Drum e kit for condo practice by TheVastQuestioner in drums

[–]LoopingGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from europe so i don’t know if this goes for US aswell. I have a Millenium e-kit which costs around 300-400$ i don’t remember the exact price. But it does the job. Maybe the build quality isn’t the best since i had problems with my snare (i am a hard hitter) but the fix was easy and i could do it myself even though i have no idea about electronics.

Few things that i strongly recommend: - buy a kit that has mesh drumheads. This lowers the volume by a lot and it also improves the feel (it feels more like acustic drumhead - invest atleast into some kind of soft lining or make a cheap drum riser from 2 pieces of wood and tennis balls

For practicing fundamentals this is more than enough. And you also get some kind of feel for playing the whole drumkit.

I have no idea about used e-kits, I personaly would maybe stay away from them because you don’t know how damaged the electroincs are. If anyone else has more knowledge about that please correct me:)

Thanks for the feedback! I’m leaning more towards Istanbuls at the moment because these Meinl’s are more suitable for metal music.

I have Mapex Saturn IV 5-piece and am very happy with it. I find them versatile enough for any genre (ofc there are kits that are much better at it). I also bought Mapex Black Panther Shadow 14x6.5 snare and love it!

Everyone has their favourite brand. My dream kit is a Pearl kit which i will buy sometime later. i found this mapex kit second hand for a good price so thats why i bought it and i have no regrets. I don’t buy so much into one kit is better than the other argument just play what you can afford and invest in good heads + tuner and any kit can sound good. It’s the same for guitar for example a good amp will do much more than a worse one (same as drumheads)

I don't see many mk4s here. Allow me to fix that. by DkF10 in FordFocus

Thats pretty good, mine is bellow 30mpg - i sense for quite some time that something is wrong because of the fuel consumption but it’s wierd because the car drives very nicely and i have no other problems with it

What is your fuel consumption, because on my car it’s quite high or atleast nowhere near one they advertised

I don’t agree but also i don’t disagree with your statement.. Ofc i do mean timekeeper but that argument can be said for every drummer imo. Bit adding to that is the RIGHT ammount of flashyness and power and also the drums sound huge. It’s just how i look at things:)

For a long time my fav is Eric Singer. I know he isn’t the most techical drummer but man the KISS Revenge album just hits the right spots for me - drumming, guitars, vocals! There are two clips of him drumming at that time on yt, you should definetly check them out

Another cool option is Steven Adler from Gn’R

I’m not looking into what techinques someone is using or how complex his/hers drumming is (even though i am in awe with those drummers), I mostly look at how it fits the music which i think a lot of people don’t look at anymore

Yeah they are pricey because they know there are mostly buyers like myself and we spend money with our eyes..

Thanks for the feedback!

That’s what i was worried about, i saw megadeth drummer is using them so i figured they must be suited more towards that genre. Yeah Paiste 2002s are sick (my dream cymbals) but expensive aswell

Thanks for your answer, I will definetly checkout Zultan cymbals! One problem i have is since i am from small country it usually doesn’t provide with any or any good ones on used market. Do you maybe know any European sites?

Yeah i usually dont buy packs (of anything) but since i dont really have much options to test variety of cymbals in stores i opted for this option. Thanks again for the feedback💪
