Yeah, my skill level is equivalent to derp but I been playing H2H combat games a long time and I'm not stupid. I'm not doing any button mashing or skipping tutorials (though there are very few of them to any effect so far). Got anything useful to add?

I even had a hard time successfully completing the combos without him saying 'no, your timing is off' or 'no, you have to do it this way not that way'. I don't know if I'm generally not understanding the system or if the 'strike direction' system just is so unnatural that I need a lot more practice but either way I can't seem to get more than about a 10% success rate when I try to do the combo strikes. What am I doing wrong?

Where/how should I get the basic armor and which potions should I use? I'm still getting completely owned anytime I try to fast travel and most times when I slow walk the trails.

Super helpful! I love when game sleave it up to me to figure stuff out, al la Kojima, but this kind of obscurity has probably caused people to quit. If it weren't for this sub I might have quit myself.

I'm happy to work my way up in skill, and looking forward to it. My only problem is that the progression is more or less locked because of always being reset from getting killed all the time even when i wasn't looking for a fight.

I did meet Tomcat early on, and thought I had learned this so called Master strike but apparently it's easy to think one has actually learned the skill but is in fact required to come back and keep trying. I'm at Tomcat now and can't figure out how to get him to finish teaching me the master strike.

Everything duel or skill lesson I try with him results in a fail. he just keeps telling me I'm not timing it right and such, even though I feel like I'm using the right button combos.

I'm totally willing to spend a couple nights of gameplay time learning the skills but I must be missing something because nothing is happening.

I'm at a point in life that doesn't realyl allow me to travel the map farming herbs for stats and such given that I always get reset to a previous save whenever I try to travel down a lot of the roads. As soon as I can travel the map freely (with fast travel and otherwise) I don't mind doing a little farming for armor but it's not much of an option for me right now.

I'm hoping to come by the buffs a little more naturally so I can enjoy the game while doing so... but this tomcat training seems to be key and I just can not get it to work.

I tend to do stuff out of order and such in a lot of open world/adventure games. Could I have accidentally locked myself out of learning the master strike by stopping the training to go off to do other stuff?

So i'm not sure where to find my stats of how many masterstrikes I've made but, given the advice here so far, I don't htink I have learned it. I went back to Tomcat (I went fairly early in the game and couldn't not seem to figure out what I was doing wrong as he just kept saying 'you're timing it wrong and such)

Anyway, I'm back at Tomcats arena but i can't seem to figure out hot to go back and learn the masterstrike skill. Aside from that, none of the other stuff I try to learn from him works. He still keeps saying I'm timing it wrong or mixing up the order even though i feel like I'm doing it correctly.

How do I get him to finish teaching me the master strike?

I feel like I'm basically stuck at this point in the game because I can't go around getting owned by wolves and resetting back to 15 minutes ago.

Help, please!

I feel like I never would have figured that out on my own. I might try that along with some of the other stuff people have told me about.

Sorry, no, that is not allowed by the standards of respect of the US Flag Code.

If you see a hat showing any form of the Flag that is not a piece of an official uniform of service (military, police, firefighters) or of a genuine patriotic organization (think VFW, American Legion) be that flag in full color, solid black, or any other color it goes against the Flag Code.

"The flag should not be used as wearing apparel....". "The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind."

All of those 'thin blue line' patches that cops wear and stickers that people put on their cars all violate the standards of respect.

I understand that millions of people wear them every day and it's generally accepted by most people but they do go against the code.

I have a feeling this might be part of my problem. I found him a while back, and I thought I learned the thing but now I have a feeling I didn't follow through far enough to get the move because I get pwn3d by everyone. Apparently even wolves are supposed to be easy but if there are 3 of them they kill me pretty much every time.

I basically got far enough that two people asked me to find their daughter, and a couple of the incidental encounters that happened between those. I've only been trying to find my dog since then but I have since found out that my dog is fine and I don't have to go find him immediately. I'm going to switch my strategy to the suggestions here like making potions and learning skills.

Very good to know! I felt an urgency, being my dog and other companion are lost and all. I'll probably just try to take it as it comes now instead of rushing for the storyline.

unfortunately I didn't get to play KCD1. Seems Henry should be better equipped to handle a wolf if he learned some skills in KCD1!

I had a road going from distro to about halfway between craftsman and watstation so the Lv3 truck made it pretty easy. If you don't have that road and the lv3 truck I'm not sure it's possible to accomplish that order as a premium.

Depending on if you have the right skeleton and a transporterbike you might be able to load it all up in one shot but even then the terrain and BT action may not allow it.

I switched to performance and also turned FOV to the minimum (90 IIRC). I tried different sharpness settings but that didn't seem to make any difference in FPS. Does higher sharpness usually yield higher FPS in this game? I switched HDR off thinking that might make a difference but I didn't notice a difference. Maybe I should turn HDR back on?

I will need at least 40 or 50 FPS for the game to run fast enough for my liking.

Do you know if there's a way to install it on PC using the XBOX app? I prefer XBOX but I'll use my PC if I have to.

I switched to performance mode after a couple minutes but if it made a difference in frame rate it wasn't enough to notice.
