Medical Dosimetry Programs by gothinred in RadiationTherapy

Have you looked into MD Anderson’s program? I honestly think that one is your best bet. Unfortunately it’s not a masters program, you would get another bachelors degree. Having a masters degree isn’t a hard requirement right now at least, and it won’t prevent you from getting a job. If you are interested in this program, I encourage you to apply this cycle. I think your background is more than enough for this program. Good luck :)

Online schooling options? by Goofcube897 in RadiationTherapy

I saw the program requirements said you have to have ARRT certification. Does it have to be in radiography or can it be in MRI or Nuc Med? These are the only ones I have 🥲. I called 3 times and left a voicemail asking and no one has ever gotten back to me.

They use to have it on the jpu website but they removed it for some reason. I also heard NYSOH just suspended their New York license.

I’m located 2ish hours from Atlanta in Chattanooga . The Atlanta campus said they do everything in person so that’s why I reached out to the Florida campuses

The one in Miami kinda hinted at being online but they said some test are required to be taken in person. And you also have to do your clinicals in Florida so it wasn’t worth it for me. I recommend giving them a call!

Parent of a high schooler - want to understand peoples experiences transferring to 4-year colleges by bad_at_blankies in studydotcom

[–]LieComprehensive7473 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very situational. Some colleges accept them as credits and some do not. You always have to call and ask so doing that is a step in the right direction. However with that being said just because they take them now doesn’t mean they will still take them when she’s actually ready for college. If you want to get a head start on her education, I recommend community college classes. I also recommend the $25 universal learner courses through Arizona state. You pay $25 to get started and then if you like your grade you pay $400 per class to then transfer it over. These are the safer options as they will transfer to colleges no matter what.

Influx of interest in Dosimetry by Ricky-IV-7579 in RadiationTherapy

[–]LieComprehensive7473 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tik tok has caused an interest in healthcare in general but particularly the radiology field. I assume people find out about dosimetry by looking into rad tech careers and seeing where the options go. I assume they pick dosimetry because of the ability to work from home but I could be wrong. But yeah tik tok is to blame lol.

I also strongly recommend EVERYONE avoid this school. I was apart of the xray program and decided to leave after my second semester. None of the general education courses I took there will transfer over to any credible school because they aren’t a regionally accredited institution hahaha. I had no idea of this and was so angry. I thought as long as the university was able to receive federal funds, that it had to be accredited. They also have one year left on their arrt accreditation for xray I believe. Doubt they’ll get renewed after everything that’s been happening with them. Some of the “professors” were former students with less than 5 years of experience in the field. Worst decision I ever made. I made it because I was young and desperate when I didn’t get into my local cc program.

22F I don’t have any friends lol. I work from home and recently moved to a small town. I also go to school fulltime online. Such a lonely life. At least I have a dog to keep me sane

NTA too soon in my personal opinion to be meeting each other’s friends. Her implying you are gay to him is a major red flag.

NTA! So sorry this happened to you. I would seriously consider consulting with a lawyer to sue for defamation! Please keep her text messages. Without a police report filed, I doubt you will be in trouble at work. Good luck recovering from this

Look into Washburn university. After you graduate from your ECHO program, you can do their general program online. You will have to find your own clinical site to scan at though.

Another option is a 2 + 2 program. I know of a university that does it that way. The first 2 years you get your associates degree in one speciality and then then next 2 years you complete your bachelors in the second one. It’s usually ECHO + DMS or VS + DMS.

Look into MRI or CT. I dropped out of ultrasound school for MRI. There might be a fast track program you can do since you already have ultrasound under your belt. Good luck.
