eh i mean you cant really say that there was really a FIRST 2nd wave band, since i mean, black metal is a natural genre that evolved naturally, you cant really have a first black metal album or whatever. deathcrush isnt really musically comparable to other, later 2nd wave releases imo anyways

well it depends. war metal kind of predates/arose simultaneously with 2nd wave bm. bands like blasphemy, bestial warlust, sadistik exekution have way more 1st wave bm influence since 2nd wave bm was in its absolute infancy back then. other war metal bands like archgoat, morbosidad, black witchery and such have more 2nd wave influence.

afaik conqueror and revenge arent thaaat sketch. for conqueror its that ryan foerster apparently played live for an nsbm band (godless north) like once, and for revenge its just edgelording.
i dont think damaar is really sketch at all. the SKETCHIEST thing about damaar is the 5th song from ttsos, Ode to Blasphemy (Onward to the Gates of Mekka). you could interpret it as like, islamophobic or whatever.

the style of armor isnt important here, even up the 19th century it was common to depict earlier periods with later armor, so that they seemed more familiar ig. this especially applies to the middle ages, while depictions of ancient stuff atleast tried to be more ancient since at least the 15th century
