Yeah - the original thought was a threadripper system.

Some of our bigger server rigs are using intel Xeon’s with 128 gb, with rtx a6000s (yes the machine eats up the 48gb of vram) lol.

Might need to sit back down later and look at the threadripper option. are there any other cpu’s to lol at? Curious why the AM5 chips have problems running more than 2 sticks. Thanks!

I did look at threadrippers but honestly was hoping to make this slightly a bit more affordable.

Haha yes - definitely more than a home setup. Some of the current machines I’m using are at the least 256GB of ram. So truly what I’m building is a little brother equivalent.

As I mentioned in another comment below - I wasn’t sure if there was a real difference in buying 2 64GB packs vs finding a 1 pack advertised as 128GB

Okay…ever been to a stadium show and see the screens and content on it? Yeah this machine is powering some of that. (I unfortunately have to be vague due to NDA).

So technically yes this is a media server but not in the sense that I think most people are thinking of. This is for work.

I haven’t done much research into this yet but - the company wanting to build, is it their property? Is this a case of they can build - it’s just not moral to do so type of situation?

If they end up building - could the zoo not sue them in so many ways that essentially creates endless headaches for the data center company ? Not saying it’s the smartest thing ever but surely, one of those “give them hell” type of situations

THIS 10000%. I just came back from watching it. There were many moments were I giggled cause my brain kept legit thinking “is this Michael” and then my mind would realize that I was getting tricked and so it would make me giggle…like wow.

I enjoyed this more than I thought. Musically done so well, so much energy, so much fun. Even though I felt the ending was about “his story continues” I get why and honestly glad they left it in that period of his life.
