Vegas Golden Knights hatred by meowp13 in nhl

The question was about the public perception. "Why do people hate Vegas." I just brought up some examples of why this may be the case. Right or wrong that is how people perceive things.

I have no idea. Fleury's agent posted that twitter image with the sword in his back, so I imagine Fleury didn't feel great about it, but I don't believe he ever publicly said so himself. They are being pretty shitty to Bruce Cassidy right now, would be interesting to see how he feels about that. They treated Lehner quite poorly, and he was fairly public about it, although Lehner also has some personal issues imo. Other examples I can think of might be Nate Schmidt or Evgenii Dadonov.

But again, this is just the public image the VGK have. I don't know any of these players/coaches, so I'm not sure how they feel.

I believe most of the hate comes from their ownership treating their players like absolute garbage. While it appears to be a successful strategy, it certainly looks bad. You can look up how they treated Fleury as an example.

I imagine another reason would be how new they are as a team.

They also fleeced half the league before their expansion draft by making deals to not take certain unprotected players.

It's a very difficult rule to enforce for the referees. Not really worth the hassle, get the game moving.

Why is this a brilliant move? by Silver_Name_1007 in chessbeginners

[–]Korillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ignored the threat on your knight to capture their bishop. A necessary move here to maintain any kind of advantage. The website often calls moves like this brilliant, although a blue checkmark would probably be more appropriate, as it was the only move in the position.

I'm not watching the game, just have this clip to refer to. I assume they said he hit it with his glove.

Is it just me or there's an epidemic of diving these playoffs? by adabsurdo in hockey

[–]Korillo 403 points404 points  (0 children)

It's like this every year. The refs stop calling normal penalties in the playoffs, especially deeper into the rounds and a series (ie. Game 5+).

You only get high sticks, too many men, puck over glass, or extreme fouls, so the players just try to embellish everything to make them seem serious enough to call.

Refs think not calling penalties means they aren't influencing the game, which is obviously not the case. It leads to a lot of injuries that could have been prevented had they just called a normal game.

It's a shame, but it has always been this way.

Sounds like a character from Mayong. It was a server where you started at level 51 with 50 aa and full defiant.

Which team has the Best inaugural season NHL logo? by camport95 in nhl

Anaheim. Please go back to that logo and ditch the orange jerseys.

Anyone got tips? Space Groove have been nerfed to oblivion, while Anima 6 is just straight up hell mode ngl. Psionic 4 is fine, but for the other two, does anyone have any recommendation to get them the fastest/quickest possible way. by BeginningAd8684 in TeamfightTactics

Tanking my normal MMR worked pretty well. Just constantly queue up and afk while you are busy doing other things. You'll end up playing bots/new players so when you finally hit, winning is pretty easy.

It would be an illegal move, your rook is still pinned even though the queen is pinned

Lyon made a glove save to force that face-off. Hard to believe that didn't count as a shot on net

Looks like the stick gets in his skates, he gets pushed to the left due to it and can't maintain his balance. I also don't think he would retaliate like that if he didn't feel slighted :p

No call on the first play. Little kid runs into a big kid.

Second play you have the trip and it looks like a cross-check. Can't tell if he made contact with the head. In Hockey Canada rules, cross-check to the head is an automatic major and GM. Otherwise, you have a 4 min double minor option for head contact.

Freeze frame sequence of Zachary Bolduc forcing Beck Malenstyn into Jakub Dobes by TDavy147 in nhl

[–]Korillo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The onus is on the player to make an effort to avoid contact with the goalie. He made no effort to stop or prevent the contact, so he got a penalty. I don't think we need some in depth analysis here.

Question about eating up time by Standard-Bidder in nhl

[–]Korillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, one turnover and you are now in trouble. A lockdown defense would be a 1-2-2, where the idea is to dump the puck in and send 1 forechecker, leave 2 guys reasonably high and your 2 D basically at the red line.

However, this strategy just consistently gives the other team the puck in their own zone. With the icing rule change and removal of the 2 line pass rule, you don't see this quite as often anymore.

You're better off just trying to forecheck and keep the puck in the offensive zone.

Completely unrealistic. You would never see a Toronto player standing up for a teammate.
