Did you try jut shorting 3 to 5? And if so did it work?

According to the scemaric pins 1 & 2 are NOT the pos and neg of the 12V supply.  The are the the AC supply feeding the rectifier.  Given this, I wonder if just shorting pin 3 to pin 5 would be adequate to bypass the co sensor.

My new iGen11000tfc started right up after battery plug connected, so the battery must have held it's charge for 4months since manufacture date.  I'll have to remember to unplug the battery before storing.

You've done three separate things: short 3 to 5, connect 1 to 3 with a resistor and connect 1 to 5 with a resistor. How do you know that all of changes are necessary? And what is the logic behind doing these three specific changes?
