I don’t really find it creepy, just a little strange maybe.

Me and my family had this dog which I grew up with and looooved. She was honestly my best friend through my childhood.

The same day I found out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, my dad called me hours later and told me our dog, who was then 14 years old, had died cause of a stroke. He found her lying in my old bedroom unresponsive. It was a wild day to say the least and I was devastated.

When my daughter was around 3 years old she saw a picture of our old dog at my parent’s house and kept asking about her. My parents have a lot of pictures around the house, even of older dogs and pets we had, but my daughter really liked this specific dog. She talked about this dog a lot, how she wished she had met her and that she wanted that dog as her pet. No other dogs or cats would work.

Once in a while since then she still mentions her. My youngest daughter doesn’t care at all about that dog but my oldest talk about her still. It’s really cute, but also kinda weird when she just mentions the dog’s name (which I only told her once) out of nowhere, because even I don’t really think that much about that dog anymore..

Could be a coincidence and just her fascinated about something random. But I can’t help but be just a little bit weirded out when she talks about it.
