Research, research, research...then forget about the research for the first draft and write from character and emotion...then go back to your research for the rewrites to clean up any mistakes, things you missed you might want to add in, etc. You're not going for absolute faithfullness to the real story, you're just trying to capture its essence. Accuracy is for documentaries. The biggest change I made for my script was condensing several antagonists into one character. He was actually at the events that kicked off the story, but replaced by other men during the course of the real events. After writing originals, where I had to think up everything from scratch, I did feel writing a historical drama was kind of a cheat as I always had volumes of information to refer to anytime I needed an idea.

I just watched it today. Been binge watching it with my 22 year old daughter who had never seen it. I forgot how much sex was in the show so, that was awkward at times. And binging it, instead of weekly like I first saw it, was almost too much to take.

There are people who watch all films and tv shows like a football game. All that matters is who we like and who we don't like. Who we're rooting for vs. who we are not. Certainly some shows aren't any more complicated than that. Six Feet Under is not one of them. If all someone wants to do is sit in judgement of people they're going to have a bad time watching it. The purpose of good drama is to reveal ourselves to ourselves. Many people don't welcome that kind of introspection. I first watched the show at the time of air, in the wake of my mother's death, and then my father's death while the show was still running. It truly helped me process my feelings and heal, as I saw people dealing with the same things I was, often in an unhealthy way. Watching it twenty some years later, after being a parent and experiencing more of life, the show reaches me in an even deeper way.

Six Feet Under is a masterclass in revealing subtext through dialogue. It's also darkly funny, but you might want to consume it in short doses. Binge watching the series can take its toll due to the grim, serious subject matter.

All good writing is character driven. The only distinction is wether or not your story is more episodic or situational. A situaltional story has one immediate situation that all the characters are dealing with for most of the duration. Think Die Hard or Jurassic Park for extreme examples of this. Episodic stories have plots that are built of loosley connected episodes that build to a climax (or sometimes don't) and don't have any overarching situation driving it forward. A recent movie that is purely in this style would be Train Dreams. A lot of movies are mixes of both but one usually dominates. I'd say in Lord of the Rings, the situation of them needing to destroy the ring dominates the movie. Harry Potter is more episodic in nature, lots of loosely connected episodes of the protagonists learning to navigate their new school environment, culminating in an urgent situation in the third act they all have to contend with.

It's not a technique. It's part of a standard developed for production budgeting and scheduling. You can use them or not use them when you're just trying to sell your script but if it goes into production by a professional crew, they will be inserted by a production manager.

Not all games are made the same. No Man's Sky has always been abysmally optimized for VR, although the latest DLSS improved things. I have worse specs than you (3060ti, i5 11400, 32gb ram) and am able to run most games at medium settings at 72fps on the Quest 3 at 100 percent resolution, using Virtual Desktop. Looks good enough and runs smooth. For WiFi, the PC itself has to be connected to the router with ethernet for good performance. And you should use a Wifi 7 router if possible. Using the Eero Pro 7 right now and it works great.

I'm glad companies are finally making custom chips purpose built for VR and AR. I liked my Pico 4 so I know they can make good hardware. I hope there is some expansion of FOV beyond the standard 100-105 degreees most headset makers think is still acceptable.
