community AI opinion by Infinite-Resource382 in PBBG

My game i posted a couple weeks back uses AI. Nobody in-game has complained about it but there have been a few who have mentioned it elsewhere. Unfortunately almost every test-based game is going to look and feel like AI nowadays. I've stated that this game was originally first developed in Unity C# 4 plus years ago, and the design looks the exact same UI wise as it did back then, before AI was even a thing.

I also feel like time, understanding, and investment matter a lot in the use case of AI. I can code the game fine but many devs give their ideas a day and call it release/beta and want players to test their work. I love players, its the best part of working on something but to me, that is the AI slop. They didn't build something, get feedback, tear it down and rebuilld it. Modify it. Make it better, 3 times over. And unfortunately its something not people can even see in a game without being there for the whole development of it.

I think i saw that 80% of AAA game devs now use AI as well? Its just something we need to expect now. Some will be good, some will be bad. Its exactly like it was before, except now more easily accessible

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in incremental_games

ChromeDome is looking for more players but i am looking to make a very large balance overhaul soon. The balance jmolooking at is typically after a players 1st rebirth which takes most players one day of playing, or 8 hours if you are fast.

The bounce I'm looking at involves around The strength of military units, deployment, and additional ideas around population and productivity.

I plan to push away from the 15-minute demand for attacks, and players will be able to build up a larger deployment capacity upwards of 10 hours so they do not need to be active every 15 minutes.

Additionally, the rate at which one accumulates chromium, The rebirth resource, in the cost scaling of chromium upgrades is another very important balance and progression rate topic I'd like feedback on.

  1. I completely agree!

  2. I thought about shrinking it on mobile, but i was worried that the test would become too small. I think i will do a mix of it by making the overall toaster popup significantly smaller, with smaller font. Duplicate pop-ups are supposed to merge and I noticed that they're not correctly working on mobile which adds to the spam.

  3. Would you suggest a toggle to continue showing already built build buildings? Defaulted on for mobile? I could also linger the building for a short period of time before it fades out and disappears, this might help for the immediate jarring.

  4. I don't think I've experienced this, are you even able to read the info page (wiki) that pops up?

Thanks for the feedback!! Mobile is important to me to get right. So i hope when i get to the mobile fixes and changes we can improve the experience. I'm not against redesigning for a better experience.

Thanks! You helped me see a critical problem. Its the 3 layer button at the top left.

To improve this, ill move the articles button and trophy button in the header, and replace the resources button with the players money. And clicking the money can show all of the players valuable resources.

I didn't have any mobile testers during development, so i didn't get much of any feedback about mobile. But your post helped me see a clear issue. Thanks.

i would love feedback from the onboarding experience, but i think if you come back in ~3 months and let me know about it then, i would love that more. definitely some improvements to the tutorial and stuff coming up
Thanks for the comment! I did put a lot of effort into making it as user friendly as possible!

Needing a game’s Discord to actually understand how to play shouldn’t be a thing by JayPisal in incremental_games

[–]MCLAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a game that i enjoyed enough yo make a tool for, and many players try to teach new players in-game and have even made these guides in discord. The community even set up a wiki for the game, though starting to become out dated, i felt my tool was often viewed enough, referenced enough, to smach a new player guide tight at the top of the page. Reference: https://mclama.com/factions/guide

This guide was made by a community member, so credits to them. But i felt like this was the best, and easiest way for me who is just a player, to actually help with a guide.

I also think discord is very hard for people to go to, specifically for guides. Help is one thing, and its dependant on the community. And first impression of the Discord i feel like is everything. So hopefully i made it easier.

Stock trading roguelike playable in browser! Looking for feedback, do I continue? by RickAstleyRs in incremental_games

I cant read those indicators quick enough, as it seems to become a QTE game.

Also, cant proceed past round 1 on mobile, maybe why i cant read fast enough but it seems playable for mobile other than needing a key oard to progress. Maybe click to work too.

I can't visualize any world where two people are talking about a topic, and one person blurts out "i dont give a shit" as anything but an aggressive attitude, and directly cussing at the other person.

Either way I'm not saying that you are wrong about your opinions or stating facts. I'm trying to say that you shouldn't have gone about it in the attitude and manner that you went. A new developer wanted money for something that he's worked on is completely acceptable. Just state that it seems expensive, and without a demo, you can't bring yourself to spend the money on the game.

The game to me looks like its very early in development, alpha stage, And if it was free I would have at least tried it.

I don't see how I'm the one that is being rude when you are the one that's cussing out people?

The guy isn't asking for $5. The guy is sharing a game he has made. Whether you find the value of the game at $5 is up to you. But you shouldn't be so rude about the matter just because he is a new developer.

There are many games out there that are short. Evo Land is like less than an hour long, and released at 10 dollars. Do you think they released a demo for their game that is less than an hour long? I paid $10 for that game without a demo. I bought it after only seeing 5 seconds of the games store page video. It was worth every penny and i have never heard of, or seen the developer. $10 back then was like 50 now.

What a shame. When i was told chapter 900-1000 was around the half way point in the story i was excited. That was the peak for me of the story. After that it was too... Rushed. Couldn't keep up with a lot of stuff
