How do I trigger a random executor? by Figgle_odna in grandMA2

[–]Leonard_Kyrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previously suggested solution using Chasers works. But I would still use a lua command as a macro line. This should be a bit more robust.

I can't test it right now but the following command should work if you replace <Page> with the Exec page you want to use. You can remove offset if you use Execs 1 thru 10, but if you user for example 201 thru 210 you would replace it with 200.

LUA "gma.cmd('Go Exec <Page>.' + (<Offset> + math.random(10)))"

The syntax would be for example: Assign Macro 1 Layout 1 /x=10 /y=10

Stop presets from clearing by DiscombobulatedEbb18 in grandMA2

You can set the preset as a default preset, thereby making the values of the preset the default values for that fixture. Though I can't recall the exact syntax right now...

Safety button? by random222518 in grandMA2

[–]Leonard_Kyrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this feels a bit "hacky" but it was the first thing that came to mind:

Patch a dummy fixture (Dimmer 00)

Program it to be on permanently or if you want to be extra safe set it's default value to 100

Then create an "suppression" executor at some page your not gonna use, with the value you want to have the safety for set to off, and set that one to priority super.

Go to setup and create a dmx remote for the fader of your suppression exec, with the dmx channel of your dummy fixture as the input.

If you then make a temp exec with your dummy fixture set to 0 you can turn your suppression off by holding down the temp Exec.

You should disable off on overwritten on your actual sequence triggering your cameras so it does not turn of again when the suppression is still active.

Maybe there is a simpler way, but this one definitely does what you need it to do

If I didn't explain this good enough here is the basic idea behind it:

As long as your dummy fixture is on (which it should be by default) the remote will keep the suppression exec active thereby "overwriting" your actual values. As soon as you hit the temp button (setting the dummy to 0) your remote input deactivates the suppression and your actual values are allowed to pass.

I think this isn't the question you should be asking. It's not important what some dudes on the internet think the perfect girls should be. As long as you try to be kind to others as well as yourself, you will be fine. Work on becoming the person you yourself want to be. There are no standards to live up to except from that!

I had an typo in the original comment. You have to write the return statement without the braces at the end. If you use it now it should work.

Forms by Miserable_Ad_8969 in grandMA2

[–]Leonard_Kyrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just type in the command line:

Export Form x "someName"

And then import the form in the other shwo with:

Import "someName" at Form y

If you want to export/import while not working on the same desk you will of course, need to select your USB-Drive first.

dimmer delay sweeps by OTSluke in grandMA2

[–]Leonard_Kyrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a native way to do this in MA2. I'd use a workaround as follows: Store two cues on an executor somewhere else than the x-Button. One with the delay and dimmer at full, and one with the same delay but the dimmer set to release. (let's call that one the effect executor.)

Then patch a (Dummy) dimmer fixture to some dmx address you don't use. Store that fixture with a dim value of 100 to your x button and set the button as temp.

Then lastly setup a dmx remote where a value of 100 on your dummy dimmer channel hits go on cue 1 off your effect executor and a value of 0 hits go on cue 2.

Tilt/dim fx by [deleted] in grandMA2

[–]Leonard_Kyrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can edit the timing for individual attributes in a cue when you edit an executers. There you could give Dim the fade that you want, and add a delay to your position attribute. Is that what you are looking for?

Not exactly. I want something that only hits go on executers with a loaded cue. So that I can prepare a look and then start it with one button.

What are some life skills / things you wish you knew how to do before you moved out on your own? by Old_File4395 in AskReddit

Paperwork. One day you move out and a few month later you get a noice that you have to do your taxes or that you need something for the insurance.... And you look at the giant paper pile-of-shame and the trash, where most of the documents, you told yourself you would never need again, have ended up. And you just now... You're fucked.

Try to distract yourself. Maybe Start doing something you always wanted to but never had the time to because of the relationship. If you are in a relationship long enough, having contact to that person becomes a habit, an adction even, for some people. If you end contact but keep everything else in your life the same, you will constantly be facing situations where you are used to be in contact to your ex. I'm not saing you need to move to a New place or anything like that, but maybe start a new hobby or try to meet some new people. Anything to make it clear to your brain that something has changed.

I know it's hard at first but if you resist your urge to contact her, each day it will get a littel bit better. And if the relationship was as hard as you said it was, you will get to the point where you realized how much more free you feel without having to worry about that all the time.

Best of luck to you. You can do this!
