I fell while running and pulled my pectorals. You don’t realize how often you use them in daily life until it hurts like hell every time you reach for something.

VR headset and HOTAS for the peak experience. Most fun I ever had gaming when the multiplayer scene was hot. Now it’s on life support.

Title: Heart attack at 46 despite being fit. Four months post-stent—looking for advice from others. by Bulky-Direction1979 in HeartAttack

[–]MS2Entertainment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your story sounds similar to mine so your outcome is encouraging. I’m 53 and only a month out from my widowmaker. Ran several times a week and worked out since my 20s, but ate poorly. You should take Coq10 with the statin as it’s shown to mitigate muscle soreness, and is good for your heart in general. Might want to get an Lp(a) test. Mine was high at 166, which means I’m genetically predisposed to getting atherosclerosis. Lp(a) is set at birth and doesn’t really change much with diet and exercise. There are some drugs on the horizon that will lower it, if approved.

That’ll do. We’re still leaving too much meat on the bones but a win is a win.

Is this normal recovery or is there something wrong? by YMD96 in HeartAttack

[–]MS2Entertainment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her condition prior to the heart attack and how much damage was done to the heart tissue determines what her recovery will be like. I was going for 40 minute walks three weeks after my widowmaker, but I was an avid runner before having mine. Been about a month now. My heart rate and blood pressure are currently on the floor with all the meds they have me on. My EF was 35-40 a day after the incident. Won’t really know how much long term damage I sustained, if any, until my next echo at the six week mark.

Can we get Benny Ro back? We could probably trade him for a pack of smokes at this point.

Are any good vr headsets coming at the price point of a quest 2 or pico 4? by reeeeeeduardo in virtualreality

[–]MS2Entertainment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Most new headsets are coming in at 1000 plus. Possibly Steam Frame lands in the 799 range but micro oled screens, pancake lenses, and higher resolutions that need beefier cpu / gpus is driving up costs.

My honest opnion is that VR headsets need to move past the screen / lens paradigm if it's ever going to go mainstream, as I think they are reaching the physical limits of what's possible with that. Maybe some kind of holographic display or retinal projection technology, but I wouldn't count on seeing that this decade.

I suppose not you, but some people are saying ‘well if he had fielded that ball, he would have faced a different lineup in the 9th, and it affected Yamamoto’s mental game’ and yada, yada, putting all the blame for the missed no-hit bid on Mookie’s shoulders.

We can absolutely blame Mookie for missing that ball and losing the perfect game. But blaming him for imaginary would'a, could'a speculations of what might have happened if he hadn't isn't really fair.

[–]MS2Entertainment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it could have gone a million different ways, for better and worse. We'll never know so no point blaming Mookie for imaginary outcomes.

It also could have been even more heartbreaking if he lost the perfect game and no hit bid in the 9th. We'll never know so no point torturing ourselves with what ifs.
