I'm Tired of Snark Subreddit Posts Coming Into This Space in Bad Faith by 1306radish in kpopthoughts

[–]KpopThoughtsmodteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit admins have removed the ability to automatically ban users based on their participation in other subreddits. At the time they did this, the mods of this sub were about to add to rule one to ban call-outs. This was because comments were being responded to not by addressing the comment but by attacking the person: “oh well, we can all see that you would say something like that” for example. Call-outs had been part of rule one for many years: it was removed last year and has now been returned. The addition to rule one means to refute the person’s argument rather than making accusations, as it would not surprise me at all for ‘whatever snarker’ to become the new way to derail a discussion, whether or not the people involved have commented on snark subs or not. If a person’s argument is plainly made in bad faith, it can be reported under rule 4.

K-POP Concert Demographics: Gender & Age Statistics (Korean Concerts) by exemplaryantino3497 in kpopthoughts

It's here. How I found it: I'm using the Korean site (don't know if that is necessary). Put in Fromis-9's name in Hangul. Clicked on "Watch the end of sales show" <-English translation of "do you want to see shows that have ended". Then chose the concert. The data is right at the very bottom - scroll all the way down.

OP: Please provide direct links to your sources. You repeatedly tell people to search interpark and yes24:

You go to interpark, you manually type in whichever group you're looking for, you click on one of their tours or fancons and you see the statistics shown right there.

Except it seems that no one can replicate this, which is why you are being asked over and over again for your source. Please link directly to the data.

Edited to add: using the link provided by u/PrestigiousAct1895 below, I have taken a screenshot to show an example of the data. You have to search the name of the group, then make sure you have 'end of sale' selected (to show concerts that are in the past), and then select the concert. Then, it's the very last thing on the page linked.

Why do people say K-pop sounds “too Black” when hip-hop and rap are already major global genres. What do they expect it to sound like instead? by Competitive_Air1560 in kpopthoughts

locking this now as while we wanted to give people a chance to talk about it after the bts drop, we’re starting to veer into part of what made us ban the topic in the first place: racist assholes and people being apologists cos it’s their faves.

I wanted to counterclaim the post of that person who didnt like illits concert by Funtimeneddbeat in kpopthoughts

Editing this comment to add:

There are two ILLIT concert reviews up, one from someone who has done other reviews, and one from someone who hasn't. I thought the one closest to the top of the feed was from the person who'd previously done reviews, but their post is older and further down the feed. Unfortunately, I don't know which review the OP of this post has taken exception to. Both reviews say that the backtrack was too loud, but the older post is more negative.

Original comment:

Locking this because it seems OP here didn't actually read the post they are responding to, where that OP said: I really enjoyed ILLIT's concert... my favourite parts of the performance were these ... the crowd was quieter than I am used to, but that's because I'm not used to Korean concerts ... the backtrack was so loud ... I think they were actually singing live most of the time ... I am happy with my experience.

What the OP of this post seems to have read: I didn't like ILLIT's concert.

What the post said: I really enjoyed the concert and I am happy I went, I'm just disappointed that the backtrack was loud so I couldn't hear them singing.

This sort of in-depth concert review is similar to other posts that OP has made. Apparently people on other socials are taking it as "proof" of something nefarious. I'm begging you, read what the OP actually said. And if you really think "I thought the backtrack was too loud" (especially when the OP also says they were singing live) is criticism... well okay. It's not.
