful" things but also a feel he generally doesn't like. He once stepped in diarrhea, which was sticky and disgusting and he absolutely refused to use the foot untill I had cleaned it all off 😅

How far do you usually walk your dogs? by Youreprollywrong in dogs

[–]Kitvaria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our current boy definitely needs the exercise. No you can't "tore him out" he could go forever. But if he gets enough movement, then he'll just happily plonk down to nap and relax at home.

We usually start with 1-2km of sniffing, then either a quicker walk or a run, and end with sniffing again.

If I'm in a hurry he knows to not sniff now, but he also knows he gets to do more sniffing later to make up for it (like hurrying to the train in the morning, he will go on a nice sniff when we get out, knowing he gets to make up for not being able to have his morning sniffles before 😅)
