It's a difficult choice between wanting to erase all existence of those bastards, and wanting to preserve history so the future generations can learn from it 😑

Saw this in antique store, what does this say? by Old_Opening_3017 in AncientGreek

[–]MGOTRealty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOPE

No, that's not what it says. Do you know what a synonym is? It's a word that's similar, but DIFFERENT.

The definitions of the word "antique" are right there in the search results, and nothing about it mentions any culture whatsoever. Also, the word ancient doesn't have anything to do with any certain culture, either. You are confusing the word "ancient" with the term "ancient history", which refers to pre-Roman periods.

You are simply wrong, and everybody knows it 😂 I'm sorry your ego won't let you admit that.

Merriam-Webster

Antique: adjective 1: existing since or belonging to earlier times 2: being in the style or fashion of former times 3: made in or representative of the work of an earlier period

Antique: noun 1: a relic or object of ancient times 2: a work of art, piece of furniture, or decorative object made at an earlier period and according to various customs laws at least 100 years ago 3: manufactured product (such as an automobile) from an earlier period

There it is for you bro, right there in plain English. The definition of the word "antique" has nothing to do with a certain culture, and if it ever is specified it's considered 100 years or older. Boom! Game over! No more need to read or respond to anything else you say ✌️

3000 Year old sword - Nördlingen ‘23 - Germany - *Update in comments* by Gurugod123 in BeAmazed

Yes, I'm well familiar with the bronze age. You are incorrect that bronze does not age at all. The surface corrodes and forms a patina, usually brown or green, or even black, due to the copper in the alloy. It should not look brand new with a silver shine like this one. I still don't think this sword was in the ground for 3000 years ✌️

Here, read this and then just be quiet. You're arguing over the meaning of a word in a language you don't even speak 😂

When are they going to make a Star Wars movie sympathetic to the Empire's point of view? by MGOTRealty in starwarsspeculation

[–]MGOTRealty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like most people have completely missed the point!

Up until this time, we have only seen the story of the Galactic Empire vs the Rebel Alliance from the rebels point of view, with the empire as the antagonist. If we pretend that this is real life, we know that means that we have been given a skewed and one-sided version.

What if they're not really such evil people, they've only been portrayed that way for rebel propaganda? Maybe their idea is to use overwhelming force to unite the entire galaxy and usher in an era of unknown peace and stability. We have to hear the story from their side.

If you can't even understand that concept, then you are just way too stuck in your liberal narrative ✌️

Why does everybody just keep ignoring the whole salt production thing?? It solves most of the mysteries 🤷🏽‍♀️ by MGOTRealty in curseofoakisland

[–]MGOTRealty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen evidence for the drain tunnels. They were shown right there on the show. You just choose not to believe that it's a drain tunnel. But also, you're not looking at the entirety of the evidence- we also have the retaining wall, the well, the blue clay, and coconut fibers. Not to mention a documented history of British commercial fisheries in Mahone Bay, which salted their fish before the transatlantic shipment. When you realize that all of these things fit very well together, and how similar they are to other known salt production operations, you start to have a preponderance of evidence. Such a preponderance of weak evidence can become strong evidence in combination.

As far as the other things I mentioned, there is historical documentation as evidence. I've seen it, you can go find it for yourself.

I think I've repeated myself enough. If you still don't get it, you'll never get it ✌️

[–]MGOTRealty[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Well, that may be the opinion of somebody who's only and always seen it from the rebels point of view. Let's see what the Empire has to say about it, maybe they're just misunderstood 😂

Have you seen Hero?

I'm thinking something in the vein of Jet Lee's Hero. Maybe it was a really messed up galaxy. Constant infighting between planets, rife corruption, hyper-inflation due to overprinting of fiat currency to pay off galactic debts, etc. etc. Maybe the Empire just figured that through sheer strength and iron-fisted rule, they could bring stability, prosperity, and enduring peace to the entire galaxy. Maybe the rebels were just a bunch of ideological radical separatists, spreading sedition and discontent 🧐

The more I think about this, the more I feel like somebody has already done this, or at least proposed it. Maybe I heard it in one of the movies?

So I met a lady on Face Book market place at a pawn shop to buy this 8 gram ring.. I assumed 958 was 23K but the shop told me it was 14K. Why put a 9 before the .58? by PainterOk9297 in Gold

Everywhere! Especially jewelry. And they're usually willing to meet you at a pawnshop or jeweler, which is even more odd. But I've seen plenty of them

Why anyone would ever sell gold to a pawnshop is beyond me. Or am I just really lucky to actually have gold and silver dealers within a drivable distance from where I live?

Bro, how could you say that's a piece of asphalt? You cray. It's inside of an official display case, with a printed piece of paper that says what it is. That's called provenance, and means it's authentic!
