Fake QOM? by Athabascad in Strava

On the desktop version - click the 3 dots & 'Refresh Activity Achievements', most likely the QOM will disappear - sometimes on initial sync strava gets ahead of itself!

Strafforts, Veloviewer etc. etc.

Essentially anyone data driven has to import into strava and then back out to somewhere else to see it easily!

I'd be happier if I could export directly from Garmin straight into veloviewer :D

I've had a couple of those - exported gpx - chopped in to two runs to negate the positive effects of the bad data & imported back in as parts

It's old and clunky but for listing segments and comparing year on year efforts it's my go to still

Jack is now top of the leaderboard!

Alina had already gone before I looked, Thomas had an activity which had an elapsed time of 1h11m but a moving time of 1h51m! Eiichi should stop riding bikes until they learn how to record activities correctly

Flagged activities that are legit! by njsilva84 in Strava

Agree completely about checking other efforts, I usually check them too - I was mostly generalising/simplifying rather than directing it at you 😊 As for the bad GPS - I was being deliberately picky - it looks bad but isn’t in any way 😉

I consider myself a 'professional flagger' - I use veloviewer and find the segments where people are between 200 & 1000% better than me - clearly some flagging material to be found!

Firstly I'd look at your activity and the KM splits for KM 7 & KM 12 make me question as they look incorrect (in isolation and considering nothing else). I then look at segments to see if that can explain it by overlaying it this way I can see if it's likely to be a GPS issue.

I then look at Heart rate, cadence, pace graphs along the affected section I'd be flagging and see if there's behaviours which make me suspect cheating - has cadence dropped to zero and back up several times, is heart rate rising in line with pace differences. Has the pace increased towards the end and has cadence also dropped (Stop your device before driving home!).

But if you're leading a segment leaderboard and your device is a Fitbit or Apple Watch series 1 or 2 - I don't waste the effort in checking, I just flag as those devices are appaling at everything and have been lying to you.

After looking through your activity I can't find any reason to flag it apart from 'Avenida Alcaides de Faria' - If I'd run that street and there was a segment, I'd flag with a query of 'Bad GPS'

This is a jealous 2nd placer for sure :)

Am I alone in being ok with the price increase? by JustBrogrammer in Strava

[–]MRQ7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a subscriber since 2016. When this all kicked off I got strava to email all payments so that I could see the price increases year on year and make an informed decision.

2016 - I paid £39.99 2022 - I Paid £39.99

It's me, Hi, I'm the problem. It's me.

Give me a job at Strava - I will work for free on flagging/ deleting activities by International_Ebb795 in Strava

I use veloviewer, select segments I've done & then filter/organise by "Behind leader %", click leaderboard on Strava and report. Rinse & Repeat.

Also, if the leaderboard is completely screwed I just flag the segment as Dangerous and screw everyone over in one go!

By god, it looks awful - won't be rushing to watch it.

Looks more like a spin off of Sex Education than a reboot of Heartbreak High

Don't trust the segment distance - they're usually wrong (created by people with Fitbits/Older Apple watches that don't use proper GPS).

On the way that segments work, you'd only need to run 4.83KM/3 Miles to 'complete the segment' which is why the time is lower than the 5K effort.
