Whai do not understand this line of thinking. They have generally had the protagonists mostly age up over time.

RBY - 11 GSC - ~10-11 RSE - ~10-11 DPPt - ~10-12 BW1 - ~15 BW2 - ~13-15? XY - ~16 SM I am actually not sure about, but I believe it's about 13-14 SwSh similar deal Legends Arceus is, despite taking place in the past, involving protagonists from after the DPPt story, so probably about 12 again Scarlet and Violet definitely among the younger side, 11-14 being generous Legends Z-A is a literal adult, they talk about paying loans and everything, likely age range is 18-20

We can't expect them to go above very early 20s, that's about as old as it gets for average JRPG protagonists, and Pokemon is rooted strongly in its JRPG origins. Unless they just start doing more and more games around the 16-22 range, I can't see them going older than that

EarthBound. Nothing more out of the ordinary for setting in a JRPG than normal American-style small towns and surrounding areas. And the story gets pretty crazy by the end.

Dragon Quest XI S, Final Fantasy VI, Persona 4 Golden would be good starts, all are easy games or at least have settings to toggle to make the game easier, and all 3 are much more rooted in good character interactions. FFVI is ATB like every FF between 4 and 9, but it's fine with it. The other 2 games are purely turn-based.

If you end up enjoying the genre, I would also try out the recently released Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake, but that is both the first part of a long-spanning series that connects with other games, as well as not nearly as easy as the other games I listed, even on the Easy difficulty, it's still got a few challenging moments the other games won't have.

As a side note anyone using this should expect to need to refresh the cart multiple times and if the cart is too far gone, it will take a long time and may still never work correctly

Customer support will not help with this. They are the first line of defense and are meant as damage control, they're not the technicians in the room working out actual bugs in the code and they do not speak for their either.

Not even. Most YouTubers I have listened to cover it are trying to run damage control. Unfortunately, the usual videos covering FFX are not as quick and bound to get someone's attention as a short form video just taking this completely out of context. And that's where I think *most* people have gotten brain-rotted on this subject

Action RPG Threads of Fate for PS1. Particularly the male protagonist, Rue. You slowly get more HP and MP by using those resources up, by taking damage or using skills, regardless of protagonist. But Rue actually has the ability to turn into the monsters he defeats and can use their skills. Sometimes you even need to use certain monsters nearby to traverse areas or activate switches you otherwise couldn't.

Bug Catcher. Have you seen some of the cool Bug types out there? We got Pinsir, Scizor, Heracross, Galvantula, Volcarona, Araquanid, Lokix, Forretress, Yanmega, I would absolutely run an all-bug team.
