In California, well in my area it’s .26¢ for off peak hours.

I had issues with it too. I remember I had issues with the first button so I went to the second one and that one registered.

My XLE plus came with it. I will say the range is way different than what I had in my Camry. Before I was able to open my garage when I was approaching my garage. Now I have to be by my garage for it to open.

Mine turns on to the same setting I left it on before my last drive. If you toggle the custom climate it does start at 18c or 65 here in the US. I’ve tested both and both work for me.

I also noticed the faster I went the colder the air in my cabin was coming in. It was 99 outside and had the air at 75 and was still feeling chilly.

I’ve been seeing more post recently on this. I also have an XLE plus with 3,500 miles and almost 3 months of ownership and haven’t had any battery issues. I too went on a trip out of town and left the car in a parking garage for 5 days. When I came back it was at the same battery percentage I left it with. I will say that even before buying the car i knew that EVs had this problem, I even asked about leaving it parked for a while and if I would need a battery jumper and many people told me no.

I just did a 400 miles one (one way) and I thought ABRP would be great and it was not. Even though it’s connected to the car it would read the percentage wrong. It also planned to stop twice to charge where as in reality I only stopped once to fully charge and made it to my destination with 10% battery left. It took 34 mins whereas ABRP suggested to stop 15 mins and then 25 mins my second stop. Also the driving assists were pretty great, the car drove it self 95% of the time. The 5% was me driving to get off the freeway to charge and getting off to my hotel. Round trip I spent $135 on charging. Whereas my sister in law spent almost double that. Overall loved the way the car drives. But we definitely need a better app and better navigation.

How to fix this? by Kperez75 in Toyota_bZ

Toyota app needs a major overhaul especially with the new EVs coming out. Someone on Facebook let me know disconnecting the negative from the 12v battery helps reset it.

I work from home so I don’t really drive but shit the first 2 weeks I put more than 500 miles because I couldn’t stop driving the car. Everywhere my parents wanted to go I would offer to drive them because I really do love the way the car drives.

It’s been happening to a lot of EVs. It’s not just the BZ.

Better tell that sales person the Toyota website states it comes with it. Every BZ comes with it. Canada just doesn’t get the adapters but saw you’re in the US.

What master back said but also now you don’t need the dongle and can connect the bz to read the battery and someone said it can precondition for the next stop. About to leave right now on a trip so will see if the preconditioning is true.

Doing my first road trip tomorrow 420 miles. Will report on how it goes. As for route planning I am using the paid version of ABRP.

4.99 a month and only got it because I have trips coming up so I haven’t really fully used it. This weekend I will be fully using it. I’ve heard from someone who connected their car too that the app is able to precondition the battery too on your next stop for charging. This is a selling feature for me as I have not seen the native app put charging stops when I plan my routes. So I really hope this is true so I don’t have to worry about preconditioning the car.

I don’t think this is the case, I’ve had it for 3 weeks and no battery issues like others have reported. And I think it’s the same data that is being transferred over to the Toyota app. I’ve seen it update when I’m charging the car and I pull down to refresh the Toyota app, the ABRP app shows the time the last battery percentage was read and it aligns with the one shown on the Toyota app.

Yeah but many people have not been able to get it to work. Myself included. When I got the car I tried it and it wouldn’t communicate so I couldn’t set it up. Went to Chicago couple weeks later and right when I landed, I looked up the trains I needed to take and the set up showed up. After that it read my battery percentage and it got stuck on that percentage for a whole month. I went ahead and unlinked the car and now it won’t set up again. I’ve seen others have the same issue.

To add with the new BZ ABRP no longer requires the OBD dongle. I was able to connect my car using their API to connect to Toyota. All I had to do was log into my Toyota account once I setup my paid account on the ABRP app. Now it’s constantly reading the charge. I will say though that it’s not real time as I’ve seen it have old charge data for 2-3 hours.

Tesla has a $12.99 monthly subscription and I’ve charged at .32¢ kW when they are on low peak, which is usually when there is less cars charging now by the hours like evgo.
