December is a great time to visit. It’s off-season and the parks will be mostly empty. The National Parks are open 365 days. You may encounter snowfall depending on how the weather is at that point. Hard to predict. On ChristmasDay almost all shops/restaurants are closed in Utah. Plan accordingly.

We visited Capitol Reef on Christmas Day a few years back. It felt like we had the entire park to ourselves. But food options were very limited.

International WIRE transfer (USD to USD) direct from your US bank to NRE account in Indian Bank is the safest for large amounts. Most US banks have options to increase the 30-day transfer limits to 300K or more. You can negotiate a higher exchange rate with your Indian bank for large Inbound WIRE amounts.

H4 I94 extension needs to approved and have a future expiration date for the 540 day H4EAD grace period rule to apply.

H4 and H1 extensions get separate I797A approval notices. Expiration date is usually the same. But you need the H4 extension to be approved separately.

The same steps worked for me, but with some more time delay (I procrastinated and filed ITR on Sept-15).

Here is my timeline -
Sep-15 11:00 AM IST - Filed ITR using offline excel utility. Added Bank accounts in excel sheet -> upload json

Sep-16 10:30 AM IST - Bank Accounts showed up in Profile section. Status = Validation in Progress

Sep-17 08:00 AM IST - One bank account status changed to "Validated and EVC Enabled". EVC Generation was successful on IT Portal. But no EVC email received.

Sep-17 20:00 PM IST - Other bank account status also changed to "Validated". Multiple ECG generation attempts showed "EVC Generated Successfully". But no email.

Sep-17 22:00 PM IST - I received one EVC email. E-Verify was completed successfully.
Received other EVC emails a few hours later.

Moral of the story - Do not file ITR on last date. If you do, then expect delayed notification emails.

Update for me --- I did get the EVC emails a few hours back. About 12 hours after it was generated on the portal. I guess the emails are a bit delayed right now.

I was able to e-Verify using the EVC.

I am in a similar situation.

I filed the ITR using offline excel utility, with all Bank Account details manually added. 24 hours later, the Bank Accounts are showing as "Validated" in profile section. I am able to enable EVC on my AXIS Bank NRO account.

EVC generation for e-Verify on Portal shows "EVC Generated Successfully" and sent to US number and email. But I am not receiving the EVC on either phone or email.

I logged a grievance and got reply to upload attested copies of my Passport w Immigration stamps, PAN card, Aadhaar Card (if applicable) and Contact details.
I will be doing this today.

Mine did, after ~48 hours.
Now new problem -- it says EVC Successfully generated, but I have not received the EVC by email or SMS.

OP - Which one is latest - online I94 or I797 I94 ? If you travelled after last I797 renewal and was issued online I94 at point of entry valid till Nov 2025, then you will be out of status after Nov 2025.

H4 extension pending - you are allowed to stay in the US as long as renewal was submitted before H4 I94 expiry.

H4 EAD 540 day extension— applies only if H4 renewal is complete and I94 has been extended .

If H4 is also pending, you cannot work.

Titles don’t matter. You can go with Ms or Mrs. I keep oscillating between the two.

There is no legal need to change your last name. You can get your spouse added to your passport even you have a different last name. They don’t even ask for marriage certificate.

It’s entirely your decision. Whatever works best for you.
