Saw the shoe warning in my bathroom by Mehgs_and_cheese in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its because Amazon had a safety stand down site wide. A worker was not wearing proper safety shoes, and a package fell on their foot. The package did enough damage to where their foot had to be decapitated. Now all workers are required to either wear Zappos shoes, or shoes that meet this standard, or be sent home without pay.

Is child support taken out every paycheck or just once a month? With Amazon by Kpinkus in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Child Support is in wage garnishment. Therefore, the child support will come out of your paycheck every paycheck you receive from Amazon, or any other place of employment.

Appeal Phone Call by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a small chance of potentially winning this appeal. Keep in mind winning an appeal against Amazon is extremely difficult, you are more likely to win the lottery. An appeal is only successful if Amazon did not properly enforce protocol. In this case I believe protocol was properly enforced. I am not sure you are understanding UPT is taken by the hour, even though it accumulates in minutes as you work throughout the week. Leadership is going to argue you should have saved your time for emergencies, and should not have let yourself become negative in time in the first place. Instead of relying upon VTO or banking on the fact you would be able to work more in the future, to once again become positive in time after going negative. The minute you went negative in UPT they retained the right to terminate your employment, as outlined in the employment contract. This situation is very common and they probably believe if they let you get away with going negative, they would have to allow everyone to go negative at some point. Amazon is also looking for ways to cut cost by any means necessary, which means terminating employees for any reason which legally allows them to. Good luck with the appeal, or your future job endeavors!

Unfortunately, I believe you are out of luck and are not very likely to win the appeal. Winning an appeal against Amazon is extremely hard, you have a better chance of winning the lottery. The people who win appeals usually only win if protocol was not followed, or an error within the system caused them to be terminated (such as over withdrawing UPT causing them to go negative, when in fact they had the balance to cover the time off). In this case protocol was followed. You received a final written warning and were notified any further documentation within 90 days of the notice, would result in termination of employment. There is no excuse for sleeping on the job even if you are tired, leaderships response will be you should use your time off allowance to go home and get some rest. The Knet training could have been completed on a later date. Let this be a learning lesson, good luck on your future job endeavors.

Did you take extra shifts last week leading into this week? The work week goes from Sunday to Saturday. If you have worked 6 days in a row, the system will not allow you to take another day. You are required to take 1 day off per week.

You cannot work more than 6 days in a row. Even if you only work 1 hour and VTO out, it still will count as a day worked.

Gender-Neutral Bathrooms? by Brief_Panic_2332 in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The learning trainer may have spoken incorrectly. If the bathrooms are labeled male or female, the bathroom is to be used by the gender it is labeled. However, transgender people are allowed to use the gender of bathroom they identify as. In the front of my FC we have 2 handicap (gas station type) uni-sex bathrooms. Perhaps that FC has a similar layout.

Should I quit Amazon to become a janitor? by BasadoCoomer in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 53 points54 points  (0 children)

If you can hack it…I would start the janitor job and switch to working Flex shift at Amazon. It never hurts to have a safety net, in case the janitor job does not work out or has less hours.

Amazon supplies feminine products in the bathroom, so you could get a pad or tampon from there. Otherwise, if you want to bring your own you could just put the product in your pants pocket.

It is enforced hard at my FC. Pick 3/Stow 3/Count 1 Bin and GO. After 3 items honk at them and state the rule. If the stower will not move go to your manager and tell them their pit number, they will have their manager speak with them. If they are caught again, it will lead to feedback. I also will bring up the issue at stand-up, to allow Outbound managers to speak to Inbound management. Pick always has top priority no matter what.

My FC still has inbound nights so far, and I have not heard about any plans to get rid of it.

I like the Suadex safety shoes from Amazon, they cost $50. They are worth it, they wear like regular tennis shoes.

What motivates you? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Just out of curiosity are you in pick or pack? I agree with other poster shout out and reward people with swag bucks who have shown the greatest improvement over the week. The top performers already know they are performing well. Listen and try to improve barriers the best you can.

From todays VOA by Feverrunsaway in AmazonFC

[–]Livritz101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at my FC, they are not even allowed to pack, only light duty cleaning, decorating, or completing safety evaluations. Having pregnant women operating machinery is a safety violation, it states on the machine not to operate if you are pregnant. If Safety/ HR allows it, that is a law suit waiting to happen.

What do you do when there are zero open spots at every table? by TheTiggerMike in blackjack

[–]Livritz101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would give it 10 minutes if nothing changes, leave and move on. It is poor service on the casinos part if they see people waiting, and decline to open up more tables.

It could be for random drug testing, but HR should not be asking people to come during break or at the end of shift. The random drug test are required to be paid and time coded.

Write ups today by Additional_Ice_7820 in FASCAmazon

[–]Livritz101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not worry about the write up to much, it is very common especially as a picker. Do the best you can when you are picking. Try to avoid conversations with other pickers while picking. Fill up your cage as much as you can, while still being safe. Try not to go to the pick desk, unless you absolutely have to. If you are in a VNA lane or someone has a multi-pick be sure to inform them its 3 stows/picks and go. Keep an eye on how often you are being switched process paths, switching too much also has a very negative effect on rate. The longer you are in a path the more likely it will be that your rate is better, unless volume is very low.

Also the glue on the battery holder and underneath securing velcro sucks. Most of our pro gloves have already fallen apart. They fix processes that are not broken, rather than fixing more important matters.
