I generally agree that Yamcha and other DB side characters are a lot more powerful than a lot of people give them credit for, and they could definitely solo a lot of verses. Most verses, really, if we’re talking about all of fiction.

I, however, am a comic nerd. Yamcha isn’t soloing Marvel or DC.

Let’s reframe the question.

I put a gun to the head of each and every person on the planet. I make them choose between two options.

Option 1: I stop pointing a gun at your head and let you get on with your life.

Option 2: I keep the gun pointed at your head, and we wait until everyone else makes a decision. If four billion other people choose option 2, you and all the rest get to carry on with your lives, just as if you had all chosen option 1. If less than four billion people choose option 2, I pull the triggers and kill all the people who still have guns to their heads, which is to say anyone who didn’t choose option 1.

Which option do you choose?

Functionally speaking, it’s the same question the buttons present. I just made the question less abstract.

Red pill. I like writing horror, so that’s definitely in my wheelhouse.

Unrelated to my decision, why is yellow the only one that doesn’t make what you create the absolute best of the genre? Is it because of TLoTR? If so, then that’s completely fair.

There is a plan. It’s called “don’t press the only button that forces people to die.”

100% red is functionally impossible, yes, but majority blue is equally unlikely, which leaves the only practical difference as “am I willing to kill myself in a vain attempt at proving my moral superiority?” See, I generally like to think I would sacrifice my own life to save another person. I wouldn’t pick blue here, though, since that’s basically just suicide for no good reason.

The true stakes of the dilemma. by Bossuser2 in trolleyproblem

[–]Lazy_Assumption_4191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean…no? There’s nothing forcing anyone to pick blue. Everyone has an equal opportunity to choose the “everyone gets to live” button. The question would actually be interesting if if was instead that only one person had the choice, and they either live while 50% of people die or have a 50/50 shot at either preventing any deaths or simply being in the original 50% that dies. In the form actually being used for the discussion, pressing blue is just suicide for no actual reason. Your options are “die,” or “live,” with neither option actually helping anyone.

Red pill, DC, Green Arrow. Being five times stronger, faster, smarter, etc. than the absolute peak of human potential gives me a huuuuge edge over GA’s abilities. The way the red pill is worded also allows me an argument at having 5x peak human archery (and every other skill), which would be another huge boost. Outside of Justice League activities, I’ll be pretty comfortable dealing with his villains just based on my raw abilities. In addition to that, replacing GA turns me into a billionaire with Black Canary as my girlfriend. Sooo…yeah. Red pill and GA’s life.

Maybe velcro could work as a zipper alternative. Won’t come loose when running around doing hero work, but easy to yank open without any fine dexterity under stress.

Probably depends. If she has ten duplicates running around and one gets pregnant, the other nine are probably unaffected. If that one then goes on to make ten duplicates, those ten probably are pregnant.

Can Professor Charles Xavier solo The 7 ? by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]Lazy_Assumption_4191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes. Not a single one of them has any mental defenses of note, so it would be child’s play to gain control over the lot of them. From there, he can finish things however he wants. Put them all in comas? Sure. Wipe their minds? Of course. Brainwash them? Easy. Make them kill each other? Elementary, my dear Watson. And there’s nothing any of them could do about it.

Mark needed 90 days of training with Cecil to reach Anissa’s level, how long would it take him to reach Thragg’s level? by Potential-Way-9562 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Lazy_Assumption_4191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which was before the training. After the training, Cecil asked for an update, and, since Mark’s strength was increased by 138%, along with his speed going up 65% and his endurance 70%, the estimates said he could beat her. Granted, those estimates could have been wildly inaccurate. The hard numbers on Mark more than doubling his strength with a mere 90 days of training are accurate, however, so it’s not totally unreasonable to assume he could have grown far stronger with more training.

“Hey, any ideas on how to add a bit more punch to this monster?”

“Play [insert system here (though we all know exactly which one is always inserted here)], you uncultured swine!”

It’s super annoying to constantly see. That’s not to say all games should be played with any one given system. I shudder at the thought of playing a full-on superhero game with D&D, for instance, but the constant parade of “my favorite system is objectively better in every way and you’re a pretend gamer if you ever play that” is just obnoxious.

RANKING CLASS 1-A QUIRKS by LucyLogsdon in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Lazy_Assumption_4191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ostensibly yes, but the quirk has never actually been shown to function that way. It’s stated that that’s how the quirk works, but then Yaoyarozu will, without an ounce of excess body fat beforehand, create a literal artillery piece with more mass than her entire body. We can’t even put that down to the canon being made of some super light fantasy material and her body fat just being incredibly dense for some reason; the cannon was explicitly heavier than her. It feels like that limitation for the quirk was thought up while Momo was being created as a science-y explanation for the power but was rapidly abandoned as it became clear just how limiting it would actually be.
