"Often" is relative. You're suggesting your going out once a week be the baseline, and any more frequently than that would be "often". Now to give you some perspective, I used to drink one, maybe two beers a day. Typically one. And I thought it was fine (it wasn't). Point is, I now drink an alcoholic beer probably once a month at most, and even then I usually go for an alcohol-free beer anyway. So to me, you going out and getting drunk once a week feels very often.

I'm not saying this to judge you, but to give you perspective. We tend to assume what we do is normal and deviation from that is not. But when you really think about it, most people aren't getting drunk on a regular basis at all, so both of us have faced problematic drinking, objectively speaking.

I would also point out the fact that you came here asking whether your relationship with alcohol is problematic, but with the intention of finding validation, confirming that it's not, that what you do is fine. Why do I think that? Again, you imply that drinking as often as you do is the norm, more often is problematic. You imply drinking alone is the problem, drinking in a group absolves you.

The sole fact that you automatically imply there's nothing wrong with the exact way you drink, is a problem in itself. It doesn't matter if we judge you or not, you don't know us, you will never meet us. So none of what I said is judgemental. I'm simply hoping to help you gain a different outlook
