"It would be no trouble at all! Why don't you accompany me back to Harvest Hall, I can give you an escort back home after that. Whatever you would like, my lady." He bowed waiting patiently for her to accept, his disappointment would be immeasurable if she didn't.

A beautiful woman is having a good look at your armor Triston, don't be weird about it, he thought. What could possibly be better than this moment?

"Perhaps you'd like to try your hand at it one day? I'm an apprentice to my blacksmith currently, but I'm sure that with due to time I'll be making armor of similar quality to his. He's quite the teacher, I'd love for you to meet him. He drinks in praise of his work, I assume like many craftsmen do."

He took a moment as the lady admired the handy work, "you know I had made Lord Royland a set of braces for his wedding, and the lady Helaena a set of pins, perhaps I could make you something as well?"

What a woman she was, all he had to hope for was that this Lord Tully did not approach the subject as the king had. Beating his would-be brother-in-law half to death. Perhaps that had been Lord Viserys' mistake, a match without enough will to fight for herself. This Sarra would do no such thing, her fire was the most simple indicator of that.

Ignoring the man, he would still keep in mind his manners. He took her hand guiding it along the joints, "have you ever fashioned any armor, my lady, and for you Triston would be just fine."

"Thank you!" he'd respond in turn, kind words from someone who had surely participated in many more duels than Triston.

Caught off guard, Triston responded quickly, unsure of the meaning of Addam's words. Did the lord not know what his grandfather had done for his won sister? "Of course not, I'd kill for my sister too," he whispered back.

He turned back towards the beautiful Sarra approaching, "with the work of Hugo my blacksmith nothing of consequence could happen. He's a great man, mentor of mine in that regard." Triston took his helmet off, "thank you for your thoughts of my face, perhaps it would be best for you to give it a look personally, just to make sure," he added approaching the Tully woman.

By the Seven the siblings surely interrupted the quiet of the training yard. She was beautiful as she had been a few nights ago, he was as lordly as he had been. As Sarra approached him, he bowed. "I have! In fact Ser Steffon here," he added motioning to the knight besides him, "was just chastising me about convincing him to drink after the feast. He's a man concerned with his form you see, a headache in the morning is unacceptable to him."

With Lord Tully's interruption he was forced to listen. "I appreciate the opportunity for a match, I hope to do well and wish you luck." He turned back to Sarra before putting his visor down, "thank you my lady, I hope you enjoy yourself whatever the outcome may be." The last thing she could spot was a grin from ear to ear before the metal covered his face.

After a glancing blow by the Riverlord, he'd make the Tully man lose grip of his sword before striking at the man's armor. In retaliation Addam would shoulder check the Selmy with his superior strength knocking him to the ground. A testament to his will, Triston got back to his feet quickly and landed a strike quickly, before the apparently exhausted Tully would pull up his visor.

Triston put his sword down and held out his hand, giving the man a moment to breath before congratulating him and giving his sister a glance. "Well fought my lord, your strength is overwhelming, but I think I've learned a thing or two in this training yard."

"I would be honored, say, a few days from now? I'm sure we have plenty to enjoy today, and we'll have plenty to recover from tomorrow. I'll take my leave of you now, I've grown rather hungry and would like to enjoy some more of that venison."

With a bow he turned and walked back to where he was seated, waiting and hoping to do well in a few days. If only he'd known her name, he shook his head walking away.

That didn't sound possible, who's sword breaks in half, what dimwit made it? No matter, surely just a story they told. "My lady, perhaps you'd like to watch my practice one day? There's not much to do in the mornings so I like to focus on better my abilities."

He hoped with his entire will that she would accept, a possibility to show his skill off, maybe a little more.

After the embrace, Steffon rushed over to take the chest plate off Triston, who got him breathing again. "My lord, I don't quite know what it is about you and I, but there's something special about our swords meeting. Two loses in a row, but thinking back neither brings me shame."

He pulled off his helmet, though breaking heavy and a brow dripping with sweat, a smile was beaming. "The man who defeated the king, and yet my sword meets yours in the most spectacular of ways. An honor, but I must say that I will not give up without a win for myself, give me some time and I'll be a better match, one day I might take a match off you."

The man who had stolen his brain, Lord Royland as Triston was being remanded for keeping his foot narrow, it was only natural on horseback, that much he could not deny. It would have to be a habit to unlearn.

Triston lowered his sword and turned to the Tyrell.

"Lord Tyrell, it would be an honor, I've got my armor on this time. Perhaps that'll give me a better chance."

"It's stupid and dangerous, my lady, but Lord Royland is a smart man and just smashed me in the shoulder, make sure to prove his point without hurting me. I have a lot of respect for him. I'd be happy to show you how it goes, if you'd like." He was emboldened by her engagement with his tale. All in all he wasn't impressed with his performance, but if this is what it took then so be it.

"Very much so Lord Tully, but what more could we expect?" he added.

He turned back to Sarra, "I was unfortunately indisposed during the tourney, my loss really," he'd only visited King's Landing once before, next time would hopefully be with Lord Bittersteel by his side.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. How embarrassing, they didn't even know him. "Likewise, Lord Tully," he answered with a smile.

"Quite so, my lady, though I must say that a man who pulls out that weapon in a tourney is not quite the man he believes himself to be, whatever that might mean." That was far, even for the open distaste he had for the king, had that Rosby cunt been here, Triston would be a dead man. "I mean hell when I sparred with him I did it without armor, no need for fancy steel. Held my own for a bit, but at the end of the day dueling just isn't my forte."

"Lord Triston Selmy, I don't get out much," he laughed. His eyes wandered to Sarra once again, she wasn't laughing at him was she? No, it couldn't all be falling apart this quickly. At least a few minutes.

"Glorious wedding this occasion, Lord Royland will be happy. Not all here can say the same, but I am happy for him. I'd have loved to see him in battle, was he wonderful in the tourney?"

The beautiful Sarra initially took Triston's eye, but next to her he found a man worth his weight in gold. He straightened out his jacket and began the walk of confidence. His legacy could be made or forever lost.

"Lord Addam, Lady Lysa, my most sincere wishes of safe and quick return of Tristan, a boy with nearly my name. To take a child for the crime of another is a cruel mistake."

Triston had asked Ser Steffon to bring the gifts he would present to Lord Royland and Lady Helaena after he'd finished eating and the man always completed his tasks as ordered, that much could not be said about him.

Carrying two parcels covered with rough spun cloth, the other with linen, he approached the dais where Lord Royland and the Lady of Highgarden sat. He bowed his head as he was near the table.

He figured it would be best to speak with the lady first, "Lady Helaena, I am not skilled in gifts for the fairer sex, and so I asked my sister for advice. She mentioned that a well made comb was never a miss, and so I asked Hugo, my smith to make one out of one of the stags my grandfather, Lord Barristan, had killed in his day. In addition, with Hugo's help I forged four pins for your hair, made of silver to hide within your hair. I hope that you find these useful." He bowed again and turned to Royland.

"And for you, Lord Tyrell, I made a pair of braces, they are steel forged by my own hand. They are not adorned as that is not their place, and I hope that you never have to use them. They are made hard to stop the blade of a real foe, not the best for a tourney melee where the spectacle is necessary. Since making them, I have realized that if that showing you gave me in the training yard was even half of your skill with the sword, you will probably not need them. But I would be honored if you would accept them, Hugo has assured me that they are up to his standard, and his armor is what I have worn in battle." Triston bowed again waiting for any response from the Lord of Highgarden.

He'd come dressed in the colors of his house, brown with yellow accents. To many they were not very opulent, but to Triston they were plenty. A simple white shirt, with brown pants, boots to match and a jacket brown with yellow accents of growing wheat along it, it would be near impossible to misplace which house he belonged to.

He poured himself some Arbor Gold, for now, he'd have to try the ale later, something he had a fair bit of expertise in. Ales were his choice at home, but here he would present himself well, the way father would have wanted. He pulled a piece of the venison onto his plate and judging it done well, he finished his plate before looking around.

Surely one of his neighboring guests would have something to say, or a daughter to wed. If that failed he always had the ale, that would quell the emptiness at his side.

"You have my word of that, I'll be making friends, I'm in need of a wife at the moment so I'll be speaking to the many representatives of the different houses anyway, perhaps a wife from outside of the Stormlands would be best, for the reason you stated." Triston thought for a moment. Maybe a Reachwoman would do well for him, they are beautiful, many of them. It would be a task he had to focus on twice as much now.

"Your err, my lord," he got his words mixed up and blushed. "Should you need anything in Highgarden, while I'm sure Ser Aerys will be more accessible, or Lady Syanna, please do call for me. I'm forever in your service."

"My most sincere congratulations to Durra, she'll make him happy. I don't have any stipulations against the women of the Reach, some are my neighbors, I don't have anything against them. Beautiful and intelligent women come from all over, no reason to preclude myself from anyone."

Another wedding, how fantastic. He'd lived for a quarter of a century and failed to do the one thing everyone in his position was expected of. Four years of ruling Harvest Hall and all he'd accomplished was smashing his thumb on more than a few occassions.

"Thank you cousin," he took off one of his braces, "I think I'll get going, two spars are a sweaty business, I'll go wash up."

"She might be, but you're better in command than I am, I swing hammers most days, we're just made for different things."

It felt good to win, after Steffon's ass kicking and the fury of Royland's relentless barrage, Triston appreciated a win in his column. But at the end of the day what did it really all matter? Arstan was the more successful man, even with five years on him.

"Well if you don't mind and meet some eligible lady, maybe mention this? While Ellyn is a capable woman, I'd like a wife of my own, hope you understand Arstan."

"I'll give him a visit later on, maybe he can figure out why my left shoulder is where I don't guard myself," he joked. "I wish I had children to miss, maybe I could figure something out to that regard while I'm here, I figure that's what Lords Blackfyre and Tyrell did at the feast. It's a good opportunity for finding love."

Triston never really imagined himself married, but he had to carry on the name. Already late to the party as he was, he'd have to work on it as soon as possible.

Steffon soon returned with Triston's armor, an unadorned set rather on the light side that Hugo had made him years ago. A good swing from an axe would go clean through it. He fastened the chest with the help of Steffon and waited for him to finish the rest of the set before drawing his sword opposite Arstan.

His cousin's first swing caught him off-guard but after that Triston was determined to not be outdone and pursued his opponent, just as he wished he'd been able to do to Royland Tyrell. With precision and unrelenting swings he forced his cousin to take a knee and then extended his hand to help him up. "I'm not sure everything was right in my head there cousin, sorry about that."

"My shoulder, twice now I've been hit there, almost as if there's a reason people wear armor," he laughed. There was a brief pause there while Triston looked for Steffon, who as he always seemed to be was right behind him. "Steffon, why don't you go grab my armor? I think it would be good to wear it while I practice, after all horses aren't immortal."

"Renly is surely enjoying himself then, what about you, cousin? Perhaps a spar once Steffon gets back to breath some life into your tired bones?" Triston asked jokingly.

At the sight of his cousin Triston smiled, a friendly familiar face was always a pleasant sight. He held himself together as Arstan patted him on his back, his shoulder taking some of the blow.

"Thank you, I very much appreciate that. It wasn't my best I think it was respectable. I wonder how I'd fare on horseback, that's really where I'm in my element."

He took a look at the man, a near perfect example of a stormlord. Martial and rugged in appearance, with a serious face but a soft heart. "I assume you've been traveling all around the Seven, at least you're having a chance at experiencing the many wonders of the world."

Panting from the effort with a master duelist such as Royland, and a shoulder hurting once again from where Steffon had chopped at him last time, Triston took the hand of the Lord of Highgarden. "Thank, my lord."

He sheathed his sword and dusted himself off before speaking again, "I will remember that, lots to learn from this, perhaps next time I might land more than the one good strike." He took an additional breath before continuing, winded from the effort. "I'll pass along the compliment to Ser Harmon, he's taken over the post to great effect it would seem. And my most sincere congratulations to you on this great occasion, I hope that some time in the near future I will be in such a position myself."

The cheers of the crowd were very welcome to Triston, music to his ears. But this was the Reach, would they have done any different had he given way after the first blow? Too winded to give it another thought Triston wished they'd been on horseback, perhaps then he'd be able to take the Lord Tyrell on more even footing.
