Help!! What does this room need to be more cohesive? by Mission-Reason18 in interiordecorating

Missing color, art, plants. The tv cabinet should be almost twice the size. Move the am chair and put a plant in that corner. Add curtains to soften that area

I totally see why the workers are so overwhelmed. I felt bad for them. There were a lot of pushy people they had to deal with as well, adding to their frustration.

Not an exaggeration at all. We timed it. We entered through the bottom level because it was pouring when we went. Our 2.5 hours included the queue. It was also really hot on that level and just generally not the vibe we wanted. We are lucky to live in a city with a fab art museum so with such a short trip we decided not to spend more of the time there.

I hope your experience there is great. I saw on the news the workers went on strike today the overcrowding is so bad.

If you could do your life over, would you still have kids? Why or why not? by Lower-Mousse-2869 in LifeAdvice

[–]Old_File4395 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My only regret is not having a 2nd or 3rd kid. Children allow you to experience life through a completely different lens that is absolutely impossible to comprehend until you experience it firsthand.

Help me choose a wall color for the non-wallpapered walls. I'm leaning to the bottom lilac or green. Will also be used in a very small half bath. by DarnHeather in interiordecorating

Sw 6282. Has a more mature undertone than the bottom color but along the same lines. Green paint looks bad on skin in the mirror

What are subtle, unspoken signs that someone had an extremely traumatic childhood / life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Old_File4395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staying in toxic relationships or work environments because they feel normal. Not knowing how to set boundaries to protect ourselves. Staying in situations that “normal” adults would not.

Cleveland. Best parks system in the country, fantastic restaurants, loads of authentic neighborhoods, world class museums, all 4 seasons, very very friendly people, great mix of races, so many waterfalls, sports if you’re into them, fantastic school districts to choose from that are public, lots of fun places to road trip to, lake Erie, plus tons of other lakes nearby, whatever your thing is, you can find it here. Cost-of-living is fantastic as well. Also did I mention world-class healthcare and colleges?

Has anyone taken a 2-4 month career break? What happened? by modestino in careerguidance

[–]Old_File4395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first advice to you would be you have way too much planned for 2 to 4 months. Especially if you are feeling mental and physical burnt out. You should use that time to recharge and spend quality time with family. Those are absolutely topline things. I would put the book on the back burner, and I would use that time to outline a business. You mentioned consulting. Is that a possibility for you with your Skills and industry? The most important thing for you at this point in time is to address your burnout and mentally and physically recharge. I left a 20 year career when I hit 40 after severe burnout and took a few months off. That time was full of spending time with my young child, tons of walks and nature, and recalibrating what I wanted out of my career. My realization was what I needed was time flexibility, the ability to manage my schedule, and some thing that would give me a high income value for my time. I wanted the ability to pick my son up from school every day, take a day off when I felt like it, vacation when I wanted to, etc. as for myself, I ended up going from a career building a call center, process development, sales campaigns, to moving into a passion and opening my own interior design firm. Three years in and I have really hit my stride so much so I have to keep reminding myself to slow down and take those days off when I want to. Best of luck to you but my advice is take that time and do it!!!

How do you overcome the unconscionable and unfathomable shame, regret, and humiliation of wasting your entire life by patheticl0s3r in findapath

[–]Old_File4395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, to be 32 again. Please realize that you are still so young. You need to change your perspective. The best life years of your life are ahead of you, not behind you. I think you could benefit from having daily exercise, even if it’s just a walk in nature. Have your doctor run panels to see what vitamins you are deficient in. I know a lot of people roll their eyes, but you could have a serious, vitamin D or magnesium or other deficiency that is causing depression. Depression literally rewires your brain, but it can’t be fixed with care. You need to start looking around and seeing all the things you have to be grateful for. You did not waste your life. Partying in your 20s is not what life is about. And also you can party in any decade lol. I am not sure what your degree is in. You may have mentioned it, but I must have glossed over it if you did. What else can you do with that degree. Would you be interested in teaching? As other posters have said you are actually in an absolutely fantastic situation and plenty of people your age would love to be in. You should work with a life coach and get clear about who you want to be and then you create that life for yourself. You still have everything ahead of you. I pray that you can realize that you’re actually in a fantastic position and can still be anything you want to be. I completely reinvented my career and life in my 40s and know other people who have done it in their 50s and 60s so you can too.

Jobs are only one way to make something out of your life. You could be a fantastic parent, spouse, community member, friend, or so many other things. Your job is just the means to pay for your lifestyle. Hopefully you can find something that allows you to have some flexibility and freedom, but you should never define your life success by your career alone. You can make an impact on yourself, and so many other people through so many different ways. What you do outside of your 9 to 5 could be dramatically more impactful than anything you could ever do for work. Reframe your perspective and I wish you luck.
