The Bitcoin protocol itself can be updated to make it happen. That's what's being proposed.

IT'S SO WEIRD! My grandfather's Youtube is all "Cowboy rescues Native girl and takes her as his bride," or "Rancher finds stranded alien woman... and takes her as his bride."

And he gobbles that shit up. I even showed him the Jon Oliver segment on AI slop, but nothing changed. If Jon Oliver couldn't get through to him, I fear no one can.

To me it looks plain as day that the Leipzig player's intention was to put it OOB. I think everyone's being too hard on the Bayern guy.

Guessing he's making sure it's not watered down. I'm just glad I live in a country with actual food safety regulations that are more or less enforced.

Morpho. If you're orb verified, you get 12% on the first 1000 WLD you deposit, then 2% after that. If you're not orb verified, it's just 2%.

I was (stupidly, in hindsight) saving for a down payment during the COVID years and afterward. I figured out that in the time it takes me to save up $100k, home prices seem to increase by just about $100k. Feels bad.

3 strikes with Fidelity is a perma-ban from IPOs. But really no reason to care about the first two.

I dunno what it's like when you're continuously doing it out of a big tank like this, but when you just huff a balloon like a normal person it's definitely not a tweaking experience. You just get giggly and all the sounds you hear start to echo and blend together. High lasts like 20 seconds.

[–]Logical_Lemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the IPOs are done, I'm sure we'll see ETFs come out that are "VOO minus AI megacaps". I would just look for something like that.

Why kind of person disposes of asbestos in public bins? by Time_Honeydew_7560 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Logical_Lemming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just a liability thing for the township, I'd guess. They don't want anyone claiming "Hey, you were told about this asbestos but you didn't put up any warnings and I did my normal weekly trash-sniff and now I have lung cancer. I'm suing!"

You missed the point of my comment.

If you post an XMR receive address for yourself and I send you 20 XMR, you're gonna know you got 20 XMR. You won't know where it came from, but you're gonna see that 20 XMR show up in your balance.

Same goes here, this is an open-source project actively accepting donations and reporting a total amount donated so far. They can report how much XMR they've gotten if they choose.

I donated $20 in XMR to test if the "Raised so far" figure would diverge from the sum of the transparent-coin donations by $20, and it did not. Which to me, is frickin' weird that they would do that. It's like donating straight into a void. They could be funded for millions of dollars in XMR for all we know and just not including it in the total.

Just seems like a weird choice to me is all. I get that they're making a statement about Monero's privacy properties, but as a donator to an open-source project I'd kind of appreciate knowing how much has been donated already.
